We all learned in school that some countries have a single governing party. If youre not in that party, you cant be part of the government. The US has two government parties, Republicans and Democrats, both funded by the corporations and wealthy individuals who make up this countrys capitalist elite. If youre not in either one of the government parties, youre denied access to media and in many states, laws are passed specifically to keep you off the ballot.

While the two parties are funded by pretty much the same class of people, their social bases are different. Since the 1960s, Republicans have made it clear that they are the white mans party, the party of war abroad and racist reaction at home. Democrats, for electoral purposes are obliged to stake a contrary claim. Since the election of Donald Trump Democrats have branded themselves the resistance.

Romanian MEP Laurentiu Rebega: All Is Not Quiet on the Eastern Front The Gateway Pundit

Guest post by Laurentiu Rebega, Romania MEP, in the EU Parliament

For about two years now, Europe by which I refer to the mainstream side of the public opinion watches with dismay how polls indicate a shift in political preferences towards conservatism and even far right political movements.

In the West, where political elites have been well established for a very long time, this phenomenon is relatively tolerated. In Italy and Austria, the new populist governments neither overthrew the constitutional order, nor will they completely overthrow it. The dialogue exists and the traditional center powers are slowly beginning to understand the need to change approaches regarding a range of subjects such as migration, security policy and terrorism, national sovereignty, and international trade regimes. Simply put the pendulum has swung and the new reality is to the right.

However, you Westerners rarely if ever accept the same tendencies when they are manifested in Eastern Europe in former communist states that are newer members of the European Union, to be more precise.

The leadership in Hungary, Poland, or the Czech Republic is criticized in Brussels not as just for the policies they promote, but also for their legitimate wish to be equals to the older member states. This gives the sensation that Western Europe closes the door for the Easterners. It looks down on them and despises them. It treats them a second class.

From the other side of the Atlantic, the United States shows more fondness and realism towards Eastern Europe. The diplomatic and military relations with the Baltic States, Poland, or Romania are excellent, especially in the context created by the new policies drawn up by President Trump, who put the European Unions leading states in their place, opening the door for the newer democracies in Eastern and Central Europe to affirm themselves. His speech for freedom and Christian civilization was given in Warsaw, Poland, I remind you. This was on the Eastern Front. It played very well in the East even if Western Europe which is in a secular decline took umbrage.

I am unsure, however, if in D.C., the fondness I mentioned is doubled by an accurate understanding. Because we are talking about small states, the tendency of many US politicians is to treat them as undifferentiated due to the challenges and high stakes the US has in the region. However, like in commercial marketing, real and durable success...

MUST SEE: Ocasio-Cortez Stumbles Over Her Own Words, Speaks Gibberish on CNN (VIDEO) The Gateway Pundit

Congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the current darling of the left, stumbled over her words when discussing House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on CNN.

The 28-year-old Democratic Socialist rambled nearly incoherently as she attempted to describe what kind of rank Pelosi holds in the party during an interview with Cuomo Prime Time on Wednesday evening.

I think absolutely right now..she is the leader of..no no, um, she is speaker..or rather leader Pelosi..hopefully well see..shes ah..shes the current leader of the party and..the party absolutely does have its leadership in the House and Senate, the political newcomer babbled.

Pelosi and Ocasio-Cortez have not had the warmest relationship since her shocking victory over 10-term incumbent Rep. Joseph Crowley in a New York congressional race.

Pelosi, when asked about the broader meaning of Ocasio-Cortezs rise brushed it off saying they made a choice in one district.

So, lets not get yourself carried away as an expert on demographics and the rest of that, Pelosi said during a press conference after Ocasio-Cortezs win. We have an array of genders, generations, geography and the rest, opinion, in our caucus and were very proud of that.

Ocasio-Cortez snapped back on CNN by saying that she believes were in the middle of a movement in this country.

I feel this movement, but that movement is going to happen from the bottom up. That movement is going to come fro...

THE NUNES TAPES SEEM LIKE A NOTHINGBURGER TO ME No More Mister Nice Blog

Last night on her show, Rachel Maddow played tapes of Congressman Devin Nunes that were secretly recorded at a fundraiser for a House Republican colleague, Cathy McMorris Rodgers. I know the tapes were intended to make my pulse race, but I don't see what the big deal is.

The New Republic's Jeet Heer says it's because Nunes contradicted the president on the subject of collusion:

During private fundraiser, Devin Nunes admits collusion can be a crime. ... In the audio, Nunes makes some notable remarks about the ongoing Russia investigation. As NBC reports, Nunes also appeared to say that if a campaign received and released stolen emails from a foreign government he used a hypothetical example of McMorris Rodgers getting secret information from Portugal, where his ancestors are from there would be a criminal element to that. These comments go against the thrust of a frequent claim made by President Donald Trump, that collusion is not a crime. As Nunes concedes, collusion could rise to the level of being a conspiracy with a foreign power, which is criminal.
This is interesting, but it's not as if it can be used in a court of law -- Devin Nunes talking at a fundraiser isn't legal precedent. It could be brought up in impeachment hearings in the House or an impeachment trial in the Senate, but will any reluctant Republican say, "Well, I was planning to vote with the president, but Nunes's words convinced me Trump is guilty"? It's a nice gotcha, but it's nothing more.

The Washington Post's Aaron Blake seems agog at the partisanship:
First off, heres [a] full quote, in context:
So therein lies whats like your classic Catch-22 situation where were at a -- it puts us in such a tough spot. If Sessions wont un-recuse and Mueller wont clear the president, were the only ones, which is really the danger. Thats why I keep -- and thank you for saying it by the way -- I mean, we have to keep all these seats. We have to keep the majority. If we do not keep the majority, all of this goes away."
We dont know quite what Nunes was responding to, regrettably. But what first strikes you is how quickly he pivots from talking about Trumps fate in the Russia investigation to the GOPs electoral fortunes -- as if the purpose of keeping Republicans in power is to shut the whole thing down.
Well, duh. The GOP myth right now -- it's almost QAnonish, even in re...

CLUELESS GASBAG Jim Acosta on Colberts Late Show: Were Not Supposed to be the Story Thats Not Why Im Here (VIDEO) The Gateway Pundit

Jim Acosta, CNNs favorite narcissist, took to CBS on Wednesday evening to continue his crusade for fame and infamy by pretending to be some sort of champion of press freedom.

When asked by Late Show host Stephen Colbert about making himself the story, Acosta stated that hes allowed to care about this country as much as anybody else.

Were not supposed to be the story, you know. Thats not why Im out there, Acosta responded. I get accused of that from time to time, and my attitude is Listen, Im allowed to care about this country as much as anybody else.

The man who pretends to be persecuted went on to air his grievances with the administration totally freely unlike actual persecuted journalist Julian Assange (who he does not stand up for).

If you think that  you can take children away from their parents on the border and put them in cages, if you think you can demonize immigrants and call them rapists and criminals, if you think that you can distort the sense of reality that we all have on a daily basis by telling lie after lie and falsehood after falsehood and not face any hard questions, I think youre just not living in the same United States of America that I live in, Acosta said.

Prior to his appearance on the show, Acosta was ruthlessly mocked for his ridiculously appropriate photo of him smiling approvingly at himself in the mirror.

RNC Releases Hilarious Ad Trolling Democrats and Their Media Henchmen The Gateway Pundit

The RNC has responded to the liberal media attempting to claim a moral victory in Ohios 12th congressional district by hilariously reminding them that winning is winning.

The description of the amusing ad simply says, Someone should tell the Democrats that moral victories dont get a vote in Congress.

The ad features a montage of liberal media covering the victory of Republican Troy Balderson in the Ohio special election and repeatedly using the talking point that they had won a moral victory because the vote was so close.  The footage quickly shifts to the pundits whining that moral victories wont get their candidates into office.

The comedic commercial concludes with a clip of Vin Diesel in The Fast And The Furious, stating that it doesnt matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winnings winning.

Proposed Bill Would Fund Border Wall By Fining Nations For Each Illegal Immigrant The Gateway Pundit

A new bill that was introduced this week seeks to fund the border wall by fining Mexico and other nations for each illegal immigrant that enters the United States.

(AP Photo/David Maung)

The Fund and Complete the Border Wall Act was introduced by Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) on Tuesday. It seeks to fine nations $2,000 for each of their citizens that crosses our border illegally.

With 400,000 illegal immigrants being caught crossing the border annually, that is $800,000,000 per year towards the project.

The fine would be cut from their foreign aid and redirected towards funding the wall.

Additionally, the bill would impose a fee upon Americans who wire money to other countries and raise the fee for tourists I-94 forms from $6 to $25.

Border security was one of the primary issues of the 2016 campaign. Americans believed us when we promised to build the wall, secure our border, and enforce our laws, Biggs said in a statement about the bill.

Even with a Republican-controlled House and Senate, we have failed to secure the funds for the border wall. In the meantime, our Border Patrol agents suffer demoralizing losses of resources and personnel. Some in Congress view border security as leverage for an amnesty deal, but that would turn a crisis into a catastrophe, Biggs added.

Biggs concluded his statement by urging fellow lawmakers to support his bill.

We must keep our promises to the American people. We must fund, start, and complete the border wall without further delay. I encourage my colleagues to join me in support of this legislation, Biggs said.

In addition to funding the wall, the bill would restore overtime pay for Border Patrol at same rate as all other DHS law enforcement agencies.

The Malloch Plan: A Trade WIN-WIN-WIN The Gateway Pundit

Guest post by Ted Malloch, author of The Plot to Destroy Trump

The Malloch Plan: A Trade WIN-WIN-WIN

Rarely does the possibility in politics or economic policy line up to produce a win for all.

Winning at slots supposedly has about a 97.5 chance of losingin other words, the house or casino usually keeps your money.

At this moment however in the world of international slots or trade, there is an unusual and highly probable chance to beat the house and the odds to pull off an uncanny: WIN-WIN-WIN.

How?

Here is what I am now referring to from now on as, The Malloch Plan.

President Trump has been called a protectionist and a gambler when it comes to the US, if not the world economy, due to his imposition of tariffs and playing hardball when it comes to our various trading adversaries.

Yet Trump has said, No tariffs, no barriers, thats the way it should be and no subsidies. He actually said exactly this at the G7 press conference. Thats the one where he was accused of not playing by the rules. As should be apparent by now, the normal rules are out the proverbial window when it comes to Trump.

But President Trump is not in reality against free trade at all. He just insists, unlike in the past that it be truly free, fair and reciprocal.

For him it is like in the Bible instruction of Matthew, chapter 7: Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you. This was a command based on words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount: All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them. The Mosaic Law contains a parallel commandment: Whatever is hurtful to you, do not do to any other person.

Lets call it reciprocity, a kind of Golden Rule even when it comes to trade. Trumps rule.

This is fairly straight forward, even if economists and lobbyists try to muddle the waters and complicate things.

The public gets it. They innately understand the common sense plea of businessman cum President Trump.

We exchange goods and services with other countries in an open, free, equal and most importantly, reciprocal way. This is what Trump referred to originally as, The Art of the Deal.

Everyone wins.

No one is taken advantage of. The consumers benefit and the companies compete to produce the best products at a profitable price, in a capitalist marketplace. In such a system there can be NO cheating, no advantages, no non-tariff barriers or no subsides. No state organizations can prop up losers and no government interventions can be used to effect outcomes. Trade is equally beneficia...

The Establishment LOVES It When Progressives Lose A Race DownWithTyranny!

Media conservatives could not wait to attack Alexandria (and Bernie) for the races "they" lost Tuesday. This was an especially venal headline from venal right-wing propagandist and fake news manufacturer Kyle Olson, Socialist star Ocasio-Cortez strikes out: All endorsed candidates lose Tuesday primaries. "Alexandria Ocasio-Cortezs record on Tuesday night for her chosen primary candidates," he giggled, "was as bare as a Venezuelan supermarket shelf." And dull status quo shill Bill Scher quickly penned Down Goes Socialism for Politico. I'm sure Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Chuck Schumer are all patting themselves on the back today. "If you thought," he channeled, "that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortezs upset primary win over Rep. Joe Crowley meant the Democratic Party was poised to go socialist, think again. Last nights largely Midwest primaries produced a near-shutout for the anti-establishment left. Ocasio-Cortez partnered with Bernie Sanders to make a series of splashy endorsements that, in the end, failed to clinch victories. And two leftist upstarts hoping to emulate Ocasio-Cortez, and defeat longtime Democratic incumbents, fell far short."
The most glaring defeat came in Michigans gubernatorial primary. This is the state where Sanders defied the polls and edged out Hillary Clinton, raising hopes that he had a magic touch in the Rust Belt. Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez tried to catapult the young and brash newcomer Abdul El-Sayed, who trailed in polls, endorsements and money to former state Senate Democratic leader Gretchen Whitmer. They could only nudge him up to second place, with 30 percent of the vote.

In fact, Hillary Clintons endorsement appeared to carry the most weight in Michigan. Her late robocall in support of Haley Stevens helped take Stevens from second-...

Truth and the Truth bensozia

William James:

What hardens the heart of everyone I approach with the view of truth sketched in my last lecture is that typical idol of the tribe, the notion of the Truth, conceived as the one answer, determinate and complete, to the one fixed enigma which the world is believed to propound. For popular tradition, it is all the better if the answer be oracular, so as itself to awaken wonder as an enigma of the second order, veiling rather than revealing what its profundities are supposed to contain. All the great single-word answers to the world's riddle, such as God, the One, Reason, Law, Spirit, Matter, Nature, Polarity, the Dialectic Process, the Idea, the Self, the Oversoul, draw the admiration that men have lavished on them from this oracular rule. By amateurs in philosophy and professionals alike, the universe is represented as a queer sort of petrified sphinx whose appeal to man consists in a monotonous challenge to his divining powers. The Truth: what a perfect idol of the rationalistic mind! I read in an old letter - from a gifted friend who died too young - these words: "In everything, in science, art, morals and religion, there must be one system that is right and every other wrong." How characteristic of the enthusiasm of a certain stage of youth! At twenty-one we rise to such a challenge and expect to find the system. It never occurs to most of us even later that the question 'what is the truth?' is no real question (being irrelative to all conditions) and that the whole notion of the truth is an abstraction from the fact of truth in the plural, a mere useful summarizing phrase like the Latin Language or the Law.

Trump Can't Save the Republican Establishment Booman Tribune

Its not unprecedented for a fairly popular president (with his own base) to discover that loyalty and enthusiasm for him does not transfer to his partys members of Congress. President Barack Obama was unable to bring out his base in the midterm elections of 2010 and 2014, with crippling consequences for his presidency and for the Democratic Party as a whole. But Donald Trump may soon discover that he has the same problem to a much higher degree. After all, Obama did not run on the premise that his Democratic Party rivals were a bunch of low energy, lying, weaklings. He didnt run against the Democratic establishment and its leadership in Congress.

Donald Trump surprised people when he was rewarded for brutally attacking the Bush family, disparaging John McCains military service, calling Mitt Romney a choke-artist, and trashing other popular Republican politicians like Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, and Ted Cruz. He called Washington a swamp and properly cast the Republican establishment as his enemy. Its just not clear why a Trump supporter would be a natural voter for an incumbent member of Congress from any party.

Once in office, Trump has not shied away from criticizing congressional Republicans, especially when they failed to repeal Obamacare. His base must know on some level that he needs Republican majorities to protect himself, but a large percentage of his voters were never partisan Republicans or traditionally supportive of Republican majorities. Why would these people be motivated to show up to vote for Ted Cruz?

Theres obviously a reshuffling of the electorate going on, as we could see in last nights election results. Several Republican members of Congress are no longer looking safe despite representing districts that have had a strong historic right-wing lean. This isnt new. Weve seen the Republicans underperform consistently in special elections for more than a year now.

Some of this is the natural pendulum swing we usually see in a new presidents first midterm, as the opposition gets motivated to counterattack. Some of it a result of the GOP nominating some truly awful people like Judge Roy Moore. Some of it is buyers regret from Trump supporters who thought theyd be getting something different.

But I think a significant part of the problem is that a big chunk of Trumps voters hate Congress, are not partisan Republicans, and dont support incumbents or either party. Ive written about this before, and Im still uncertain about the size of the contingent, but theres a significant number of people who always cast the...

Crooks of a Feather Flock Together Booman Tribune

Maybe your mother told you that you can judge someones character by the company that they keep, and I think that is at least accurate enough to serve as a basic self-defense mechanism.  Today, Donald Trumps deputy campaign chairman, who is facing substantial jail time despite copping a plea, finished testifying in the first of two trials against Trumps campaign chairman.  Both of them are guilty of a plethora of crimes, including conspiracy, money laundering, and bank and wire fraud. But they are hardly the only close Trump associates who are already in big trouble.

It appears facially obvious that Donald Trump Jr. lied to Congress. Trumps personal lawyer/fixer Michael Cohen had his offices and hotel room raided and is sure to face a number of criminal charges regardless of whether or not he decides to become a cooperating witness. Felix Sater, Trumps longtime business associate and the point man for the failed attempt to build a Moscow Trump Tower, became a cooperating witness months ago. The same is true of Michael Flynn, Trumps first National Security Advisor. Roger Stone appears to be quickly approaching his time in the barrel, as his friend Kristin Davis (the Manhattan Madam) is scheduled to appear before a grand jury this Wednesday.

Theres a much longer list of Trump-affiliated people who have legal vulnerabilities or who have already resigned for unethical and/or scandalous behavior, but Im just focusing on people who were very important to either Trumps business or his political success.

On the political front, very few elected Republicans were willing to endorse Trump. The first to do so in the Senate was Jeff Sessions of Ala...

Weak Democratic Affiliates Should Be a Focus Booman Tribune

Theres plenty of interesting information in the data collected by the National Opinion Research Center during their latest nationwide survey. The headline takeaway is that Trumps base of support is weaker than it may appear from just looking at the topline numbers. What stood out to me was something different, however.

The survey breaks voters into six basic categories: Strong Republican, Not-so-strong Republican, Lean Republican, Strong Democrat, Not-so-strong Democrat and Lean Democrat. The two lean categories are essentially people who do not want to self-identify with either party. Among the three Democratic groups, it may surprise you to learn that Trump does best with people who identify as Democrats, but not too strongly. They like Trump better than independents who lean Democratic.

And its a pretty big difference. Strong Democrats strongly disapprove approve of President Trump (eighty-seven percent) and Lean Democrats are almost as hostile (eighty-three percent). But Not-Too-Strong Democrats only register sixty-eight percent strong disapproval.

This is the group where youll find the Obama-Trump voters. Many of them have already seen enough of Trump, regret their decision to give him a chance and will not be voting for him again.  Some of them are happy with Trump and may soon migrate into independence or a Republican affiliation. The significant thing is that whether they voted for Trump or not, whether they regret voting for him or not, and whether theyre more sympathetic to him even in opposition or not, theyre people who still identify as Democrats.

For strategists who are actually interested in convincing Democrats to vote for Democrats, they should examine what this group likes about Trump beyond his anti-immigrant racism.  It could be his opposition to NAFTA and other trade agreements. It could be his combativeness and willingness to tell elites where to get stuffed.  It could be as simple as a more general social conservatism within this group. To be sure, there are still nearly seven out of ten people in this group who strongly disapprove of Trump, but the rest are a weakness for the Democratic Party as well as an opportunity.

The Obama-Trump Democrat is not a myth. Republicans will do better poaching them (again) than theyll ever do with left-leaning independents.  And Democrats have a better chance of shoring up support among their own than they do of poaching right-leaning independents who also support Trump by better numbers than Not-so-strong Republicans.

In other words, the biggest minefield for vote switchers (for both parties) is among loose affiliates of the other party rather than indep...

Cruz-O'Rourke in a Toss-Up Race Booman Tribune

I have already expressed my opinion that the Senate election in Texas between Ted Cruz and Beto ORourke is a toss-up, by which I mean that by election day no one will be able to confidently predict the winner. But there are more factors in support of my analysis than I listed in that piece.

For example, former Democratic consultant Jason Stanford is quoted in the Texas Tribune as saying the Democrats have never been in a situation [before] where November matters at a statewide level. Thats a temporal exaggeration, but it has been a long time since Ann Richards was on a Texas ballot. Its a simply psychological observation that taking time out of your day to vote becomes less urgent when the candidates you prefer are sure losers. Democrats in Texas will turn out at higher rates than in the recent past if they believe that Beto ORourke has a chance to win.

Ted Cruz understands this and hes hoping to drive higher turnout from his base for an inverse reason: its also easy to stay home from the polls if youre certain your preferred candidate will win. Thats why Cruz told a conservative audience in Austin over the weekend that The biggest challenge I have in this race is complacency.

The latest sign of ORourkes momentum came over the weekend, in the wake of Cruz releasing several television ads Friday, including three attacking ORourke.

Cruz said Saturday at a conservative conference in Austin. People say all the time, Oh, come on, its a Texas re-elect. How could you possibly lose? Well, in an ordinary cycle, that might be true. But this is not an ordinary cycle.

ORourkes campaign, meanwhile, set an ambitious goal of raising $1 million over the weekend to help counter Cruzs attack, and easily blew past that target, announcing Monday morning it had raised more than $1.25 million through more than 30,000 donations.

So-called experts continue to pour cold water on ORourkes chances but the way he raises money should alleviate one of their main talking points. Despite the size and expense of advertising in Texas, ORourke will have the resources to compete with Cruz and to get his name recognition up and his message out.

Another piece of evidence comes from polls of state and federal district races that include the Cruz-ORourke matchup:

Only a handful of statewide surv...

The Koch Brothers Commissioned a Survey of Americans and Found Most Like a $15 Minimum Wage, Free College, and Universal Health Care The Intercept

During the month of July, the marketing and communications group In Pursuit Of launched by the Koch brothers in 2017 conducted a survey of Americans on a range of issues.

The poll was later written up by RealClearPolitics, which spun the results as favorable to the Koch network. RealClearPolitics noted that on a set of vague values questions, Americans appeared to take the conservative or libertarian side of political arguments. For instance, RealClearPolitics noted that the survey found that 86 percent of Americans said the right to personal property is key to a free and just society. Okay, sure.

But mostly left out of the RealClearPolitics write-up is the fact that the poll also surveyed Americans in detail on a number of issues they felt would help them overcome social barriers, and found that Americans are quite favorable to a set of policies that the Koch network opposes. Where the Koch brothers see government tyranny, most Americans see common-sense solutions to basic problems:

Midnight Meme Of The Day! DownWithTyranny!

by Noah

The Milk Of Human Cruelty

Now Trump, this 99-cent store Hitler, even has the Republicans chanting "lugenpresse" (German for "lying press") at his rallies. The phrase was used by Hitler's Nazi followers in 1930s Germany when they, too, had embarked on a campaign to discredit the press and incite violence against journalists. And still America sleeps. How long before the Nazi straight-armed rally salutes are not just sporadic but full-on punctuations for every sentence Trump spews out at his speeches? How long before he suggests that American soldiers parading in front of his reviewing stand during his penis-compensation military parade should give him the same salute as they march by?

It's hard to unsee some things and for this I almost apologize. The truth is that the ugliness of Trump is there to be seen and any failure to see it gives it advantage. The only thing I would consider changing about the art for tonight's meme is the depicted size of Trump's hands. Obviously, the hands should be the same size as the infant's hands. There's much that any true patriot would change about the real living breathing Trump himself.

Fear and hate have been the two main entrees on the Republican menu for decades now but the Republican milk of human cruelty has now fermented into a cheese so repulsively reeking that a decent human being can't even be in the same house with it, let alone be able to get it past one's nose. Host On RTTV Supported Ron Paul (Rands Pa) For President In 2012; Claimed To Have Raised Over $1 Million For Him; RTTV Was Finally Forced To Register As A Russian Foreign Agent In 2017 Mining Awareness +

Food for thought as Rons son, Rand Paul, trots about Russia. And, 2012 may have been the dress rehearsal for 2016.

A Complaint was filed in July of 2011 with the FEC (Federal Election Commission) about support that a show on RTTV gave Ron Paul in 2011 for his 2012 Presidential campaign. The FEC stated in 2014 that the company was US registered and owned by an American Citizen (Russian born recent migrant), and so that it was not a violation. However, by 2017 the US Justice Department ruled that RTTV and Russian Government funded RT (formerly Russia Today) news were effectively the same and that the owner should register it as a Foreign Agent under FARA. While the FEC ruled in 2014 that the activities of RTTV at issue here are covered by the press exemption, the US DOJ stated in 2017 that although FARA does provide an exception for bona fide news or journalistic activities, see 22 U.S.C. 61 l(d), that statutory exemption does not apply to RTTV Americas activities. The media exemption only applies if a media outlet is not owned, directed, supervised, controlled, subsidized, or financed, and none of its policies are determined by any foreign principal[.] Id. As already noted, RTTV America receives funding from TV-Novosti, which retains editorial control over programming content.

Adam Kokesh on what the US DOJ finally established in 2017 was effectively Russian government owned Russia Today, stated Yesterday we raised over 1 million dollars for the Ron Paul campaign A Complaint argued that RTTV, which it describes as a registered foreign corporation funded by the govemment of Russia, provided air time for Kokesh, an employee of RTTV, to promote and raise funds for the presidential campaign of Ron Paul during a June 6,2011 The Complaint provided a portion of the episodes transcript Id like to end tonight on a note of some good news Yesterday we raised over 1 million dollars for the Ron Paul campaign.

Elizabeth Warren was listed as Harvard Laws first woman of color in 1997 law review piece on diversity and affirmative action!

Warren lied about her heritage for years. She has no links to any American Indians.

It was all a lie

The liberal media knew it all along but said nothing to protect her Until today.

Should Trump Voluntarily Talk to Mueller? LewRockwell

Shop all books by Judge Napolitano

Special counsel Robert Mueller who is investigating President Donald Trump for obstruction of justice, pre-presidential banking irregularities and conspiracy to solicit or receive campaign aid from foreign nationals (the latter is what the media erroneously call collusion) has made it known to former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, the head of Trumps legal team, that he wants to speak to the president.

Should Trump voluntarily speak with Mueller? In a word: No. Here is the back story.

Though I have been critical of some judgment calls made by Giuliani in his representation of Trump, I recognize, like anyone who has watched him or worked with or against him, that Giuliani is a smart and experienced lawyer. He has prosecuted directly or indirectly more than 5,000 criminal cases. He knows the criminal justice system, and he understands the power of prosecutors.

Yet the advice of most criminal defense lawyers and legal commentators familiar with the situation in which Giuliani finds himself today is to keep his client far away from the prosecutors. Heres why.

Thanks to Giulianis numerous television appearances during which he has forcefully defended his client, Giuliani and Mueller have engaged in a very public series of negotiations on the limits, if any, that they might agree to as ground rules for an interview of the president.

Giuliani wants to limit the subject of questions to the alleged conspiracy between Trumps campaign and Russians. After all, he argues, this is the stated purpose given by the Department of Justice for starting the special counsels investigation. And he wants to limit the number of questions and the time for all questions and answers. He argues that the presidents constitutional obligations transcend the needs of Muellers probe.

Mueller argues that he has an ethical obligation to follow whatever evidence of criminal behavior lawfully comes into his hands, about the president or his colleagues. As su...

Alex Jones, YouPorn, and the New Resistance LewRockwell

Rey; How do we rebuild The Resistance from this?

Leia: We have everything we need.

 The Last Jedi

Mondays coordinated hit on Alex Jones and InfoWars was an act of desperation.  Control of information is one of the pillars of social control and Jones, for all of his faults, is a threat to that.

And today he is an even bigger threat than he was the other day.  I could do this entire post comparing moments in Star Wars to the Banning of Alex Jones and by the time I was done even the alt-right guys would appreciate The Last Jedi a little more.

I wont stretch the metaphor too far.  The Deep State is like Kylo Ren on seeing Luke Skywalker for the first time in years.  Theyve searched for years for ways to destroy Alex Jones, marginalize him, etc.; hoping he would fade away into obscurity.  Just like Ren search the galaxy for what he thought was The Last Jedi.

But, he was instrumental in electing Donald Trump.  The coordinated effort to create a Ministry of Truth, ferreting out purveyors of fake news began the morning after the 2016 election.

And Alex Jones was public enemy #2, right behind Donald Trump himself.

So, when the time comes, when the moment of victory arrives, Luke shows up to drive Ren mad while The Resistance escapes.  Ren lashes out in fury turning the entire might of the First Order on a mirage (spoiler alert) only to be left with defeat.

And after Lukes deception and Rens impotence is revealed Luke leaves him with the most cutting jibe he could, See you around, kid.

Its not as eloquent as Obi-Wan Kenobis If you strike me down But, Luke was never eloquent.  Hes ultimately a hayseed, a nobody who grew up in Flyover Country.

Ren is impotent to kill the spirit of Luke Skywalkers legend.  He mistakes killing the man with killing the idea of him.  But, the movie reminds us of the lesson of another freedom fighter, V, that ideas are bulletproof.

And so too will the Deep State be impotent to kill Alex Jones.  InfoWars app today is the #4 downloaded app on the iOS Store.  Whats a shame is that even the Porn guys cant seem to keep their virtue signaling in their pants.

This report from RT tells you that everyone was given the order behind the scenes to de-platform Alex Jones before the mid-term elections.  Why, all of a sudden would the biggest porn site in the world decide to take down Jones material posted by users?

Shemale gangbangs are wholesome but questioning Sandy Hook is beyond the pale?

This is cucking out big time, Yuge even.

No, this was directed by very powerful people.

And everyone knows it.  They may not want to admit it to themselves, especially those that view Jones as the impediment to regaining power. But, they know where this came from.

Candace Owens Exposes Twitters Hypocrisy LewRockwell

Yesterday was a very dark day for free speech in America.

As the world witnessed the stunning collusion of Silicon Valley tech giants permanently banning Alex Jones and Infowars in a matter of 12 hours, conservative communications director for Turning Point USA, Candace Owens, saw her Twitter account suspended for her wordplay experiment with Sarah Jeongs racist tweets, by switching the words from white to jewish and black.

Owens responded to her Twitter suspension

RT CrossTalk host Peter Lavelle and The Durans Alex Christoforou break down the brilliant two-for-one bomb that Owens dropped on Twitter and the NYTs Jeong.

Owens wordplay switcheroo not only called out the Harvard privileged Sarah Jeong for her racist hysteria, but also exposed the hypocrisy and bias of Twitter when dealing with the censorship of a conservative profile, as opposed to a liberal, part of the team, account.

Zerohedge reports that in response to the New York Times decision to stand by their most recent hire open bigot Sarah Jeong, who really hates white people, men (especially white men), and cops black conservative Candace Owens carried out a thought experiment  we mentioned last week in which we replaced the word white with black to illustrate Jeongs animus.

Pilger Excoriates Media LewRockwell

DB: John, what is the latest we know about how Julian Assange is being treated and his current state?

John Pilger: His state of health is just about the same, as I understand it. He needs medical attention, the kind of treatment you get only in a hospital. But it has been made clear to him that if he attempts to go to a hospital he will not be given free passage and he will be arrested. Since he was arrested in 2010, Assange has not been charged with a single crime. His treatment amounts to the most unprecedented persecution. Julian could leave the embassy if his own government, the government of his homeland, Australia, applied legitimate diplomatic pressure on behalf of its citizen. We must ask ourselves why this hasnt happened.

My own feeling is that there is a great deal of collusion between the Australian, the British and the US governmentsmeant to close down WikiLeaks completely and/or deliver Julian Assange to the Americans. Recently the Australian foreign minister, Julie Bishop, traveled with senior officials to London and to Washington and raised the whole matter of Julian. But they raised it in a way that didnt support the idea that a government should represent its citizens. These people listened to the more powerful governments. In Washington they met Mr. Pompeo, who refused to discuss Assange altogether. I think there is collusion which amounts to an attempt to try to do a deal with Assange whereby he might be allowed free passage of return to Australia if he shuts down WikiLeaks. I think that is very, very likely.

As I understand Julian, this is something he would not even contemplate. But that might be one of the so-called wretched deals that are being offered Assange. Some very strange things are being said by senior members of these two governments. The new foreign secretary of the United Kingdom, Jeremy Hunt, said sarcastically that the British police would offer Julian a warm welcome when he came out, when he would face serious charges. There are no serious charges. He hasnt been charged with anything.

Was Hunt referring to a deal which has already been done with the United States on extradition? I dont know. But this is the milieu of machination around someone who has the right of natural justice concerning his freedom. Putting aside freedom of speech, the persecution of this man has been something that should horrify all free-thinking people. If it doesnt horrify us, then we have surrendered something very valuable.

DB: Among those who should be especially horrified are those of us in the journalistic community. John, I would like you to explain once again why Julian Assange is such a significant journalist, why so many journalistic institutions have collaborated with him based on the information he provided. We are talking about a publisher and r...

Birthing Pains LewRockwell

The Birth of the West: Rome, Germany, France, and the Creation of Europe in the Tenth Century, by Paul Collins

I am about a third of the way through the book.  This is a bit different than many of the books I have read on the topic.  It has little focus on the law, and much focus on the violence, intrigue, invasions, and forced conversions.  Then again, being only a third of the way through, I have not yet come to the new Europe part.

Certainly Collins notes that power was diffused; the idea of an absolute monarch didnt enter Europe until the sixteenth century:

Instead, power in medieval society was noncentralized, consensual, and consultative, even if the consent was limited to the more powerful.

From my earlier reading, while the more powerful had more liberty in their consent, the less powerful were not left naked.

We are introduced to the raids and invasions of Vikings, Magyars, Saracens all made the easier due to almost continuous fighting among and between brothers regarding inheritance and kingship.

While governance was decentralized, there was one thing binding all of the people:

Latin, or Western, Christianity, was the heart and soul of this new culture. Catholicism totally permeated this society, and there was no distinction whatsoever between church and state in our sense.  They were simply two sides of the same coin.

While Catholicism permeated the society, this did not mean that conflict was unknown between king and Pope.  The Pope used the kings, the kings used the Pope partners when necessary, conniving when sensing weakness.  In the earlier period, the kings were generally ascendant; in the latter period, the papacy came to challenge this dominance.

It was the Saxons brought to Christendom in the most violent manner by Charlemagne that, perhaps, saved Christendom.  Further, Poland and Hungary were eventually converted; even the Vikings came to Christianity.

A few themes from the introduction

The fallacy of medieval: the Church was intolerant, stoning heretics and burning witches, etc.  Not so.  We read of Archbish...

NYT Bias LewRockwell

Ive figured out a way to quantify how Establishment news organizations manipulate the contents of our minds: just track the use of tendentious phrases over the years.

Since 2016, there has been much talk of fake news. For example, The New York Times used the phrase fake news 901 times in 2017. Both sides of the political spectrum believe the other is outright making up events that never happened to promote their worldview.

That does happento some extent. For example, many of the most publicized hate crimes blamed on white men in recent decades have been either outright hoaxes or badly misreported.

A subtle but likely more important issue, however, is the question of which true news gets emphasized. There is always vastly more news than a person can remember. Thus your picture of reality is inevitably distorted to some extent by the power of the media, what I call the Megaphone, to pound over and over into your head certain true news, but not other true news.

Moreover, the press furnishes us with convenient concepts, such as white privilege, that make it easier to remember the facts they prefer you to know and harder to remember the facts that undermine the concepts.

For example, consider two black teens who once were true news.

In 1955, Emmett Till was murdered by two white men who were quickly acquitted, making his story memorable for being one of the last examples from a long era of state-excused white-on-black civilian violence over black males hitting on white females.

In 1987, Tawana Brawley launched our present era of making up hate hoaxes against whites by claiming that the reason she got home late was because she was being gang-raped by six white policemen.

Which incident is more rationally relevant to 2018? But which does the prestige media consider more au courant?

Tracking the numbers isnt as easy as it ought to be.

In 2012, The New York Times graciously offered a tool called Chronicle for graphing its frequency of use of words since 1851. But as I pointed out in 2016, that made it almost too easy to document the Times increasing obsession during the Late Obama Age Collapse with words such as racism, sexism, and transgender. By 2015, in the sound of the Establishment suffering a nervous breakdown, the NYT was treating racism as five times more newsworthy than it had in 2011.

Not long after, the Chronicle web page was disabled.

Civil War II Coming? LewRockwell

When we get tired of blowing up Muslims for Israel, will we turn on ourselves?

Scenarios for a second American Civil War have existed ever since the first one ended. Some hyperbolists called Reconstruction the Second Civil War. Alt-history novelists have imagined the ascension of Huey Long or George McGovern to the presidency as Civil War II trigger. The real-life (?!) ascension of Trump has inspired similar fantasies, leading red state partisans to gleefully thump their chests and imagine how easy and fun it would be to take San Franciscoa fantasy that triggers the hell out of the SF-based blue staters.

How might civil unrest spill over into civil war? One common scenario is race war. The late Charles Manson, we are told, staged his killer-hippie mass knifings because he thought the Beatles were sending him secret orders to start a black-vs. white apocalypse. Obviously Manson must have been taking some really, REALLY bad acid while playing Beatles records backward in hopes of hearing John sneering Paul is deadthen suddenly grokked that the White Album, whose mysterious title does not appear on the record and makes no sense anyway, is really about white power! Manson lieutenant Tex Watkins explained: and what it (the song Helter Skelter) meant was the Negros were going to come down and rip the cities all apartBefore Helter Skelter came along, all Charlie cared about was orgies.

Though Manson was a raving nut, his vision of race war was inspired by contemporary reality. Indeed, while the hippies carried on with their orgies, the Negros did rip cities apart. Even before the Deep State murdered Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., blacks in New Jersey, Detroit, Minneapolis, and many other cities had been tearing things up and burning neighborhoods down. The Long, Hot Summer of 1967 featured 159 race riots in dozens of US urban centers, and elements of the National Security State were drawing up contingency plans for a race based civil war.

William Pepperthe King familys attorney who proved in a court of law that the CIA, FBI, and US army killed Dr. King with th...

Apple, Google, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter LewRockwell

The coordinated attack on widely watched Info Wars host Alex Jones by Apple, Facebook, Google/Youtube, and Spotify is all the proof that we need that the total failure to enforce Americas anti-trust laws has produced unaccountably powerful firms that are able to exercise far more censorship, not only in America but also abroad among Washingtons vassal states, than the Nazi Gestapo or Stalins NKVD were ever able to achieve.

Recently the progressive Rob Kall and I discussed on his show the implications of a trillion dollar company, which Apple now is. A day or two afterward, Rob Kall wrote an article on his website OpEdNews in which he made a case that a trillion dollar company had too much power for our continuation as a free people. I agree with him. Only 16 countries out of 195 countries in the world, a mere 0.08 percent, have a GDP equal to or larger than one trillion dollars.

Think about that. Apple is larger than the GNP of almost every country in the world. In other words, Apple has the power of a major government. Apple could be a member of the G-20. Apple could institute its own currency and be part of SDR drawing rights. Apple could participate as a backer of IMF and World Bank loans. Apple could have its own military and secret service.

No sooner than Rob Kall made his case than Apple proved it, along with the other tech monopolies: Google/Youtube, Spotify, and Facebook.

In the US almost everything has been monopolizedthe digital world; 90% of the print and TV media owned by 5 or 6 companies; 90% of bank deposits in 5 large banks too big to fail; Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes which have abolished independent community family stores; auto parts franchises that have abolished family businesses; restuarant franchises that have destroyed family restaurants; pharmacautical and chemical monopolies. It is endless. The monopolization of the American economy was done under the rubric of globalism. The dogma is that you cant compete globally unless you are large enough to be a monopoly or near-monopoly.

The digital revolution combined with Identity Politics has made it easy to curtail free speech. Any attention to issues that the ruling elite doesnt want mentioned, any truth-telling that exposes hidden agendas, is branded conspiracy theory or hate speech and shut down. That monopoly power is what Apple, Facebook, Gogle/Youtube and Spotify have now exercised against Alex Jones.

Alex is just the beginning. He is outspoken and at times over the top. But he puts into the limelight issues that the ruling powers want kept in the shadows. This, and only this, is the reason that the ruling elite are attempting to shut him down. The hate speech charge is a fabricated joke.

What Apple, Facebook, and the rest of the American Gestapo mean is that the Truth Is Hate Speech. This is straight out of...

How Putin and Trump Put an End to the War LewRockwell

The Western Press continues to support the elite transnational financiers and to scorn the actions of President Trump. This attitude makes it difficult to understand the progress made towards peace in Syria. Thierry Meyssan looks at the agreements reached during the last five months and the rapid progress on the ground.

It is with prudence and determination that the Russian Federation and President Trump put a definitive end to the domination of the world by transnational interests.

Convinced that the balance of powers does not depend on their economics but rather on their military capacities, President Putin has certainly reinvigorated the quality of life for his compatriots, but he developed the Red Army before making the Russians rich. On 1 March, he revealed to the world the principal weapons in his arsenal and the beginning of his programme for economic development.

In the days that followed, the war was concentrated in the Eastern Ghouta. Russian Chief of Staff General Valeri Guerassimov telephoned his US counterpart, General Joseph Dunford, and told him that in the case of US military intervention, Russian forces would target the 53 US ships in the Mediterranean and the Gulf, including their nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. Above all, he requested that President Trump be made aware of his countrys new military capacities.

Finally, the United States allowed the Syrian Arab Army and a few Russian infantry-men to free the Ghouta of the jihadists who occupied it.

Only the United Kingdom attempted to anticipate events by organising the Skripal affair if the current world order were to collapse, we would once again have to employ the rhetoric of the Cold War, which set the kindly cowboys against the big bad Russian Bears.

In June, when the Syrian Arab Army, supported by the Russian Air Force, moved into the South of the country, the US embassy in Jordan warned the jihadists that as from now, they would have to defend themselves alone, without the aid or the support of the Pentagon and the CIA.

On 16 July in Helsinki, Presidents Putin and Trump went a lot further. They broached the subject of reconstruction, in other words, war damage. Donald Trump, as we have been writing here for the last two years, is opposed to the Puritan ideology, financial capitalism and the imperialism which is a direct result. He rightly assumes that his country is in no way obliged to bear the consequences of the crimes of his predecessors, of which his people had also been victims. He affirms that these crimes had been committed at the instigation, and for the profit, of the elite transnational financiers. He therefore considers that it is for them to pay, even though no-one knows precisely how to make them do so.

The two Presidents also agreed to facilitate the return of the refugees. By doing so, Donald Trump overthrew the rhetoric of his predecessor, according...

Another Way of Looking at the Pension Crisis LewRockwell

Money manager Rob Arnott and finance professor Lisa Meulbroek have run the numbers on underfunded pension plans and come up with an interesting and highly concerning new angle: That they impose a stealth mortgage on homeowners. Heres how the Wall Street Journal reported it today:

The Stealth Pension Mortgage on Your House

Most cities, counties and states have committed taxpayers to significant future unfunded spending. This mostly takes the form of pension and postretirement health-care obligations for public employees, a burden that averages $75,000 per household but exceeds $100,000 per household in some states. Many states protect public pensions in their constitutions, meaning they cannot be renegotiated. Future pension obligations simply must be paid, either through higher taxes or cuts to public services.

Is there a way out for taxpayers in states that are deep in the red? Milton Friedman famously observed that the only thing more mobile than the wealthy is their capital. Some residents may hope that they can avoid the pension crash by decamping to a more fiscally sound state.

But this escape may be illusory. State taxes are collected on four economic activities: consumption (sales tax), labor and investment (income tax) and real-estate ownership (property tax). The affluent can escape sales and income taxes by moving to a new statebut real estate stays behind. Property values must ultimately support the obligations that politicians have promised, even if those obligations arent properly funded, because real estate is the only source of state and local revenue that cant pick up and move elsewhere. Whether or not unfunded obligations are paid with property taxes, its the property that backs the obligations in the end.

When property owners choose to sell and become tax refugees, they pass along the burden to the next owner. And buyers of properties in troubled states will demand lower prices if they expect property taxes to increase.

Christopher Robin LewRockwell

One of the most memorable books Ive read is Lev Grossmans 2009 fantasy novel The Magicians, in which a group of disaffected young adults stumbles into the Narnia-like world of their youthful imaginings. But rather than discovering hope and meaning, they find only a new canvas on which their worst, most hedonistic instincts play out. Its a haunting indictment of escapist impulses in fantasy literature.

Christopher Robina spiritual sequel to A.A. Milnes classic Winnie the Pooh stories centered on their human protagonist (Ewan McGregor)springs from a similar premise, but takes precisely the opposite thematic tack. If The Magicians is a story about the loss of innocence, Christopher Robin is a tale of regaining it.

As the film opens, Christopher bids farewell to his childhood companionsPooh, Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, and the restand departs the Hundred Acre Woods for boarding school. In an Up-style opening montage, we see his life unfold: being reprimanded by his teachers for daydreaming, mourning the sudden death of his father, meeting his wife Evelyn (Hayley Atwell), and struggling across the grisly battlefields of World War II.

Upon his return from the warand first meeting with his daughterChristopher takes a job as efficiency manager at a luggage manufacturer. We meet adult Christopher just as hes charged with reducing company expenses by 20 percent, a grim task likely involving headcount reduction. Whats more, the project will require him to work all weekend, forcing him to break a previous promise to accompany Evelyn and his daughter to the countryside.

Help is on the way though. The Hundred Acre Woods have grown dark and gloomy since Christophers departure, and Pooh wont stand for it. The beloved bear slips through a hidden gateway and into London, where hes promptly reunited with his old friend.

Got all that?

One things for sure: Christopher Robin is a strange sort of movie, one that, unusually for risk-averse Hollywood, doesnt clearly cater to a particular demographic. Its a slow, elegiac film, largely taken up with long scenes of Christopher and Pooh talking aboutIm not kiddingthe nature of the good life. And true to that sensibility, in this retelling Pooh occupies a space somewhere between Yoda and Socrates. Hes less interested in honey and pratfalls than in rekindling Christophers joy in being.

Its Christopher Robins depiction of the loss of that joy that hits the hardest (and likely resonates the least with young viewers). A key subplot, for instance, involves Christophers fixation on his daughters test results. When she asks him to read to her before bedtime, he immediately turns to a...

Is Trump Leading Us Right Into A Constitutional Crisis? In This Case, Are Republican Presidents Above The Law? DownWithTyranny!

Yesterday, CNN reported something that most of us already knew-- that Trump picked Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court because Kavanaugh has asserted that presidents are basically above the law. Manu Raju: "[I]n 2013 [Kavanaugh] asserted that it's a 'traditional exercise' of presidential power to ignore laws the White House views as unconstitutional, as he defended the controversial practice of signing statements prevalent in George W. Bush's White House.
The comments could put a renewed focus on Kavanaugh's time serving as White House staff secretary, who had a role in coordinating Bush's statements accompanying legislation he signed into law. Critics contend that the Bush White House abused the use of signing statements to ignore laws passed by Congress, though Bush and his allies said such statements were no different than the practices of other administrations.

Democrats have demanded full access to documents from Kavanaugh's tenure as staff secretary from 2003-2006 as part of his Supreme Court vetting process, citing in part his role over the Bush signing statements. But Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican, has rejected those demands, saying they are irrelevant to his nomination and a Democratic attempt to drag out the vetting process, which already includes hundreds of thousands of pages from other aspects of his career.

In 2013, Kavanaugh was speaking at Case Western Reserve Law School in Ohio when he was asked about signing statements, with the questioner noting that critics say that presidents can issue them to ignore provisions in laws they don't like.

JOHN SOLOMON BOMBSHELL: Bruce Ohr Discussed Getting Steele Back Into FBI AND MUELLER PROBE in July of 2017 The Gateway Pundit

John Solomon strikes again!

Investigative reporter John Solomon obtained text messages between twice-demoted DOJ official Bruce Ohr and dossier author Christopher Steele that are very damning to the Russia witch hunt.

Bruce Ohr, who worked directly under Rod Rosenstein, was discussing getting Christopher Steele back into the FBI in the summer of 2017after he was deemed not suitable and terminated for leaking to the media in November of 2016.

It gets worse

Beginning in July of 2017, Christopher Steele was sending urgent text messages to Bruce Ohr desperate to assist Robert Mueller in the Russia witch hunt.

Hi Bruce, hope youre enjoying the summer, Steele wrote Ohr on July 16, 2017. I spoke to my old colleagues last week and they assured me they would not stand in the way of our re-engagement with the Bureau.

John Solomon says spox for both Mueller and Rosenstein declined to tell him if their bosses knew about the Ohr backchannel to Steele or if Steele provided information after Mueller was appointed.

Solomon was however, shown a private letter to Congress revealing Rosenstein was supposedly unaware of Ohrs activities with Steele:

In a private letter to Congress, shown to me, Rosenstein declared he was unaware of Ohrs activities with Steele. Ohr was not assigned to the Russia investigation and he was not in the chain of command, Rosenstein wrote. Any involvement Mr. Ohr had in this matter was without my knowledge.

Via John Solomon of The Hill:

Whenever convenient, I would like a chat, theres a lot going on and we are frustrated with how long this re-engagement with the Bureau and Mueller is taking, Steele texted Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr on Aug. 6, 2017. Anything you could do to accelerate the process would be much appreciated.

Chris, good to hear from you, Ohr texted back as he proposed times when the two could discuss the idea.

The exchange one of several in which Steele proposed a return to the Russia probe  has captured the attention of investigators in Congress and the Department of Justice (DOJ). Some of them told me they are stunned that a top Rosenstein aide would even consider restoring Steele to the case, and with good reason.

JARED HOLT the Fascist Who Got Alex Jones Banned from Internet Works for Soros Funded Website The Gateway Pundit

Jared Holt is the far left fascist who got Alex Jones banned from Google-YouTube, Facebook, Apple, Spotify and email provider MailChimp.

Jared Holt works for the George Soros funded website Right Wing Watch.

Right Wing Watch says on its About Page the Soros funded group is a project of People For the American Way (PFAW) dedicated to monitoring and exposing the activities and rhetoric of right-wing activists and organizations in order to expose their extreme agenda.

People for the American Way says it is a progressive advocacy organization founded to fight right-wing extremism and to defend constitutional values including free expression.
Isnt that rich?

George Soros is a major donor for People for the American Way.

The Soros-funded group pressured the far left tech giants to ban Alex Jones and Infowars, a top pro-Trump website, just weeks before the 2018 election.

The timing isnt random. In recent weeks, a group of progressive activists has dialed up efforts to pressure these distribution platforms to drop Infowars. That pressure, which comes at a time when court proceedings against Jones have finally begun in earnest, created the momentum that led to this decision. This has been mentioned in passing in much of the coverage, but these folks deserve much more credit and recognition for the work theyve been doing in trying to fight right-wing disinformation campaigns.

Infowars is not alone.

VIDEO: Antifa Beats Security Guard, Berates Black Woman At Portland City Hall Protest The Gateway Pundit

Chaos once again ruled the day in Portland, where the latest round of unhinged, far left protesters are taking their angst out on the mayor and other officials at city hall, in response to the police actions taken against antifa agitators at this past Saturdays dueling protests. As the violent communists were being driven out of city hall today, things turned violent when one of the masked hooligans started beating a security guard in the head with a megaphone. In another instance, a fat white female protester is seen screaming obscenities at a black woman who apparently works at city hall. Ahh, yes, these are the people who claim that everyone against them is racist.

The Oregonian reports:

A protest against police brutality itself turned violent Wednesday when activists attempted to storm Portland City Hall, clobbered one security guard and scuffled with several others.

It was the biggest disruption to a Portland City Council meeting in more than a year, but the Council did not address the substance of protesters ire: violent crowd control techniques used by police during a large counter-demonstration downtown Saturday.

Some of those who say they were injured by officers dressed in military gear and wielding batons or non-lethal munitions were on scene Wednesday, trying to speak with city officials.

One demonstrator, who was masked and wearing a baseball helmet, smashed a security guard over the head repeatedly with a megaphone. The guard was seen afterward clutching a bag of ice, a bruise beginning to form on his cheek.

City Hall security chief Dorothy Elmore said she was also struck by a protester, in the arm.

An unidentified man, bandana-clad and lying on the floor outside the mayors office, was detained and carried out of City Hall by his arms and legs. Cops also arrested Diane Keeauver, 67, said Sgt. Chris Burley, a Portland police spokesman.

Each face second-degree trespassing charges, Burley said.

SARA CARTER: New Bruce Ohr Docs Mentioning Strzok and Page Raise Serious Questions With Investigators The Gateway Pundit

Hundreds of documents from twice-demoted DOJ official Bruce Ohr have been handed over to Congressional investigators over the last couple weeks and are slowly dripping out to reporters.

On Wednesday, investigative reporter, Sara Carter said new Bruce Ohr notes mentioning former FBI lawyer Lisa Page and her lover former FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok raises serious questions.

Via Sara Carter:

A law enforcement sensitive document written by senior Justice Department official, Bruce Ohr, is raising serious concerns amongst congressional investigators regarding testimony provided to Congress on the involvement of FBI special agents in the probe into the Trump campaign and its alleged Russian ties.

Nov. 21, 2016, the handwritten document lists former FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok, his paramour FBI Attorney Lisa Page and Special Agent Joe Pientka (who along with Strzok interviewed former National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn).

Pages name on Ohrs notes raises a number of questions, particularly since she would not have normally been involved in national security investigations, a congressional investigator said. It also raises a number of questions regarding McCabes possible involvement and whether was he authorizing any meetings or communications with Ohr in regard to the Trump investigation, the investigators noted.

Another congressional investigator told SaraACarter.com that the notes written by Ohr raise concerns of previously undisclosed communications with the FBI and Ohr and how extensive these communications were. It also raises concerns about testimony given by Lisa Page, who downplayed her interactions with Ohr in her (July 13) testimony to Congress.

The notes at the bottom of the memo state, in sloppy writing, no prosecution yet, pushing ahead on M case, in reference to Paul Manafort, who is now facing years old charges on financial crimes and money laundering, according to congressional investigators.

On Tuesday evening, investigative reporter, John Solomon dropped a bombshell when he released several exchanges between Bruce Ohr and Christopher Steele revealing they continued to communicate well into 2017after Steele was terminated by the FBI.

Although memos show the FBI specifically instructed Steele he could no longer operate to obtain any intelligence whatsoever on behalf of the FBI, Bruce Ohr continued to be the...

It doesn't happen that frequently that we get to test political approaches in the real world and see actual results. Something that I expect to hurt vulnerable red state Senate Democrats: playing the Republican-lite game before the election.

Joe Donnelly (D-IN) was in the House before a Hail Mary pass and a lunatic Republican candidate thrust him into the Senate. Donnelly was House Blue Dog and an unremarkable backbencher who spent more time worrying about how to keep his career going than how to serve his constituents. His voting record was a stinker but... better than a Republican. That still describes him. Just this morning Donnelly said he supports giving Trump billions of dollars for his border wall this fall. "Im fine with providing him some more. I actually voted for border wall funding three different times." He has a solid "F" from ProgressivePunch and his crucial vote score makes him the 4th worst Democrat in the Senate. Only Doug Jones (AL), Joe Manchin (WV) and Heidi Heitkamp (ND) have worse records. Breaking: Sean Hannity Confronts Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on Shadow-Banning of Conservatives (VIDEO) The Gateway Pundit

A recent study by the leftist website VICE News found that Twitter is censoring top pro-Trump lawmakers.

Twitter is targeting pro-Trump Republican lawmakers Matt Gaetz, Devin Nunes, Mark Meadows, Jim Jordan and John Ratcliffe with the same shadowbanning technique.

Twitter is also censoring prominent pro-Trump accounts including: Mike Cernovich, Jack Posobiec, Paul Joseph Watson, TGPs Jim Hoft, TGPs Cassandra Fairbanks, TGPs Lucian Wintrich, TGPs Cristina Laila and Laura Loomer among others.

House Intel Committee Chair Devin Nunes told FBN host Maria Bartiromo in July that the House is looking at legal remedies to deal with Twitters censorship of conservative voices.

Now that Congress threatened to take action against the social media giant CEO Jack Dorsey went on with Sean Hannity today to defend his company.

Sean Hannity asked Jack Dorsey if Twitter shadow-banned conservatives.
Here is Jacks response:

We do not shadow ban according to political ideology, viewpoint or content, period. Every model we have on the network is really looking at behaviors on the network.
We take those behaviors as signals evolve minute by minute, hour by hour.

In an undercover investigation in January 2018, James OKeefe and Project Veritas revealed eight current and former Twitter employees are on camera explaining steps the social media giant is taking to censor political content that they dont like.

TWO REPUBLICAN FOXES OVERSEEING TWO ELECTORAL HENHOUSES No More Mister Nice Blog

Yeah, this seems legit:

No law requires Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach to recuse himself from a recount in the governors race....

Republican legislative leaders said Wednesday morning that a recount is almost certain and could possibly take weeks....

Kobach, the states top election official, narrowly led Gov. Jeff Colyer in the Republican primary by a mere 191 votes Wednesday morning after each of the states 105 counties had posted election returns....

Theres nothing in the statute that says the secretary has to recuse himself, said Mark Johnson, a partner at the Kansas City law firm Dentons who has experience in election law. But I would have to believe that in a situation like this, the secretary would be well advised to remove any appearance of impropriety.
Somehow I don't think that recusal will happen. And Kobach will also get to oversee the general election if he advances to it. Maybe there ought to be a law against that -- or, given that this is a state issue, fifty laws.

Kobach, of course, pushed phony claims of voter fraud as the driving force behind the Trump administration's election integrity commission. Also, according to The Kansas City Star, Kobach earned big bucks recommending that small towns pass a draconian anti-immigrant initiative while offering himself as a legal defender of the initiative, which was regularly rejected in court. Kobach made money; towns went broke. That guy is going to oversee a recount and then a general election involving himself?

But he's not the only democracy-averse Republican secretary of state who might get to rule on a gubernatorial election in which he's the candidate. There's also Brian Kemp in Georgia, who's in a tight race with Democrat Stacey Abrams. Democracy doesn't always go well in Georgia, as we learned this week:
It appeared, according to the Georgia Secretary of States website, that Habersham Countys Mud Creek precinct in northeastern Georgia had 276 registered voters ahead of the states primary elections in May.

Some 670 ballots were cast, according to the Georgia secretary of states office, indicating a 243 percent turnout.

NASTY PELOSI Calls Republicans a Rampant Culture of Corruption After GOP Rep Arrested For Securities Fraud The Gateway Pundit

Congressman Chris Collins (R-NY)

Congressman Chris Collins, a Republican (and 1st lawmaker to endorse Trump) representing the 27th district in New York, was arrested for securities fraud on Wednesday.

The Congressman pleaded not guilty.

Nancy Pelosi, one of the wealthiest members of Congress said on Wednesday that the charges against Collins show the rampant corruption and self-enrichment among Republicans in Washington today.

Does anyone in the media have the guts to ask Pelosi, Feinstein and Maxine Waters how theyre worth millions of dollars on a relatively modest salary?

Feinsteins husband raked in millions of dollars on his Chinese investments whilst a Chinese spy worked for the Democrat Senator for 20 years, but only the Republicans have a problem with corruption and self-enrichment according to Pelosi.

The NY Daily News reported:

The Republican lawmaker, one of President Trumps earliest supporters, is accused of sharing inside information about a biotechnology company with his son and the father of his sons fiance in a scheme that allowed them to dodge nearly $800,000 in stock losses, prosecutors say.

Manhattan federal prosecutors say the upstate New York congressman was at a White House picnic when he tipped off his son Cameron Collins, 25, that a new multiple sclerosis drug had failed a medical trial a crushing blow for a company whose fate rested with the medication.

Cameron Collins immediately dumped more than 1 million shares of Innate stock and passed along the news to his fiances father Stephen Zarsky, 66, and others, the indictment says.

The public announcement of the failed drug trials caused the Innate stock price to plummet 92%. By dumping their shares early, the Collins clan managed to skirt stock losses totaling $768,000, the indictment says.

Congressman Collins cheated our markets and our justice system in two ways, Ber...

SHOCK VIDEO=> NANCY PELOSI: Voting for Democrats Gives Leverage to Illegal Immigrants The Gateway Pundit

Democrat leader comes clean on illegal immigration Admits Democrats are an illegals best friend!

Minority leader Nancy Pelosi told supporters in El Paso, Texas, a border city on the US-Mexico divide, that Democrats give leverage to illegals.

What an AMAZING ADMISSION!

And, of course, she conflates legal immigration with illegal immigration.

Nancy Pelosi: I dont want to be political here And so because this is the right thing to do, I have confidence that we will get where we need to go. But everything is about time and we want to shorten the distance as your question indicated between what we think is inevitable for America. They think is inconceivable but we believe that we can get this done. We are not going to be able to get it done under the Republican leadership in Congress. We believe that we will have leverage when we win in November. And why is that important? Because it gives leverage to every family, to every mom who courageously brought her child across the desert to escape, to escape death, rape, gang violence and the rest. Because it gives hope, because of the leverage it gives to families who may have followed dad home for a family funeral and now cant come into the country. As all of those injustices have to be corrected. Theres a path and that path is greatly brightened by the knowledge that is in this community who sees first hand simple solutions which make a big difference in peoples lives. And so were getting ready for this and its only to come back to a place that honors our values, recognizes the importance of immigration to the success of America.

Muslim Siraj Ibn Wahhaj Was Training Abused Kids at New Mexico Shelter to Commit Mass Shootings at Schools The Gateway Pundit

Muslim Siraj Ibn Wahhaj was arrested last week at a compound in New Mexico.
Wahhaj was training children to commit mass shootings at US schools.

Siraj ibn Wahhaj is the son of a Brooklyn imam who was named as a possible co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

KWCH reported:

The father of a missing Georgia boy was training children at a New Mexico compound to commit school shootings, prosecutors said in court documents obtained Wednesday.

The documents say Siraj Ibn Wahhaj was conducting weapons training with assault rifles at the compound near the Colorado border where 11 hungry children were found in filthy conditions.

Prosecutors Timothy Hasson filed the documents while asking that Wahhaj be held without bail after he was arrested last week with four other adults facing child abuse charges.

Prosecutors did not bring up the school shooting accusation in court on Wednesday during an initial appearance by the abuse suspects.

Authorities say the remains of a boy also were found on the compound but have not been positively identified by medical examiners.

The child, Abdul-ghani Wahhaj went missing in December in Jonesboro, Georgia, near Atlanta.

Authorities say his father had told the boys mother that he wanted to perform an exorcism on the child. He later said he was taking the child to a park and didnt return.

R Congressman Collins Who Served As Congressional Liason For Trump Transition Team Arrested By FBI: Charged With Insider Trading And Lying To FBI; Could Go To Jail For Decades Mining Awareness +

Republican Congressman Collins was the first sitting Congressman to endorse Trump for President. He served as Congressional liaison between Congress and the Trump Transition team. He could get decades in prison, as could his son. They can really put the squeeze on him to get info on Trump and others. This summer, its hotter some places than others

Representative Collins, who, by virtue of his office, helps write the laws of this country, acted as if the law did not apply to him.  These charges are a reminder that this is a nation of laws, and everyone stands equal before the bar of justice.  The charges demonstrate again that no matter what the alleged crime, or who allegedly committed it, we stand dedicated to the pursuit of justice, without fear or favor. (U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. COURTROOM DRAMA=> Manafort Lawyers Accuse Rick Gates of FOUR Extra-Marital Affairs, Lying to Special Counsel The Gateway Pundit

The courtroom drama spilled into Wednesday as Manaforts lawyers continued to blast Rick Gates in a withering cross-examination.

Manaforts lawyers accused Rick Gates of having four extra-marital affairs and suggested he lied to Muellers prosecutors about it, which could put his plea deal in jeopardy.

According to reporters present, there was an audible gasp in the courtroom after Rick Gates was accused of having four extra-marital affairs.

Gates testified Tuesday he told his wife about his extra-marital affair.

BLOODY RED KILLER TIDE TOXIC LEVELS OFF THE CHARTS! THE MARSHALL REPORT

Erin Brockovich has just reported that the South Florida Clean Water Movement water tests for RED TIDE results are in taken from the south end of Fort Myers Beach by Lovers Key State Park.

The harmful threshold for RED TIDE is 100 cells/L. The state and federal government detection limit stops at 1 million cells/L.

captain david 38686085_10160750639895494_6838359873999077376_n

The actual laboratory results that came back from the lab are over 3 million cells/L! The toxic and deadly conditions are not going to be going away anytime soon.

So there it is folks, toxic levels off the charts and 2 million extra cells that they dont even have a detection limit for.  Guess even the state and federal government never even thought things could get this bad.  Or did they have a detection limit set in place so no one would ever know when it is over a million?  Who knows for sure, after all they always tell us everything right?  Wrong!

Facebook Unblocks California Republicans Ad But Elizabeth Heng Still Wants an Apology The Gateway Pundit

Elizabeth Heng is running for Congress in Californias 16th Congressional District as a Republican.

Elizabeth was raised in Fresno where her family instilled a strong work ethic. As a child, she worked at her parents Asian grocery store. She attended public school and was class Valedictorian at Sunnyside High School in Fresno.

This week Elizabeth Heng posted a video describing scenes of horrific events her parents went through in Cambodia.
Her parents escaped the Communist regime in Cambodia to resettle in California.

THIS VIDEO IS PHENOMENAL! YOU MUST TAKE THE TIME TO WATCH IT

Facebook rejected Elizabeths video because it was too shocking.

History is TOO CONTROVERSIAL for Facebook.

Elizabeth is a Republican.

THIS ONLY SEEMS TO HAPPEN TO REPUBLICANS FOR SOME STRANGE REASON?

Well after the national outcry against the biased social media platform Facebook unblocked Hengs video.

But Republican Elizabeth Heng also wants an apology.
Legal Insurrection reported:

Facebook lifted Tuesday its block on Republican Elizabeth Hengs campaign ad, but the California congressional candidate said the company still owes her a public apology.

Im deeply disappointed that Facebook would not give me a public apology for targeting a conservative candidate for Congress, she said in a statement. It took them 5 days and an immense amount of pressure before they realized that they deliberately blocked my history and my story.

After a deluge of criticism on the right, a Facebook spokesperson said Tuesday that the ad had been cleared for distribution.

Upon further review, it is clear the video contains historical imagery relevant to the candidates story, said Facebook in an email to the Washington Times. We have since approved the ad and it is now running on Facebook.

Inside Googles Effort to Develop a Censored Search Engine in China The Intercept

Google analyzed search terms entered into a Beijing-based website to help develop blacklists for a censored search engine it has been planning to launch in China, according to confidential documents seen by The Intercept.

Engineers working on the censorship sampled search queries from 265.com, a Chinese-language web directory service owned by Google.

Unlike Google.com and other Google services, such as YouTube, 265.com is not blocked in China by the countrys so-called Great Firewall, which restricts access to websites deemed undesirable by the ruling Communist Party regime.

265.com was founded in 2003 by Cai Wensheng, a Chinese entrepreneur known as the the godfather of Chinese webmasters. In 2008, Google acquired the website, which it now operates as a subsidiary. Records show that 265.com is hosted on Google servers, but its physical address is listed under the name of the Beijing Guxiang Information and Technology Co., which is based out of an office building in northwest Beijings Haidian district.

265.com provides news updates, links to information about financial markets, and advertisements for cheap flights and hotels. It also has a function that allows people to search for websites, images, videos, and other content. However, search queries entered on 265.com are redirected to Baidu, the most popular search engine in China and Googles main competitor in the country.

It appears that Google has used 265.com as a de facto honeypot for market research, storing information about Chinese users searches before sending them along to Baidu. Googles use of 265.com offers an insight into the mechanics behind its planned Chinese censored search platform, code-named Dragonfly, which the company has been preparing since spring 2017.

Yesterday's Elections-- The Good, The Bad And The Ugly DownWithTyranny!

There was no primary or special election in North Carolina yesterday and the Democratic candidate, Dan McCready, is a Blue Dog who will be voting frequently with the GOP when he gets into Congress-- Blue Dogs always do. But with the existential danger of Trump hanging over us, with have to hold our noses and hope congressional candidates like McCready win. And in this case, we probably don't have to hope too hard, because he's very likely to win. His opponent, far right crackpot Mark Harris (R) keeps saying women must submit to their husbands. I'm sure there are some people who will love that message. But not enough to win in a district that includes lots of well-off suburbs of both Charlotte and Fayetteville. He also keep denouncing homosexually as "evil." Harris is from another time and another North Carolina.

One more thing before I get to yesterday's results. 43% of Republicans-- not 43% of voters, just members of the Trump Party-- think Trump should be able top shut down media outlets he doesn't agree with. I guess, as a people, as a nation, we need to shut down the GOP.

First contest to be decided was the Ohio special election to replace Pat Tiberi in a very gerrymandered, very Republican district, OH-12 (PVI is R+7 and Trump beat Hillary there 53.2% to 41.9%). These were the early votes before any election day precincts came in. Encouraging, huh:

DHS Arrests Immigrant Attempting to Enter US with Young Girl He Was Raping The Gateway Pundit

DHS arrested immigrant Ramon Pedro this week after they found he attempted to enter the US with a young girl he was raping.

The girls mother turned the child over to the predator in exchange for a job.

The Washington Times reported:

A woman turned her juvenile daughter over to a sexual predator to sneak them both into the U.S. in exchange for getting the mother a job, Homeland Security officials said Tuesday, detailing one of the horrific abuses that migrants are able to make of the immigration system.

The man, Ramon Pedro, showed up at a land border crossing in Texas in April, said he was traveling with his daughter, and demanded entry into the U.S., the government says. They were processed and released under the expectation they would return for their immigration proceedings.

But late last month, the man and girl were admitted to a hospital in Fresno, California, for tuberculosis screening and the doctors discovered the girl had been sexually assaulted.

The hospital then figured out the girl wasnt related to Mr. Pedro at all.

In fact, the victims mother told her daughter to accompany Pedro to the United States and he would secure her employment, a Homeland Security official said.

The Huron Police Department arrested Mr. Pedro for rape, forcible sexual penetration, child endangerment and other related charges. He is being held on a $310,000 bond, according to Homeland Security.

The horrifying case comes as the surge of families and those portraying themselves as families in order to take advantage of immigration policies has roiled the immigration debate.

But it didnt quite work out the way she wanted.

Unfortunately, for Democrats Middle America is not jumping on board their Socialist crazy train.

Ocasio got swept Tuesday in Democrat primaries.

American Mirror reported:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortezs record on Tuesday night for her chosen primary candidates was as bare as a Venezuelan supermarket shelf.

The socialist pulled off a stunning victory last month in New York, and is now attempting to parlay that win into helping other leftists win Democratic primaries.

Cortez held a whirl-wind tour of the U.S., stumping for Abdul El-Sayed for governor of Michigan, Fayrouz Saad in Michigans 11th Congressional District, Cori Bush in Missouris 1st District, and is backing Congressional candidate Kaniela Ing in Hawaii.

El-Sayed lost his bid for the Democrat nomination for governor to 51.8 percent to 30.5 percent, according to numbers published by the New York Times.

Saad came in fourth in the five-way race, capturing only 18 percent of the vote.

Cori Bush lost her primary to William Lacy Clay, 56.7 percent to 36.9 percent, the Times results show.

WHY I'M NOT ANGRY AT THE GREENS No More Mister Nice Blog

Despite what you may have heard, Republican Troy Balderson's lead over Democrat Danny O'Connor in the OH-12 special House election is now greater than the number of votes won by Green Party candidate Joe Manchik:

Balderson's lead is 1754 votes. Manchik won 1127. So far, it's not true that the Greens cost the Democrats this one.

Once provisional ballots are counted, that could change. But even if the margin narrows to a smaller number than Manchik's total vote, I still won't be as angry as I was in November 2016 or November 2000.

Winning this one would have been great (and it's still theoretically possible). But this wasn't a critical victory. It's nothing like a presidential election. All by itself, it was never going to flip party control of the House. And even though they may have won, it's still a gut punch to Republicans.

Do you know what percentage of the vote the Democrat got in this district in the 2016 House race? It was 29.8%. Granted, the Republican was an incumbent, Patrick Tiberi. But still -- 29.8%. This is nearly a 20-point gain for Democrats in the district. If Democrats overperform that way (or even half as much) across the country in November, they've got the House.

And there'll be a rematch between these two guys in the same district in November (no, I don't know why Ohio bothered with a special election three months before a scheduled general election). By November, if Balderson is declared the winner in this election, he may represent a party that's shut down the government. Democrats could win this seat then.

In 2016, the Green candidate (it was Manchik then, too) got 3.6% of the vote; this year, he got only 0.6%. I wish the decline had been even greater -- but I feel better about the Democrats' chances in November than I did a week ago, and this election is why.

The High Stakes of the 2019 European Elections Heat Up The Gateway Pundit

Guest post Felipe Cuello

Every legislature in the world has one primary duty around which its other lawgiving functions revolve: The power of the purse.

Whatever hare-brained schemes any executive comes up with are limited, by design, by the directly elected representatives of the people. Funding an initiative is in a sense more powerful than its passing into law without the money to enforce its will, the resolution amounts simply to an expression of sympathy with whatever cause it purports to advance. nothing more.

There is one legislature that is an exception to this rule: The European Parliament.

Stripped of legislative initiative, Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) are not allowed to propose their own bills, much less a spending commitment. As the only democratically elected organ of the EU, this is, on its own, a travesty, buttressing the democratic deficit evident at all levels of EU policymaking. The European Unions Budget, a modest 150 billion euros yearly, is decided on a 7-year basis, after being proposed by the European Commission, not its Parliament.
An executive that proposes its own budget?

To make matters worse, look to the circumstances playing out in Brussels these very days: President Junckers Commission (the EUs executive branch) set forth its proposal in May. While this budget still has to make it through the European Council of finance ministers as well as a plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, there are many reasons to wish for its failure as a bill.

The first baffling conclusion to draw from this state of things is the lack of any reduction in spending despite the exit of one of the EUs richest members: The UKs contribution to the EU budget is substantial and will no longer be forthcoming after the end of the transition period following Britains exit next May.

More importantly, there is only one serious consequence of a European Parliament election: the incoming parliaments subsequent selection of the President of the Commission. President Juncker isnt running for re-election, throwing the race wide open to all comers.

The ruling European Peoples Party (EPP) whos main member is Angela Merkels CDU is not guaranteed re-election, especially given the collapse of their Socialist (S&D) coalition partners all over Europe. Why, then, should President Junckers lame-duck presidency get to decide something so important as the budget for the whole next legislative term?

This is nonsense.

Anti-democratic behavior of this stripe shoul...

Refugees and the Syrian End Game bensozia

The civil war in Syria is winding down across much of the country, because the government has won. As you can see from the map above, the government (red) now controls all the inhabited areas in the south and center of the country and is slowly constricting the remaining rebels in the north. What remains of Aleppo is in government hands. The yellow area is under the control of Kurdish militias and their American advisers, and so far the Kurds have remained mostly at peace with the government.

So especially in the south those communities that have been hosting thousands of Syrian refugees are eager to see them go home:
Seven years of war in Syria has displaced more than half the countrys population, leaving millions of refugees shipwrecked between the wasteland of home and the void of exile. Among the many Lebanese and Jordanian towns that received them was Arsal, where rented rooms and tent cities overflowed at one point with 120,000 Syrians quadruple its Lebanese population.

But with the Syrian government closing in on victory, President Bashar al-Assad declaring the country safe for Syrians again and their reluctant Lebanese hosts pressing them to leave, the Syrian refugees are now beginning to set out on the fraught road home.

Over the past month, convoys carrying nearly 2,000 Syrians have crossed the border, returning families to the homes they had abandoned years ago though few knew whether those homes had survived the bombs and shells.
I consider this great news. On the other hand certain other news shows why so many Syrians hate the Assad regime so much, and why western governments keep saying that the problem can't be solved so long as Assad remains in power:
But many may be stuck in Lebanon. Thousands of Syrians in Arsal have applied to return, only to be rejected by Mr. Assads government. Many more say they believe that if Mr. Assad remains in power, the outcome tacitly accepted by the global powers haggling over Syrias future, they have only arrest, torture, death or forced conscription to return to.

Here, Im a refugee, said a former Syrian soldier who asked to be identified by his nom de guerre, Abu Fares. In Syria, Im a traitor....

Muellers Star Witness Rick Gates Falls Apart During Cross-Examination by Manafort Lawyers Perjures Himself The Gateway Pundit

Paul Manaforts legal team painted Rick Gates, a former business associate to Manafort as a liar who embezzled millions of dollars to fund his secret life with his mistress in a blistering cross-examination Tuesday.

Rick Gates previously pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with Mueller; he was even referred to as the Special Counsels star witness.

On Tuesday, the Special Counsels star witness Rick Gates fell apart during the cross-examination and perjured himself which is very damning for the prosecution.

Gates appeared nervous on Tuesday, using the phrases its possible and I dont recall many times as he was grilled by Manaforts lawyers, reported The Guardian.

Manaforts lawyers continued to erode Gates credibility. At one point Manaforts lawyer Kevin Downing asked Gates, After all the lies youve told and fraud youve committed, you expect this jury to believe you?

Yes. Gates replied.

Tuesdays court transcripts are in and it shows Rick Gates completely fell apart, lied many times and perjured himselfwhich of course infuriated Judge Ellis.

A lawyer who obtained Tuesdays transcripts breaks down the courtroom drama and shows where Rick Gates was caught lying and committed perjury.

Follow the thread via Techno Fog:

One thing is clear: Gates is lying and the Special Counsel has suborned perjury with their star witness.

If Conservatives Can Buy Both Parties, They Won't Need To Worry Who Wins Those Bothersome Elections DownWithTyranny!

Jacobson- Rabid fox in the hen house

On Sunday we looked at a relatively new phenomenon happening in American politics right now: conservative-- usually Republican-- billionaires investing huge sums of money in Democratic primaries. We spoke specifically about how the web of shady SuperPACs that prop up the Republican-lite organization, No Labels, is pouring hundreds of thousands of last minute dollars into the Orlando-area seat that progressive Alan Grayson is trying to reclaim from right-of-center New Dem Darren Soto.

It's a district too blue for a Republican so big right wing money wants to make sure it's at least represented by a DINO with GOP tendencies-- like Soto. And certainly not by a skilled and effective progressive warrior like Grayson. Last week, for example, James Rupert Murdoch put another half million dollars into the battle through the No Labels web. And he isn't only only right-wing billionaire doing the same thing this cycle-- nor is the Grayson v Soto fight the only one where wealthy Republicans are testing out their ability to take over the Democratic Party with cash.

As I mentioned, No Labels head honcho, Nancy Jacobson, who is widely considered one of the most vicious and destructive players in American politics, runs a dark web...

Midnight Meme Of The Day! DownWithTyranny!

by Noah
"If you go out and you want to buy groceries, you need a picture on a card, you need ID. You go out, you want to buy anything, you need ID, you need your picture."
- Donald J. Trump, Traitor
Oh, we've got you ID'd Donnie. We've got you ID'd alright. We don't need to see a photo ID to know who and what you are. At this point we don't even need Robert Mueller to tell us what you are. That's just a legal formality and a means to whatever end. We have eyes. We have ears. We've seen your tweets. We've seen you on TV as you revel in your disloyalty.

No matter what we hear from the Mueller Investigation, a simple question that we may never know the answer to is this: At what point in his life did Donald J. Trump decide to sell out his country for rubles? Was it during his 2013 trip to Russia or before? Will some future biographer or investigator pin it down to an actual hour? A specific meeting? If so, with whom? The bottom line is that it doesn't really matter. We know enough. It's just a detail of the treachery that future historians will want to know, just like they want every detail about what what was going on in Benedict Arnold's mind as he tried to sell out the American Revolution, the minds of the Rosenbergs as they passed nuke secrets, or, say the mind of Carlos Marcello on 11/22/63. Eventually, something that at least approaches the truth comes out but it often takes decades. My guess is that the details about Trump will be so horrible that the powers that be will wrongly decide that we can't handle the truth, just like they did with Watergate and with Dallas. That decision will be, as much as anything, done to preserve the corrupt system that enabled Trump to become president in the first place. And, because of that, something similar will happen again in a few decades time.

So you know, Traitor Don, Benedict Arnold di...

The GSENM area has been inhabited by man for more than 13,000 years. Projectile points (arrowheads), other tools, pottery shards, rock art, camp sites, and residential Ancestral Puebloan sites such as pit houses can be found across the landscape. Lockheed Martin Corporation/Mission Support Alliance Employee Enters Settlement of Alleged False Claims Act Violations in Connection With Contracts at Hanford Nuclear Site Mining Awareness +

From US DOJ:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tuesday, August 7, 2018
Lockheed Martin Corporation/Mission Support Alliance Employee Enters Settlement of Alleged False Claims Act Violations in Connection With Contracts at Hanford Site

The Justice Department announced today that Richard A. Olsen agreed to pay $124,440 to resolve claims that he violated the False Claims Act by submitting inflated prices in connection with a subcontract between Mission Support Alliance, LLC (MSA), a prime contractor at the Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Nuclear Reservation, and Lockheed Martin Services, Inc. (LMSI), a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC).  LMSI provided services to MSA as well as other prime contractors assisting with environmental cleanup services at the Hanford site near Richland, Washington.  Mr. Olsen was an employee of LMC working for MSA.  LMC, through a subsidiary, was one of the owners of MSA.

We are committed to maintaining the integrity of the federal governments procurement process, said Acting Assistant Attorney General Chad A. Readler of the Justice Departments Civil Division.  This investigation and its resolution demonstrate that the Justice Department will work with its agency partners to protect public funds and ensure they are used for their intended purposes.

In August 2009, MSA began performance under a multi-billion dollar services contract with the DOE for the environmental cleanup of the Hanford Site.  The United States alleged that under the terms of MSAs contract with DOE, LMSI, as an affiliate of MSA, was not entitled to receive profit on the work it performed for MSA. The United States further alleged that Mr. Olsen, while he was an employee of LMC working for MSA, falsely represented to DOE that the LMSI subcontract did not include any profit.  Mr. Olsen allegedly received a payment of at least $41,480 from LMC for obtaining DOEs consent to the inflated LMSI subcontract.

This settlement requires Mr. Olsen to pay back three times the amount he received from the alleged fraud and holds Mr. Olsen accountable for his actions, said Joseph H. Harrington, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington.   It also sends a strong message to those individuals who may engage in similar conduct.  I commend the outstanding investigative work performed by the Department of Energy Office of Inspector General, which made this resolution possible.

The Department of Energy Office of Inspector General is committed to ensuring the integrity of our contractors and subcontractors by detecting and holding accountable those who choose to engage in false claim and kickback schemes, said DOEs Acting Inspector General April G. Stephenson. This settlement is a result of our staffs dedicated work to ensure the government is not charged with false and inflated claims.  We appreciate the efforts of the DOJ in pursuin...

A Force for Evil LewRockwell

Many of the nations colleges have become a force for evil and a focal point for the destruction of traditional American values. The threat to our future lies in the fact that todays college students are tomorrows teachers, professors, judges, attorneys, legislators and policymakers. A recent Brookings Institution poll suggests that nearly half of college students believe that hate speech is not protected by the First Amendment. Of course, it is. Fifty-one percent of students think that its acceptable to shout down a speaker with whom they disagree. About 20 percent of students hold that its acceptable to use violence to prevent a speaker from speaking. Over 50 percent say colleges should prohibit speech and viewpoints that might offend certain people (http://tinyurl.com/yayxt45u). Contempt for the First Amendment and other constitutional guarantees is probably shared by the students high school teachers, as well as many college professors.

Brainwashing and indoctrination of young people has produced some predictable results, as shown by a recent Gallup Poll. For the past 18 years, Gallup has asked adults how proud they are to be Americans. This year, only 47 percent say they are extremely proud, well below the peak of 70 percent in 2003. The least proud to be Americans are nonwhites, young adults and college graduates. The proudest Americans are those older than 50 and those who did not graduate from college. The latter might be explained by their limited exposure to Americas academic elite (http://tinyurl.com/y8wapel5).

Johnetta Benton, a teacher at Hampton Middle School near Atlanta, was recorded telling her sixth-grade students, America has never been great for minorities. In a tirade, she told her class: Because Europeans came from Europe you are an immigrant. You are an illegal immigrant because you came and just took it. You are an immigrant. This is not your country. To exploit young, immature young people this way represents an act of supreme cowardice. The teacher should be fired, but Im guessing that her colleagues share her sympathies. At the same school, students were given a homework assignment that required them to write a letter asking lawmakers for stricter gun control laws.

One might be tempted to arg...

Outsourcing the Police State LewRockwell

So were now trusting the capitalist class, massive, unaccountable corporations, to decide on our behalf what we may listen to and talk about? This is the take-home message, the terrible take-home message, of the expulsion of Alex Jones Infowars network from Apple, Facebook and Spotify and of the wild whoops of delight that this summary banning generated among so-called liberals: that people are now okay with allowing global capitalism to govern the public sphere and to decree what is sayable and what is unsayable. Corporate censorship, liberals new favourite thing how bizarre.

We live in strange times. On one hand it is fashionable to hate capitalism these days. No middle-class home is complete without a Naomi Klein tome; making memes of Marx is every twentysomething Corbynistas favourite pastime. But on the other hand we seem content to trust Silicon Valley, the new frontier in corporate power, to make moral judgements about what kind of content people should be able to see online. Radicals and liberals declared themselves very glad that these business elites enforced censorship against Jones and Infowars. We should be celebrating the move, said Vox, because it represents a crucial step forward in the fight against fake news. Liberals for capitalist censorship! The world just got that bit odder, and less free.

Over the past 24 hours, Jones and much of his Infowars channel has been summarily banned in the excitable words of Vox  from Apple, Facebook, Spotify and YouTube. Initially, Facebook and YouTube had taken only selective measures against Jones. In response to a Twitterstorm about his presence on these platforms, they took down some of his videos. But then Apple decided to ban Jones entirely removing all episodes of his podcast from its platform and the other online giants followed suit. Or as the thrilled liberal commentary put it: The dominoes started to fall. Despite having millions of subscribers, despite there being a public interest in what he has to say, Jones has been cast out of the world of social media, which is essentially the public square of the 21st century, on the basis that what he says is wicked.

This is censorship. There will of course be apologists for the corporate control of speech, on both the left and right, who will say, Its only censorship when the government does it!. They are so wrong. When enormous companies that have arguably become the facilitators of public debate expel someone and his ideas because they find them morally repugnant, that is censorship. Powerful people have deprived an individual and his network of a key space in which they might p...

The Social Media Purge LewRockwell

We are accustomed to predatory language from politicians, but this issuance from Connecticut Senator Chris Murphys twitter account yesterday is particularly telling:

When a politician, particularly a US senator, tells companies what they must do, there is a clear threat of government action if they dont. What exactly does Mr. Murphy imply for noncompliance? Harsh new regulations? Antitrust inquiries? Tax audits?

The word for this, as Justin Raimondo points out, is extortion.

Big Tech, however, is fully complicit in this era of growing soft censorship by ostensibly private companies. In the past 48 hours, several social media platforms   including Facebook, twitter, YouTube (Google) and iTunes (Apple) banned provocateur Alex Jones from their platforms. Jones often promoted guests like Dr. Ron Paul, Lew Rockwell, and Peter Schiff in the 1990s, when alternative voices were few and far between.

Twitter also suspended the accounts of Ron Paul Institute director Daniel McAdams, Antiwar.com editor Scott Horton, and retired US Foreign Service officer Peter Van Buren, three prominent libertarian and non-interventionist voices.

Senator Murphy did not have to lift a finger.

Yes, tech companies are private organizations with shareholders. Yes, nobody has a right to a platform, or a microphone, or an audience. Yes, nobody in America is being put in jail or fined by government for speech yet (so-called hate speech laws already are in place across the West, and supported by many voters in the US). We do not advocate regulation of social media or technology companies under common carrier/utility theories or some tenuous expansion of public accommodations laws.

But the unholy nexus of state and corporate power is at the core of the libertarian critique. Big Tech is deeply involved with government at many levels, from data collection to spying to developing weapons and AI to providing cloud space to noxious federal agencies. Tech companies derive their economic, social, and cultural power not only from their competence in the marketplace, but increasingly from their connection to the state as well.

It is precisely this alliance that gives rise to justified criticisms of a power elite. Taken to its ultimate conclusion, the alliance becomes openly fascist. In this sense libertarians have every justification to oppose...

Beyond Translation LewRockwell

The key to a successful career in any modern bureaucracy, it seems to me, is the mastery of and willingness to use a certain kind of language that is opaque and almost meaningless to an outsider. The mastery requires dedication, and the willingness a lack of scruple. It demands a certain intelligence, but not high intelligence. Mediocrities do it best because others are impatient of it.

The language is peculiar to itself and makes a speech by the late Leonid Brezhnev seem like a soliloquy by Hamlet. Full of neologisms, its words have connotations, but no definite meaning can be fixed to them. Vagueness is essential because only then can responsibility be denied when things go wrong. It is ugly and circumlocutory, but with occasional pseudo-poetic metaphors that are supposed to be inspirational but are as exciting as a cargo ships ballast.

This bureaucratese is ever more widespread. It is native to government, of course, but it is certainly not confined to government. Large companies employ it, as do educational institutions. A question that I have long pondered is whether anyone, in the privacy of his own mind, employs such language. I suspect that after a time those who employ it can use no other.

Bureaucratese has left few corners of our world uninvaded. It is to be found almost everywhere. A distinguished professor of architectural history, James Stevens Curl, who has just published a devastating exposure of the evils of architectural modernism, Making Dystopia, kindly forwarded to me the following announcement of a training course for a diploma offered by the Architectural Association. I give it in full because it is only thus that you can gauge the full monstrous absurdity of it:

Meta-Elements and Integrated Morphologies

The unit [of the diploma] will continue its disciplinary project on the city, engaging with the interdependencies between disparate domainsimagination and reality, concept and form, text and image. We assert the urgency of the evolved visionary project that is rooted in a deep knowledge of the contemporary European city and architectural history. This year we will conflate several scales and levels of work on new models for dis-continuity and coherence, tackling urban meta-elements as architectural diagrams and morphologies. Building upon our previous cities of multiplied utopias and artefacts, ruptured transfers, systems and frameworks and, ultimately, conceptual and spatial playgrounds in space-time, we will allow our pursuit of emerging urban models to inform new phases in the breakdown and re-integration of an architectural object itself. Our search will go beyond straightforward augmentationof Hyper-Buildings, Super-Blocks and Meta-Streetsas we try to circumscribe and categorise architectural segments of the city. And we will also question previous shortcuts in scale and complexityfrom containing diffused fields of architectural...

The Globalists LewRockwell

On meeting with the EUs Jean-Claude Juncker last month, Donald Trump tweeted: Both the U.S. and the E.U. drop all Tariffs, Barriers and Subsidies! That would finally be Free Market and Fair Trade.

Did Larry Kudlow somehow get access to Trumps phone?

We know not. But, on hearing this, Steve Forbes, Stephen Moore and Arthur Laffer broke into the Hallelujah chorus of Handels Messiah.

Amen, they thundered in The New York Times.

Trump should declare total trade disarmament to be national policy and make free trade his legacy to America. Such a proclamation, they wrote, would assure Trump the moral high ground in the global debate and transform him from evil disrupter of international commerce to potential savior.

For free trade is always and ever a win-win for trading partners.

To read the Times op-ed is to appreciate that what we are dealing with here is an ideology, a political religion, a creed, a cult.

For consider the fruits of free trade policy during the last 25 years: the frozen wages of U.S. workers, $12 trillion in U.S. trade deficits, 55,000 factories lost, 6 million manufacturing jobs gone, China surpassing the U.S in manufacturing, all causing a backlash that pushed a political novice to the Republican nomination and into the presidency.

To maintain a belief in the superiority of free trade to economic patriotism, in the face of such results, is to recognize that this belief system is impervious to contradictory proof.

Still, the enduring enthusiasm of free trade zealots is not the only sign that GOP globalists, having learned nothing and forgotten nothing, are looking to a post-Trump era to resurrect their repudiated dogmas.

In USA Today, Jeffrey Miron, director of economic studies at the libertarian flagship think tank Cato Institute, wrote last week:

The solution to Americas immigrant problems is open borders. Open borders means no walls, fences, screenings at airports, ICE deportations, detention centers or immigration courts.

And what would happen after we declare open borders?

Immigrants will not flood into America. Crime will not skyrocket. Even if values and culture change, so what? Who says Americas current values some of them deeply evil are the right ones?

Bottom line for Catos Miron: If we throw open Americas borders and invite the world to come in and to remake who we are as a nation, Think about the money we could save and make.

This is truly economics uber alles, economy before country.

Other open borders and free trade true believers have begun speaking out. Billionaire industrialist Charles Koch, a megadonor to the GOP, has just lashed out at Trump as &...

Bullies Win, Freedom Suffers When We Cant Agree To Disagree LewRockwell

Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech. Benjamin Franklin

What a mess.

As America has become ever more polarized, and those polarized factions have become more militant and less inclined to listen toor even allow for the existence ofother viewpoints, we are fast becoming a nation of people who just cant get along.

Heres the thing: if Americans dont learn how to get alongat the very least, agreeing to disagree and respecting each others right to subscribe to beliefs and opinions that may be offensive, hateful, intolerant or merely differentthen were going to soon find that we have no rights whatsoever (to speak, assemble, agree, disagree, protest, opt in, opt out, or forge our own paths as individuals).

In such an environment, when we cant agree to disagree, the bullies (on both sides) win and freedom suffers.

Intolerance, once the domain of the politically correct and self-righteous, has been institutionalized, normalized and politicized.

Even those who dare to defend speech that may be unpopular or hateful as a constitutional right are now accused of weaponizing the First Amendment.

On college campuses across the country, speakers whose views are deemed offensive to some of the student body are having their invitations recalled or cancelled, being shouted down by hecklers, or forced to hire costly security details. As The Washington Post concludes, College students support free speechunless it offends them.

At Hofstra University, half the students in a freshman class boycotted when the professor assigned them to read Flannery OConnors short story Artificial Nigger. As Professor Arthur Dobrin recounts, The boycotters refused to engage a writer who would use such an offensive word. They hadnt read the story; they wouldnt lower themselves to that level. Here is what they missed: The storys title refers to a lawn jockey, a once common ornament of a black man holding a lantern. The statue symbolizes the suffering of an entire group of people and looking at it bring a moment of insight to a racist old man.

Its not just college students who have lost their taste for diverse viewpoints and free speech.

In Charlottesville, Va., in the wake of a violent clash between the alt-right and alt-left over whether Confederate statues should remain standing in a community park, City Council meetings were routinely ...

The Social Media Crackdown LewRockwell

You know the story: Alex Jones was just hit with an obviously coordinated attack, having most of his podcasts de-listed by Apple, his presence removed from YouTube, and various other social media strikes.

I know these are private companies. I also know Im allowed to criticize what private companies do. (Im further aware that some people argue that the companies arent quite private, but thats a discussion for another day.)

Jones was punished for hate speech.

No examples were given.

Meanwhile, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) chimed in that we need more bans like this in order to save our democracy.

My reply on Twitter:

With the hysterical term white supremacist used to refer to virtually anyone the left dislikes, and with even some self-described libertarians deranged enough to insinuate that Ron Paul staffers may have been Nazi sympathizers, there really isnt much of a limit to what might be demonized as hate speech.

And with senators like Chris Murphy, you have a sense of what life will be like the more power the left gets.

By the way:

Yesterday Scott Horton, the libertarian foreign-policy expert, was suspended from Twitter. So was Daniel McAdams, executive director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity. Peter Van Buren, formerly of the State Department and a two-time guest on my show, seems to have been eliminated entirely.

Ive talked to the creators of Minds.com and Gab on my podcast, and its long past time to look into those.

I intend to stay on the major outlets, since my general principle is that I want to reach people.

But folks: remember those fashionable libertarians who tried to pretend that p.c. was no big deal, just a phony problem invented by the right wing?

Good thing you dont subscribe to their newsletter.

NYT Hires From Caligulas Basement LewRockwell

By now I suppose that everybody and his dog knows (well, actually, I havent asked my dog) that the New York Times has hired, and defended, one Sarah Jeong, an avowedly racist, sexist, mouthy, and apparently kinky twitess as tech writer. Kinky is the polite term for people who enjoy cruelty. Which, she says, she does. Anyhow, among her eructations:

Dumbass f****** white people marking up the internet like dogs pissing on fire hydrants.

And:

Oh man its kind of sick how much joy I get out of being cruel to old white men.

Wow! What are her rates, I wonder? Does guttersnipe language cost more? She is right, though, it is at least kind of sick. And astonishing that the Times would be so candid about its politics by hiring her. Even David Duke has never said that he wanted to hurt blacks. Sez me, the foul-mouthed little monster doesnt need a job. She needs a psychiatrist or an internship with Gina Haspel. Or a spanking.

Ever genteel, Sarah also opined, White men are bullshit. The latter is boilerplate Left, the normal yowling of the sexually disturbed and racially hostile. Sarah is not exactly an argument for diversity and makes white nationalism look reasonable.

If in my newspapering days I had written, Gook women are bullshitunlikely since, when I lived in various Asian countries, I really liked the women, as white men usually doI would have been fired.  The Times is perfectly happy with her though. Different rules for different people.

But suppose that she had said, black men are bullshit, or that she enjoyed hurting old Jewish men (presumably not a career-enhancing move at a Jewish paper). She would have been hove out the door on her delicate round sit-down, thump, the door perhaps not having been opened beforehand  Which would make sense. When you live in a country where everyone hates everybody else like poison, arguably a newspaper should not publish name-calling likely to inflame the hatreds for no reason. Or, worse, take sides with some groups against others. Which the Times did: Enjoying the suffering of whites is fine.

So why did the Times, the national school marm, bloated with goodness, give her a pass? Me, I figure its because  she is a protected twofer, a feminist, and of color. (Every time I see that phrase, I want to load my Strunk and White with hollow point and let fly, but never mind.) I guess that if she were found to be grinding white orphans into dog food, the Times would say something about her legacy of colonialism and how getting a job at the Times showed discrimination against women and that she was oppressed and making a political statement and anyway it was only a few orphans. Well, unless they were orphans of color. That would be genocide.

I believe I might say to her as follows regarding old white  men:, which I happen to be one of:

Now see here, Sweet Potato. Iv...

Putin Appoints Steven Seagal LewRockwell

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday that Hollywood action star Steven Seagal would be the countrys new representative for Russian-US humanitarian ties, according to Reuters.

The role was designed to deepen cultural, art and youth ties between the two nuclear superpowers.

The Russian Foreign Ministry likened Seagals new role to that of a U.N. goodwill ambassador and said that the actor, who is known for his martial arts prowess, would receive no salary.

Its a case of peoples diplomacy intersecting with traditional diplomacy, the ministry said. Reuters

US-Russia relations have been under seige since Russian President Vladimir Putin made the executive decision to annex Crimea in 2014 stoking tensions with the West, which claims the Russian president acted above the law.

Out for justice, the US and others imposed harsh sanctions against Russia, while the Ukrainian army has found itself on deadly ground facing off with Russian forces throughout the disputed region.

Last year, Seagal was banned from entering Ukraine for five years, after the Ukrainian security service (BSU) deemed him a security threat and placed him on a blacklist. No word if he was marked for death by an attack force, or if they just dont like a guy who was born to raise hell. Were sure he would have received the maximum conviction had he set foot in the country, but for now he remains out of reach and hard to kill.

Apart from a black belt, I have a black list now, -Steven Seagal

In 2016, Putin presented Seagal with a Russian passport while apparently finding something humorous during the ceremony, an exchange which was clearly a big moment for Seagal.

More Lies About the White Helmets LewRockwell

When is a terrorist group not a terrorist group? Apparently the answer is that it ceases to be terrorist when it terrorizes someone who is an enemy of the United States. The most prominent recent example is the Mujaheddin e Khalq (MEK), a murderous Iranian Marxist cult which assassinated five Americans in the 1970s as part of its campaign against the Shahs government. It was removed from the State Department terrorist list in 2012 by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton after it had promised not to kill any more Americans but really because it had bought the support of prominent politicians to include Elaine Chao, Rudy Giuliani, Newt Gingrich, and John Bolton. It also had the behind the scenes endorsement of both the Israeli Mossad and CIA, both of whom have been using it in their operations to kill Iranians and damage the countrys infrastructure. Someone high up in the federal government, perhaps Hillary or even President Obama himself, must have decided that terrorists who kill only Iranians deserve a get out of jail free card from the State Department.

There are other examples of cynical doublespeak from the Syrian conflict, including labeling rebels against the Damascus government freedom fighters when in reality they were as often as not allied with the al-Qaeda affiliated group Al-Nusra or even with ISIS. Frequently they received training and weapons from Washington only to turn around and either join Al-Nusra and ISIS as volunteers or surrender their weapons to them.

But perhaps there is no bigger fraud making the rounds than the so-called White Helmets. The recent media coverage derives from the documentary The White Helmets, which was produced by the group itself and tells a very convincing tale promoted as the story of real-life heroes and impossible hope. It is a very impressive piece of propaganda, so much so that it has won numerous awards including the Oscar for Best Documentary Short last year and the White Helmets themselves were nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. More to the point, however, is the undeniable fact that the documentary has helped shape the public understanding of what is going on in Syria, describing the government in Damascus in purely negative terms.

The fawning Hollywood and Congressional depictions of the group go something like this: the White Helmets are an heroic impartial non-government humanitarian volunteer group that engages in first response emergency rescue and medical treatment for all those who have been impacted by the fighting in Syria. The Syrian government hates the group because it assists victims of the fighting who are either rebels or living in rebel held areas. Recently, with the Syrian Army closing in on...

Zero Transparency LewRockwell

Even though the internet is aflame with controversy over the coordinated purge of Alex Jones and InfoWars from Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, and  Apple, there is no real transparency over their decision and the process by which it was made.

Alex Jones and InfoWars have been top Twitter trends for hours, and even some left-wing journalists like Michael Tracey are decrying Silicon Valleys Masters of the Universe appointing themselves the arbiters of free speech on the web.

But Apple, Facebook, Spotify, and YouTube have offered, at most, only copy and paste explanations for why they banned InfoWars content from their platforms or why, after months of pressure from the Democrats and CNN, they all came to the same decision on the same day. Questions about transparency have a much broader scope that just the case of InfoWars and Alex Jones. Beyond the banning of other individuals such as Tommy Robinson, the same questions apply to a whole host of actions by the Masters of the Universe, including partnering with foreign governments to shut down accounts, shadowbanning users to limit the scope of their engagement, and mass user purges.

Breitbart News sent the following questions to Facebook, YouTube, Spotify, and Apple earlier today, and have yet to receive a real answer for most of them. Apple and YouTube chose to provide the same canned statement they provided to all other media outlets who contacted them, while Facebook and Spotify ignored our request entirely.

THE QUESTIONS SILICON VALLEY WONT ANSWER

1) What content specifically from InfoWars/Alex Jones was found to behate speech and otherwise rule breaking?

InfoWars editor-at-large Paul Joseph Watson confirmed to Breitbart News that none of the tech giants that targeted InfoWars and Alex Jones over the past 24 hours pointed to specific content that violated their terms of service.

2) When was the decision to ban them made? What changed over the course of a few days from when you defended not banning Infowars content?

Just a few weeks ago, Mark Zuckerberg defended InfoWars in an interview, saying: The approach that weve taken to false news is not to say, you cant say something wrong on the Internet Everyone gets things wrong, and if we were taking down peoples accounts when they got a few things wrong, then that would be a hard world f...

Game Changer of the Year LewRockwell

By Dr. Mercola

Each year during the anniversary week of Mercola.com, we recognize a Game Changer, someone whose work stands as a great service to humanity by making a significant contribution to improving peoples health.

Previous recipients include Dr. Fred A. Kummerow for his lifes work on trans fats, Thomas Seyfried, Ph.D., for his advancement of cancer as a metabolic disease, and Dr. Lee Cowden for his advancement of integrative medicine through the creation of the Academy of Comprehensive Integrative Medicine.

This year, we present the Game Changer Award to Carole Baggerly, director and founder of GrassrootsHealth, a nonprofit public health research organization dedicated to moving public health messages regarding vitamin D from research into practice.

Our tag line, Moving Research into Practice, [came about] because the more I got into it, the more I realized that the clinical research is there for many health conditions, yet the implementation process wasnt happening.

You cannot expect a new success story to be implemented for somewhere between 15 and 25 years. So, we work not only on the science but on the methodology. Thats really important, Baggerly says.

The biggest problem with the implementation of vitamin D right now is the methodology used to analyze the data. Almost every time you see a report that comes out that says there was no effect, they analyzed the data by dosage.

Analyzing by dosage is really targeted to give you no result. If you analyze it properly, by serum level, not by intake, you get interesting results. Our first paper, published in 2011, showed the dose response relationship. You can easily see that two people taking the same dose (e.g., 4,000 IU/day) could have very different results. Thats why testing and reporting by achieved level is so important.

Another Republican State Legislative Retirement Could Cause A Flip In Virginia DownWithTyranny!

I'm sure you remember all the excitement around the elections for the Virginia House of Delegates last year. The Republicans lost a whopping 15 seats and barely held onto the leadership-- and only because of a coin toss that went in their favor! The GOP entered those elections with 66 seats (out of 100) and had no idea what was headed their way. By the time the coin toss was over, they had 51 seats. Last month one of their delegates, Greg Habeeb-- from a red district in southwest Virginia (the 8th) that covers part of Roanoke, the City of Salem, Craig County and part of Montgomery County-- announced he's retiring at the end of this month.

Last year was the first time Habeeb had ever been challenged for reelection-- and he won handily, even in a very Democratic year. He beat Salem Democratic Party chairman Steve McBride 18,311 (64%) to 10,294 (36%). It would be nice to have a coin toss for that seat!

House Speaker Kirk Cox (R) took the advice of House Democratic Leader David Toscano and Democratic Caucus Chair Charniele Herring to set the special election to coincide with the Nov. 6 general election. Democrats thing that date would be the best if they're going to have any chance of winning a seat that's been in GOP hands since 1991. The two parties have to nominate their candidates by August 17.

The Roanoke Times reported that "the resignation and the date of the special election raise the possibility that House Republicans could be down one vote if they have to return to Richmond in the early fall for a potentially contentious redistricting process. Federal judges have given the House until Oct. 30 to correct racial gerrymandering the court found unconstitutional, a process expected...

JOHN SOLOMON BOMBSHELL: FBI Hid Bruce Ohr Back Channel to Steele and Clinton Camp to Defraud FISA Court (VIDEO) The Gateway Pundit

DOJ official Bruce Ohr, former British spy Christopher Steele

John Solomon strikes again!

New emails obtained by Congress show Christopher Steele funneled information to the FBI through top DOJ official Bruce Ohr after the FBI terminated Christopher Steele in November of 2016.

Chairman Meadows tweeted: Critical development: NEW emails obtained by Congress show Chris Steele was secretly funneling information to the FBI in 2017 through senior DOJ official, Bruce Ohr, even after the FBI claimed Steele was terminated for leaking to the media in November 2016

Investigative reporter John Solomon released a report detailing some of the text exchanges between Bruce Ohr and Christopher Steele.

Although memos show the FBI specifically instructed Steele he could no longer operate to obtain any intelligence whatsoever on behalf of the FBI, Bruce Ohr continued to be the FBIs back-channel to the former British spy.

Text messages also reveal Bruce Ohr, his wife Nellie Ohr and Christopher Steele met on July 30th, 2016just one day before the FBI opened Crossfire Hurricane.

John Solomon reports:

Yet, Steele asked Ohr in the Jan. 31 text exchange if he could continue to help feed information to the FBI: Just want to check you are OK, still in the situ and able to help locally as discussed, along with your Bureau colleagues.

Im still here and able to help as discussed, Ohr texted back. Ill let you know if that changes.

Steele replied, If you end up out though, I really need another (bureau?) contact point/number who is briefed. We cant allow our guy to be forced to go back home. It would be disastrous. Investigators are trying to determine who Steele was referring to.

Radical Far Left Pastors Arrested At Portland ICE Building The Gateway Pundit

The wackjobbery continues in Portland, as religious leaders invent a victim card and stage their own arrests while protesting at the I.C.E. building that had been in under siege for much of July. Stunts such as these are more theater than reality, as these pastors and rabbis attempt to gain public sympathy for their case while trying to make the I.C.E. officers look like big bullies. What these clergy members were actually doing was blocking cars from entering the parking lot of the federal building.

KGW Reports:

Federal officers arrested religious leaders on Tuesday morning during a protest at the U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement holding facility in Southwest Portland.

The leaders and other people of faith marched to the ICE facility to demand the release of more than 100 asylum seekers being held at a federal prison in Sheridan, Oregon.

Before the protest, the group said it planned to interrupt ICE operations if its demands werent met. At about 11 a.m., several members of the group started blocking the driveway to the ICE facility. About 30 minutes later, federal agents came out and put three religious leaders in handcuffs. ICE officials confirmed to KGW that the three individuals were arrested and charged with obstruction.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has announced on that he will not be joining the Orwellian mob that is deplatforming Infowars unless they actually violate the platforms rules.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey

Dorsey wrote that part of his decision was so that they would not add fuel to conspiracy theories.

We didnt suspend Alex Jones or Infowars yesterday. We know thats hard for many but the reason is simple: he hasnt violated our rules. Well enforce if he does. And well continue to promote a healthy conversational environment by ensuring tweets arent artificially amplified. Truth is weve been terrible at explaining our decisions in the past. Were fixing that. Were going to hold Jones to the same standard we hold to every account, not taking one-off actions to make us feel good in the short term, and adding fuel to new conspiracy theories, Dorsey wrote in a series of tweets.

EMILY's List didn't endorse Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez during her primary against corrupt Democratic hack and Queens machine boss Joe Crowley. Par for the course. EMILY's List rarely backs cutting edge women candidates. They still haven't endorsed Ocasio-Cortez for the general. Jess King is another progressive candidate-- who won her primary-- who EMILY's List won't endorse. Nor will they back Detroit's proven progressive champion Rashida Tlaib. Pro-choice women Democrats, so why the cold shoulder?

The ultimate identity politics group, backs progressive women where it makes them look good-- like Elizabeth Warren, Stacey Abrams, Tammy Baldwin or Marie Hirono but what they specialize in is right-of-center corporate Democrats like Blue Dog chief Kyrsten Sinema (AZ), Blue Dogs Cheri Bustos (IL), Gretchen Driskell (MI), Gwen Graham (FL), Kathy Manning (NC) and Stephanie Murphy (FL), as well as candidates like NRA poster child Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ), Mob-affiliated socialite Susie Lee (NV) and conservatives Like Dianne Feinstein (CA), Gina Raimondo (RI), Jacky Rosen (NV) and Claire McCaskill (MO).

Appeals Court: No Reason Why US Border Patrol Officer Should Have Shot And Killed Mexican Boy Shadowproof

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled a United States Border Patrol agent did not have qualified immunity and could be sued for violating the Fourth Amendment, when he shot across the border and killed a boy in Mexico.

The court made clear that the Constitution does not stop at the border, and that agents should not have constitutional immunity to fatally shoot Mexican teenagers on the other side of the border fence, declared Lee Gelernt, the deputy director of the American Civil Liberties Unions Immigrants Rights Project. The ruling could not have come at a more important time, when this administration is seeking to further militarize the border.

The ACLU was among attorneys that brought the suit on behalf of the family of Jose Antonio Elena Rodriguez. The 16-year-old boy was killed on October 10, 2012, in Nogales, Mexico, while walking on a street that runs parallel to the border.

According to the allegations against Border Patrol Officer Lonnie Swartz, Rodriguez fired at least 14 bullets across the border. The boy was hit by about 10 bullets.

Rodriguez was not committing a crime. He did not throw rocks or engage in any violence or threatening behavior against anyone or anything, and he did not otherwise pose a threat to Swartz or anyone else. He was just walking down a street in Mexico.

The boy was on Calle Internacional, which the decision [PDF] describes as a main thoroughfare lined with commercial and residential buildings.

The American side of the border is on high ground, atop a cliff or rock wall that rises from the level of Calle Internacional. The ground on the American side is around 25 feet higher than the road, and a border fence rises another 20 or 25 feet above that.

As the decision notes, Nogales, Mexico, and Nogales, Arizona, are in some respects one town divided by the border fence. Families live on both sides of the border, and people go from one side to the other to visit and shop.

The boys grandparents live in Arizona, and his grandmother would often stay with him when his mother was at work.

Based on the facts alleged in the complaint, Swartz violated the Fourth Amendment. It is inconceivable that any reasonable officer could have thought that he or she should kill [Rodriguez] for no reason, the appeals court states.

The appeals court maintains Swartz could not argue the Fourth Amendment did not apply because Rodriguez was a Mexican citizen on Mexican soil. [Swartz] acted on American soil subject to American law.

Applying the Constitution in this case would simply say that American officers must not shoot innocent non-threatening people for no reason,&#8221...

Manaforts Lawyers Skewer Rick Gates in Blistering Cross-Examination He Embezzled Millions to Fund Secret Life With Mistress The Gateway Pundit

Paul Manaforts legal team painted Rick Gates, a former business associate to Manafort as a liar who embezzled millions of dollars to fund his secret life with his mistress in a blistering cross-examination Tuesday.

Rick Gates fell apart during the cross-examination and perjured himself which is very damning for the prosecution.

Rick Gates previously pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with Mueller; he was even referred to as the Special Counsels star witness.

On Monday, Gates testified he committed crimes while working for Paul Manafortof course these alleged crimes date back several years ago before Manafort temporarily worked for the Trump campaign.

Gates also testified he helped Manafort file false tax returns and cheated Paul Manafort out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, reported CNN.

On Tuesday, Manaforts lawyers responded by painting Rick Gates as a liar and a thief.

Rick Gates is a 46-year-old married father of four children who admitted to having a mistress in London during his testimony Tuesday morning.

The Daily Mail reported:

Paul Manaforts former deputy Rick Gates admitted to using offshore bank accounts to pay for a secret extramarital affair, including providing a London apartment for his mistress and luxury trips through Europe, during Manaforts tax and bank fraud trial on Tuesday afternoon.

Manaforts defense attorneys accused Gates of embezzling money from the former Trump campaign chairman to fund his secret life and overseas mistress during an explosive exchange at the trial on Tuesday.

Gates also told the court he might have stolen money from the Trump inauguration committee while he was a staffer there after the election.

American Efficiency in the Soviet Union bensozia

Perhaps you have some time idly wondered how the Soviet Union was able to industrialize so successfully despite civil wars, communist ideology, and a central planning apparatus that failed spectacularly in so many other areas. Obviously this is a complex question with a complex answer, but part of the explanation was Lenin and Stalin's embrace of American manufacturing methods. The Soviets were much enamored of the "scientific management" of Frederick Taylor, who used stopwatches and other tools to refine manufacturing processes and make them more efficient:

In the Soviet Union, Taylorism was advocated by Aleksei Gastev and nauchnaia organizatsia truda (the movement for the scientific organisation of labor). It found support in both Vladimir Lenin and Leon Trotsky. Gastev continued to promote this system of labor management until his arrest and execution in 1939. In the 1920s and 1930s, the Soviet Union enthusiastically embraced Fordism and Taylorism, importing American experts in both fields as well as American engineering firms to build parts of its new industrial infrastructure. The concepts of the Five Year Plan and the centrally planned economy can be traced directly to the influence of Taylorism on Soviet thinking. As scientific management was believed to epitomize American efficiency, Joseph Stalin even claimed that "the combination of the Russian revolutionary sweep with American efficiency is the essence of Leninism."
To build their new factories the Soviets also turned to Americans, specifically Albert Kahn, who had already designed the enormous River Rouge Complex for Henry Ford:
On May 8, 1929, through an agreement signed with Kahn by President of Amtorg Saul G. Bron, the Soviet government contracted the Albert Kahn firm to design the Stalingrad Tractor Plant. On January 9, 1930, a second contract with Kahn was signed for his firm to become consulting architects for all industrial construction in the Soviet Union.

Under these contracts, during 19291932, Kahns firm operated from its headquarters in Detroit and the newly established design bureau in Moscow to train and supervise Soviet architects and engineers. The bureau Gosproektstroi was headed by Albert Kahns younger brother, Moritz Kahn, and 25 Kahn Associatese staff were involved in Moscow in this project. They trained more than 4,000 Soviet architects and engineers; and designed 521 plants and factories under the first five-year plan.
I suppose I must have known about this, since I once read a whole book on the first five-year plan, but I had forgotten and I was deeply impressed a few minutes ago reading about Kahn's work in Russia. It is one of those unexpected connections that undermines all simple narratives and dichotomies. It reminds us t...

Hypocritical Liberal Media and Activists Now Pressuring Periscope to Drop Infowars The Gateway Pundit

Soros-backed Media Matters for America, the far-left attack dog that gives marching orders for other Democrat media, is now digging up old tweets and videos to pressure Periscope into dropping Infowars.

The move comes just after Democrats insisted that this was an unethical tactic when used by the right to call out James Gunn for his pro-pedophilia jokes and New York Times writer Sarah Jeong for her extreme racism.

Trump Brings Civil Discord And Violence DownWithTyranny!

There' been a lot of news recently about some deranged guy, 63-year old Carlos Bayon, of Grand Island, NY was arrested for leaving menacing voicemails on the office phones of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) and House Republican Conference chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA). He used his home phone to make the threats so-- not all that hard for Capitol Hill police and FBI to trace him. One message to Scalise: "Hey listen, this message is for you and the people that sent you there. You are taking ours, we are taking yours. Anytime, anywhere. We know where they are. We are not going to feed them sandwiches, we are going to feed them lead. Make no mistake, you will pay."

Police found various kinds of ammunition and instructions on how to build bombs when they searched Bayon's home, although no guns-- just 150 rounds of 7.62-millimeter rifle ammunition, 50 rounds of shotgun ammunition, a 2004 receipt for an SKS assault rifle, and a 1987 receipt for a .38-caliber revolver.

This week, I spoke to the chief of staff of a prominent Democratic House member, who is frequently on television. and social media. He told me that the office gets barraged with calls from right-wing lunatics constantly, including very serious threats-- even threats to the congressman's young children and pictures of the schools they go to.

"Any time the Member is on television,"the chief told me, "the office receives calls from angry conspiracy theorists-- most from outside the congressional district. These callers harass the interns and junior staff who answer the phones. These days for the right its all about 'owning the libs'-- so they dont even feel the need to make sense, as long as they are annoying a Democrat they consider it a successful call."...

Cory Booker Claims He Didnt Know He Held a Pro-Palestine Sign. New Details Cast Doubt on His Denial The Intercept

At the Netroots Nation conference in New Orleans this past weekend, which brands itself as a political convention for American progressive political activists, the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights attended panels, handed out literature, and advocated for the end of the occupation of Palestine to secure a just future for both Israelis and Palestinians.

As part of that effort, members snapped a photo with Sen. Cory Booker D-N.J., during which he held a sign that clearly read, From Palestine to Mexico, All the Walls Have Got to Go.

The initial response from the left was hopeful, if skeptical. Booker, a presumed 2020 hopeful, has been making concessions to the left since 2016, including a pledge to reject corporate PAC donations, putting a pauseon fundraising from pharmaceutical companies, and embracing Sanders-style policies like a $15 minimum wage and Medicare for All.

Although he has a long history of strident pro-Israel advocacy, this year, Booker declined from speaking publicly at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, Americas prominent pro-Israeli government lobbying group although an AIPAC official told The Intercept that conference attendees met with him at his Capitol Hill offices following the event.

It seemed as though Bookers choice to enthusiastically pose with a pro-Pale...

Infowars is Not Just Being Censored, Basic Business Infrastructure Now Being Stripped as MailChimp Bans Their Email The Gateway Pundit

Infowars is not just being censored now, in the latest Totalitarian move against the outlet, Mail Chimp and LinkedIn have also banned them from using their services.

The leftist Big Tech mob isnt content with just censorship they are now targeting the outlets basic business infrastructure.

In a statement to the far-left activist website Media Matters for America, the email service made an exception to their rule about commenting on individual users or accounts.

MailChimp doesnt generally comment on individual users or accounts, but well make an exception today. MailChimp notified Infowars that their accounts have been terminated for violating our Terms of Service, which make it clear that we dont allow people to use our platform to disseminate hateful content, the statement began. We take our responsibility to our customers and employees seriously. The decision to terminate this account was thoughtfully considered and is in line with our companys values.

Infowars founder Alex Jones has compared the attacks to being sent to an electronic ghetto.

On Monday, Infowars was banned from Facebook, YouTube, and Pinterest as well as censored by Apple. The bans took place within hours of each other.

Judge Ellis Brings Muellers Prosecutor to Tears in Courtroom Showdown The Gateway Pundit

It looks like Muellers prosecutors cant take the heat.

Rick Gates, Paul Manaforts former business associate took the witness stand Monday afternoon in the bank fraud and tax evasion case against Manafort.

After jurors were dismissed, Judge T.S. Ellis scolded one of Muellers prosecutors and a 10-minute courtroom spat ensued.

FOX News reported, at one point Judge Ellis felt disrespected after one of Muellers prosecutors [Greg Andres] looked down instead of looking directly at him and screamed, Look at me!

You looked down as if to say thats B.S.! Ellis said. Im up here!

On Monday Judge Ellis argued with Greg Andres for moving slowly with Rick Gates and constantly linking him to Ukrainian oligarchs.

What matters are the allegations that he made money from them and didnt report it, Ellis said. You dont need to throw mud at these people.

Apparently the interruptions by Judge Ellis pushed Muellers prosecutor to the brink.

The court transcripts from Mondays showdown were just released and its pure comedy gold.

At one point, one of Muellers prosecutors, Greg Andres, was so frustrated he pushed to tears and Judge Ellis mocked him for his weakness.

An attorney who obtained the court transcripts posted to his Twitter account:

Did Judge Ellis make the Special Counsel lawyer cry???

Judge: Theres tears in your eyes right now.

Govt: There are not tears in my eyes, Judge.

Judge: Well, theyre watery.

Black Lives Matter Protesters Disrupt Sacramento Police Officers Wedding The Gateway Pundit

Black Lives Matter protesters crashed the wedding of a Sacramento police officer who was involved in a fatal officer shooting in March and posted a video of the incident.

The group of protesters tracked down the vineyard location of the wedding, which was about an hour outside Sacramento, by finding his wedding website and registry online. Hours before he was set to walk down the aisle, protesters stormed the room where he was getting ready and declared that he is a murderer.

Black Lives Matter Sacramento posted a video of the incident to their Facebook page, though we will not be linking to it as his identity is not meant to have been made public. The officer, who is black, was involved in the shooting of 22-year-old Stephon Clark who had been holding a cellphone that the officers mistook for a gun.

During the wedding protest, a white demonstrator screamed at the officer demanding to know how he sleeps at night.

I just wanted to know if you started planning your wedding before you killed Stephon Clark or after? a woman shouts. How you been sleeping since March 18? And I know this is supposed to be the happiest day of your life, he will not have that option.

The protesters were eventually removed by the officers wedding party.

I think they need to be approached in spaces where theyre a little more vulnerable, Tanya Faison, founder of Black Lives Matter Sacramento, told CBS. Were not violent, were not gonna give to them what they brought to our community, were not gonna hurt anyone but we are gonna make them uncomfortable, and they should because someone is dead.

Neither of the two officers involved in the shooting have been indicted.

The Sacramento Police Officers Association has defended the officer and spoke out about the protest.

The SPOA supports transparency within our Police Department. Transparency brings trust. Trust between our officers and the citizens they protect is an important aspect of a safe community. Insurgent Candidate Cori Bush Wants to End the Dynastic Rule of a Missouri Congressional District The Intercept

Cori Bush, a community activist who took to the streets after Michael Brown was killed by the police, is aiming to replicate an Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez-style upset over nine-term incumbent William Lacy Clay in the St. Louis-based district on Tuesday. Missouris 1st Congressional District has been represented by either Clay or his father for a half-century.

Now, Bush is offering an alternative to the dynastic politics that have carried on in the district and campaigning on a progressive platform, including a $15 minimum wage, free college tuition, and Medicare for All.

Bush, who is also an ordained pastor, single mom, and nurse, emerged as a community leader in the aftermath of the fatal police shooting of Brown, leading some of the protests. After the shooting, she ran unsuccessfully for Senate in 2016 but still managed to win more than 42,000 votes in the primary, despite spending little money. She points to her own experiences, including a period of homelessness during which she lived out of her car, as a reason she would be representative of the struggling district.

Clay is backed by the black Democratic establishment in the St. Louis area, and his political machine stretches back a generation, to when his father served the district. Bill Clay, who helped establish the Congressional Black Caucus during his tenure, served for 32 years before retiring. But Bush said that despite the incumbents influence, she has not received much pushback from the establishment. She has been asked on the campaign trail, though, why she was running against another black candidate. To me, it wasnt about a color, it had nothing to do with the color, it had everything to do with the issues, she said.

Bush would also send shudders through an already-spooked Democratic caucus if she is able to win or come close to Clay. Incumbents like New York Rep. Joe Crowley and Clay who are well-liked at home but maintain close ties to their citys elite, as well as major corporate interests have long thought their seats to be safe. Crowleys loss to Ocasio-Cortez opened a lot of eyes in Congress, eyes that turned back home to wonder if the same grassroots frustrations and aspirations could lead to their own demise as well. Many CBC members have served comfortably for decades, in districts where a culture of respect for seniority and its benefits has kept ambitious politicians from challenging aging representatives. Those advantages can be difficult to overcome. Rep. Danny Davis of Chicago recently beat his insurgent challenger by nearly 50 points.

Bush was the first 2018 candidate to be endorsed by Brand New Congress, the organization that first reached out and asked Ocasio-Cortez to run for office and works closely with Justice Democrats. The New York candidate traveled to St. Louis...

Emboldened by Their Successful Deplatforming of Infowars Democrats Start Push to Stamp Out FOX News The Gateway Pundit

On Monday Facebook caved to the leftist media mob demanding censorship of InfoWars and permanently banned their page.

Google-YouTube followed suit and also terminated the InfoWars Account.

The tech tyrants launched a coordinated attack on Alex Jones and Infowars.

But Democrats and their media already have their sights on a much bigger target.
FOX NEWS

Facebook scheduled a public event with reporters last month to promote the new Facebook Watch video feature.

The situation turned ugly when the invited news reporters screamed about Facebook allowing FOX News and Infowars on their platform.

Ricky Van Veen, Head of Global Creative Strategy and Fidji Simo, Director of Product at Facebook, had combative exchanges with reporters at an event to promote Facebook Watch in Beverly Hills on Wednesday. (Daily Mail)

The fact that far left reporters called on Facebook to ban FOX News from their platform was a new leap for the American left.

If Democrats and their mainstream media want FOX News eliminated from Facebook the largest and most successful news organization in America today then it is safe to say the American left wants ALL conservative publishers banned from the social media platform.

Democrat Senator Chris Murphy said as much yesterday.

And last weekend New York City communist Mayor Bill de Blasio discussed the role of FOX News on American culture and what a wonderful world it would be if there were no opposing voices to the Democrat Partys insanity.

PAUL RYAN IS NOT A VICTIM No More Mister Nice Blog

The problem with Mark Leibovich's New York Times Magazine feature on Paul Ryan is that it focuses almost exclusively on Ryan as a victim of a force beyond his control -- Donald Trump -- and downplays Ryan's own agency.

For instance, Leibovich writes:
Far from any unified governing philosophy, the animating objective for much of todays Republican Party has been reduced to whatever Trump does or wants. The main goal of many elected Republicans is to curry the approval of the president, avoid provoking him (or, worse, a tweet) and thus not inflame the base. Being deemed an infidel inside the Church of the Base can be lethal for even the most ensconced incumbent....

Ryan made a determination after Trumps election that to defy the president too forcefully would invite a counterreaction. He tends to speak of the commander in chief as if he were sharing a coping strategy on dealing with a Ritalin-deprived child. It boomerangs, Ryan says of being too critical of Trump. He goes in the other direction, so thats not effective. He added, The pissing match doesnt work.
And Ryan himself wants to blame our problems on the political climate, which is an easy way of blaming no one at all, while shifting blame away from himself:
I caught up again with Ryan on a soupy Thursday morning in the Capitol. Youre going to ask me about Donald Trump 16 times, right? he asked me as we buckled ourselves into the back of his armored Suburban. He has this practiced-exasperation shtick down pretty well at this point. He was headed to do an onstage interview with Jonah Goldberg on the subject of political leadership in an age of tribalism and identity politics, a topic that Ryan says he has given a great deal of thought to. To Ryans mind, tribalism and identity politics are twin scourges that contributed to the environment that exists today. Donald Trump didnt give us all this, Ryan told me. Donald Trump is showing us what it looks like.
In this profile, Ryan evades responsibility for his own actions, which don't seem to interest the author. I recommend that you skip the profile and read...

Michael Cohen Under Investigation For Tax Fraud, Making False Statements on Loan Applications The Gateway Pundit

Michael Cohen

President Trumps former attorney Michael Cohen is now under investigation for tax fraud from income he earned off of a taxi-cab business.

Federal prosecutors in New York are also looking into whether Michael Cohen obtained bank loans by making false statements on his loan applications or failing to provide adequate documentation.

Sound familiar? Paul Manafort was indicted on the same charges.

Further proof that anyone connected to President Trump will be hunted down and have their entire life picked apart by rabid, Trump-hating prosecutors.

The Wall Street Journal reported:

The legal pressures facing Michael Cohen are growing in a wide-ranging investigation of his personal business affairs and his work on behalf of his former client, President Trump.

In previously unreported developments, federal prosecutors in New York are examining whether Mr. Cohen committed tax fraud, people familiar with the investigation said.

Federal authorities are assessing whether Mr. Cohens income from his taxi-medallion business was underreported in federal tax returns, one of the people said. That income included hundreds of thousands of dollars received in cash and other payments over the last five years, the person said.

Prosecutors also are looking into whether any bank employees improperly allowed Mr. Cohen to obtain loans for which he didnt provide adequate documentation, people familiar with the matter said. In particular, federal investigators are looking closely at Mr. Cohens relationship with Sterling National Bankwhich provided financing for Mr. Cohens taxi-medallion businessincluding whether Mr. Cohen inflated the value of any of his assets as collateral for loans, according to people familiar with the matter.

Convictions for federal tax- and bank-fraud may carry potentially significant prison sentences, which could put additional pressure on Mr. Cohen to cooperate with prosecutors if he is charged with those crimes, according to former federal prosecutors.

As part of the inquiry into Mr. Cohens relationships with banks, federal authorities have been investigating whether Mr. Cohen made misrepresentations or false statements on loan applications, people familiar with the matter said.

What Voter Fraud? 670 Ballots Were Cast in Georgia Precinct with 270 Registered Voters The Gateway Pundit

The Georgia Secretary of States office found turnout in Mud Creek precinct was outstanding this year.

670 ballots were cast in the precinct that has 270 registered voters.

McClatchy reported:

Habersham Countys Mud Creek precinct in northeastern Georgia had 276 registered voters ahead of the states primary elections in May.

But 670 ballots were cast, according to the Georgia secretary of states office, indicating a 243 percent turnout.

The discrepancy, included in a number of sworn statements and exhibits filed as part of a federal lawsuit against the state by election security activists, comes amid swelling public concern for the security of Georgias voting systems. Georgia is one of four states that uses voting machines statewide that produce no paper record for voters to verify, making them difficult to audit, experts say.

Habersham County is located in northeast Georgia.

Trump Wants Kobach-- Establishment Republicans Want Cold Compresses DownWithTyranny!

I woke up yesterday and took a look at look at a funny little post in Axios by Jonathan Swan, "Behind the scenes: Trump's power politics," about Seor Trumpanzee big-footing all over the GOP midterms. He always has to make them all about him-- even when that is a detriment. The first segment was about screwed up the OH-12 race. "Trump," wrote Swan, "thinks it's fun to have a stake in these elections, according to sources familiar with his thinking. And he sometimes seems awe-struck by the way his endorsements can move a stunning percentage of Republican voters."

But the part that caught my attention was about how "senior Republican officials have told me they're holding their breath, hoping Trump won't endorse hardliner Kris Kobach in Tuesday's Kansas gubernatorial primary. Kobach is as far right as a Republican gets on immigration and voting rights, and Democrats view his potential victory as an opportunity to steal centrist voters. A source close to Trump told me they thought the president had been convinced to hold off on supporting Kobach. But he added he couldn't be confident, given that Trump is in Bedminster with a cell phone and plenty of Executive Time." It didn't take long either. Just a few hours later, Trump farted out one of his one-size-fits-all brainless tweets:

Last month Kobach and Colyer, the appointed incumbent governor, debated at Johnson County Community College. The atmosphere was pretty poisonous, which is pretty much what Trump has turned the GOP into. Needless to say, it was generally Kobach's fans who behaved like wild ani...

WALK OF FAME STARS ARE DEFENDED AS IF THEY'RE CONFEDERATE MONUMENTS No More Mister Nice Blog

Conuld Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame be permanently removed?

... Donald Trumps star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is facing a political assault.

West Hollywoods city council unanimously voted Monday to seek the removal of Donald Trump's Hollywood star, according to Mayor John Duran.
But it's highly unlikely that this will happen:
... the resolution is nothing more than a glorified request, as control of the stars rests with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which has never removed stars in the pastnot even the one belonging to Bill Cosby, whos been found guilty on three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault, or the musician Spade Cooley, who was convicted of murdering his wife in 1961....

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a registered historic landmark. Once a star has been added to the Walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Because of this, we have never removed a star from the Walk, said Leron Gubler, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president and CEO.
This is nonsense. If you can change a "registered historic landmark" by adding to it, why can't you change it by removing something from it, as long as the essential nature of the landmark is unchanged? The Walk of Fame is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Landmark, designated in 1978. So is Grauman's Chinese Theatre, designated in 1968. In 2013, Grauman's underwent a renovation that turned it into an IMAX theater. It's also changed its name (not for the first time since it achieved landmark status) -- it's now the TCL Chinese Theatre. It's still a landmark. (The famous facade remains.)

The Hollywood Reporter and IMDb have lists of controversial honorees on the Walk of Fame, among them Kevin Spacey and Bill Cosby. The Chamber of Commerce has specifically said it won't remove Cosby's star, which has been defaced by vandals.

EMILYs List Backs Letitia James, Andrew Cuomos Candidate for New York Attorney General The Intercept

EMILYs List announced on Tuesday its endorsement of Letitia James for New York attorney general, an unusual move for the womens group that tends to shy away from races with more than one viable woman in the primary.

James is facing a serious challenge from law professor and former gubernatorial candidate Zephyr Teachout. Leecia Eve, a telecom lobbyist, is also running. The endorsement from the group, which works to elect pro-choice women, came about without a competitive process or the typical trappings of interviews with candidates or even questionnaires, sources briefed on the matter told The Intercept.

Tish James is a fierce public advocate who has always had the back of every New Yorker, especially women. Shes ready to serve as the states top law enforcement officer and protect consumers, working families, and New Yorks most vulnerable, the group said in a statement. Its clear that with her proven ability to lead and determination to take on President Trumps disastrous agenda, Tish is the strongest candidate to defeat Republican Keith Wofford in November. EMILYs List is proud to endorse her.

The endorsement of James lines up with the preference of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who endorsed James under the condition she reject the support of the Working Families Party. The WFP has endorsed Cuomos own primary opponent, Cynthia Nixon.

James is the New York City public advocate and has long been popular with progressives in New York, but her embrace of Cuomo and rejection of the WFP has raised questions about whether shell have sufficient independence to root out the rampant corruption around Cuomo in Albany. Ive been independent all of my life, James said recently. The reality is that although the governor may have a strong personality, I think Ive got an even stronger personality, as someone from Brooklyn.

Following the Tuesday endorsement, James said in a statement, For years, EMILYs List has been the force that has empowered countless women to run for office and enact policies to move our country forward and I am truly honored to earn their endorsement for my campaign for Attorney General.

She added, With the stakes in our country greater than ever, it is imperative that New Yorks Attorney General have the experience and skills to take on Donald Trump and any force that would try to deny New Yorkers their most basic rights. I will be that fearless fighter and will never waver in my commitment to moving our state forward.

James is a former city counc...

Google and YouTube Have Long History of Working with Democrats Then Ban Alex Jones and Infowars The Gateway Pundit

Hillary Clinton and then CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt in 2016.

Google openly supported Barack Obama in 2012 and Hillary Clinton in the 2016 elections.

Google CEO Eric Schmidt and other Google top executives and engineers visited the Obama white house 430 times.

Researchers as SourceFed found that Google was actively altering search recommendations in favor of Hillary Clintons campaign.

Googles YouTube regularly paused the livestream at the Trump rallies.

On Monday Facebook, Apple, YouTube and Spotify banned Infowars and Alex Jones from their platforms in a coordinated attack.

Google and Facebook employees overwhelmingly support Democrats.
And now they are doing their dirty work.

The Culture Chronicles reported:

With the banning of Alex Jones as well as his content from YouTube being removed, it forces one to look back into the cozy relationship Google and their executives have had with both Obama, Clinton, the DNC, and possibly other deep state entities.

Back in 2012, then CEO of Google Eric Schmidt teamed up with Obama. He started several technology start-ups, all of them with the intention of assisting the Obama campaign with data mining and leveraging Googles expertise. One of those companies called The Groundwork would later become the main technology vendor to the Hillary Clinton campaign. The company used data mining and other Google technologies to target specific voters.

During that time, Eric Schmidt and other Google top executives and engineers visited the Obama white house...

Instagram Bans Tommy Robinson As Conservative Purge Continues The Gateway Pundit

Anti-Islam activist Tommy Robinson was imprisoned in May for filming outside of a Muslim grooming trial in Great Britain.

Tommy Robinson was freed on bail last week after appealing his imprisonment for contempt of court.

Tommy Robinson

A 13 month sentence was imposed on the same day as Robinsons arrest in May for filming outside a grooming gang trial in Leeds. On Wednesday it was struck down by Lord Chief Justice Burnett and two other judges.

But Tommy Robinsons troubles are not over.

Robinson was banned from Twitter for his outspoken defense of England and his harsh remarks on radical Islam.

The Metro reported:

And on Tuesday Tommy Robinson was banned from Facebooks Instagram.

Tommy Robinson has become the latest in a list of far-right activists who have had their social media accounts closed.

Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon, has now been banned from instagram.

He follows shock jock Alex Jones from Infowars and controversial Milo Yiannopoulos who have both been silenced.

Robinson, 35, was already banned from Twitter in March this year, supposedly for breaching its hateful conduct policy. However his Facebook and YouTube pages remain active.

Is the Next EU Crisis the Balkans, Again? The Gateway Pundit

Guest post by Ted Malloch
Author of The Plot To Destroy Trump

NATO announced yesterday that it plans to build its first air base in the Western Balkans, according to the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama.

Why?

The word Balkan comes from the Turkish balken or chain of woods, sometimes better translated simply as, swampy forest. Of course after the dissolution of Yugoslavia in June of 1991 the term Balkan gained a rather negative meaning, even in the casual usage as the verbto balkanize, and all that term has come to imply.

In part, as a result of the historical and political connotation of the term Balkans due to various military conflicts of the 1990s, the new term Southeastern Europe has been initiated. But it doesnt cover up the realities. It only papers them over.

The peninsula surrounded by the Adriatic Sea to the west, the Mediterranean Sea to the south, the Black Sea to the east, and the Danube River to the north, is a landmass roughly the size of Spain and has a population of over sixty million people and it has known chaos and discord for some time. Europes next crisis is again The Balkans.

Historically known as the cross roads of cultures, it has been a juncture between the Latin and Greek traditions of the Roman Empire; the destination of an influx of pagan Bulgars and Slavs; and an area where Orthodox and Catholic Christianity met, as well as a melding point of Christianity and Islam. That has made life difficult with so many crosscurrents, ethnicities and cultural affinities. It is the seam in the clash of civilizations.

Since the middle ages the Balkans have been the stage for a series of nearly endless wars between empires. Most of the Balkan states emerged, as we know them today in the 19th and early 20th centuries as they gained independence from the Ottoman and the Austro-Hungarian Empires. In 1912 already, the world witnessed the First Balkan War. The First World War was itself sparked in the Balkans in 1914. You all know the gory details and outcome of that incident.

With the start of the Second World War all the Balkan countries, with the exception of Greece, were allies of Nazi Germany. At the close of that devastating war in 1944, the Soviets entered Romania and Bulgaria, forcing the Germans out. What was left was largely an area of ruin and wartime exploitation.

The thrust of the long Cold War meant most of the Balkan countries were governed by communist governments and found them in the Soviet sphere of influence. Greece and Turkey, the exceptions, were, and still are of course part of NATO.
