Kiribatis Ambassador to the United States: Who Is Teburoro Tito? [News - AllGov]
Teburoro Tito, who previously won three terms as president of the Pacific island nation of Kiribati (population 118,000), presented his credentials to President Donald Trump as his countrys ambassador to the United States on January 24, 2018. Since September 2017, Tito has also been serving as Kiribatis representative to the United Nations.
Tito was born August 25 in 1952 or 1953 (sources differ) in Tanaeang Village on Tabiteuea North Island in what was then the Gilbert Islands. He attended St. Josephs College in Abaiang, Kiribati and earned a B.S. from the University of the South Pacific in 1977, along with a graduate certificate in education in 1979.
Tito was an educator before becoming a politician, and he was known as an organizer of soccer tournaments. He was chair of the Kiribati Football Association from 1980 to 1994. Starting as a scholarship officer, he served as senior education officer from 1983 to 1987. As the secretary of the Christian Democratic Party, he was elected to the Kiribati parliament in March 1987 and first ran for president two months later. He lost a spirited race 10,700 to 8,100 to the incumbent, Ieremia Tabai. He served as opposition leader until 1990 and deputy leader until 1994. Tito was finally elected president in September 1994. In Kiribati, three or four presidential nominees are chosen by the parliament and voted on by the public.
In 1995, Tito adjusted the International Date Line so that the entire nation would be on one side of it, and as a bonus, would make Kiribati the first country to be able to celebrate the new year in 2000. In 1995, Tito proposed a plan to sell Kiribati special non-citizen passports to foreigners for $15,000 each, upping the price to $20,000 the following year in exchange for the right to develop remote Kanton Island (population 100).
Tito was reelected twice, in 1998 and 2002, for the maximum three allowable terms. However, he lost a vote of confidence in the parliament three months after his 2002 election and was turned out of office. Two controversies contributed to the loss. The first was the existence of a Chinese tracking station in Kiribati. The Chinese said the tracking station was designed to monitor their satellites, but some believe it was used to track U.S. missiles at the nearby Kwajalein Missile Range in the Marshall Islands. The second controversy was the lease of an ATR-72 turboprop airliner that cost the government $8 million in six months.
Tito continued to serve in parliament until he was named ambassador. Recently, Tito has endorsed a plan whereby members of a Russian monarchist party would buy three Kiribati islands as a site to revive the Romanov empire. Tito said it would be good for tourism.
In 1997, Tito described the threat to small island nations caused by climate change-related rising ti...

President Trump made history on Tuesday. The US president somehow brought the tyrant of North Korea to the table to sign the most important nuclear agreement in the last 70 years for the Korean people.

And then McCabe destroyed the evidence.
Huge scoop. Like my other big stories (Susan Rice, security clearances, Conyers) will take media a long time to confirm.
You know how Peter Strzoks system didnt back up.
You know why?
McCabe altered his 302 of the Flynn interview, and deleted all history of revisions.
Mike Cernovich (@Cernovich) February 19, 2018
Now Senate investigators suspect McCabe altered his 302 notes on General Flynn and have referred the matter to Inspector General Horowitz.
Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley is the one who pressured the FBI and DOJ to turn over the 302 notes on General Flynns investigation.
In Friday May 11, 2018, Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein stating Comey testified the FBI didnt think General Flynn lied. Grassley also revealed Joe Pientka was the second FBI agent who joined Peter Strzok on January 24th, 2017 in an ambush style interview to take down General Flynn.
Rosenstein refused to give the Senate Judiciary Committee the requested documents. Instead, Rosenstein provided insufficient documents prompting Grassley to send a second scathing letter to the Deputy AG.
It appears Senate investigators have finally received the 302 notes or evidence confirming Cernovichs February scoop that the FBI summary on Flynns interview was altered by McCabe.
The IG knows McCabe changed Peter Strzok 302 / notes with General Flynn.
Yet issuing a report to this effect would call thousands of FBI investigations into question.
Its full on freak-out mode, as no one know how to spin this.

Barack Obama pursued deals with Cuba and Iran, but he never
gushed over the leadership of either country, even though the
right's caricature of him was that he was pro-terrorist and a big

G: You say his people love him. Just a few months ago you accused him of starving his people. And listen, heres the rub. Kim is a brutal dictator. He runs a police state, forced starvation, labor camps. Hes assassinated members of his own family. How do you trust a killer like that?
T: George, Im given what I'm given, okay? I mean, this is what we have, and this is where we are, and I can only tell you from my experience, and I met him, I've spoken with him, and Ive met him.... I think that he really wants to do a great job for North Korea. I think he wants to denuke, its very important. Without that, there's nothing to discuss. That was on the table at the beginning, and you see a total denuclearization of North Korea -- so important. And, he wants to do the right thing....

Why is it that the #NeverTrump crowd can never celebrate
President Trumps historic achievements?
Trump has had the most successful first 500 days in presidential history.
And on the world stage President Trump is putting American interests first something we have not seen in decades.
After President Trumps historic summit meeting wtih Kim Jong Un Ben Shapiro went on FOX and Friends and threw water on the fire.
Ben told the morning crew, The presidents praise for the dictator of North Korea was disquieting The paper that was signed yesterday was weak.
Ben, who is a favorite of the DC establishment, then went on slam the Trump administration for putting US flags next to the North Korean flags.
So what is the difference between Ben Shapiro and what you would hear on MSNBC or CNN this morning?
Via FOX and Friends:
Ben Shapiro also hit President Trump on Twitter.
Imagine the Nazi flag in place of the North Korean flag. Kim is the closest thing to Hitler on the planet today. We put our flag alongside his, and Trump praised him fulsomely. That better reap some dividends. (/2)

Last week, I wrote Paul Ryan Is Losing Control of His Caucus Over DACA about a revolt among House Republicans over DACA and the Dreamers. A discharge petition signed by two dozen Republican House members may compel votes on immigration bills that are supported by the Democrats. Watching that turmoil, Roll Call stresses that the divisions are really about what kind of legal immigration we want to have in our country.
At first glance, the Republican Partys latest bout of immigration infighting appears to orbit around one key disagreement: Should so-called Dreamers be given a path to citizenship?
Look a little closer, and its clear the rift goes far beyond Dreamers. What Republicans are struggling with is a fundamental dispute over the core values of the U.S. immigration system and who may benefit. And the same disagreements that have previously doomed the prospects of a deal threaten to do so again in this newest round of negotiations in the House.
The future of legal immigration is the sticking point, said Ali Noorani, executive director of the center-right National Immigration Forum. Theres a Republican in the White House who wants to end immigration to the United States as we know it. There is not a majority of Republicans in Congress who support that position.
Lately, Ive been appalled to see ordinary citizens expressing support on social media for a policy of separating asylum seekers from their children. In many cases, they simply dont know that its legal to show up at the border with your family and ask for asylum. But, when instructed about the law, a typical response is to side-step that and offer excuses.
Whats clear is that there is substantial support for ending immigration to the United States as we know it. If its legal to seek asylum at our southern border, then thats a problem that should be corrected. Until then, however, using the extreme deterrent of separating children from their parents is seen as a good way of dissuading people from seeking entry.
All efforts to appeal to decency fail. Ask them to imagine the emotions of a three year old who has lost his or her parents, and they just shrug. Whatever the president says it will take to keep those people out, thats what theyll get behind.
I dont know what the percentages are, but this sentiment is robust enough on the right that Im uncertain its true that there is not a majority of Republicans in Congress who support dramatically curtailing legal immigration. What they feel in their hear...
Because they recorded a lot of their conversations, historians and even ordinary citizens have an amazing amount of insight into what went on behind the scenes during the presidencies of Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon. When we add in the voluminous reports that Congress produced during investigations in the mid-to-late 1970s, and the massive amount of declassification that has occurred over time and as a direct result of the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992, we all have the great good fortune of knowing much more about the inner working of our government in the 1960s and 1970s than people did at the time.
This hasnt really helped the reputations of the presidents who served in that era, and recording certainly didnt work out well for Mr. Nixon. Presidents since that time have been more careful about what they preserve for prosecutors and posteritys review. But theyre still required to safeguard nearly everything they touch and to turn it over to the National Archives. This obligation is set down in a law called the Presidential Records Act that was passed in 1978 and went into force the day Ronald Reagan was inaugurated for the first time.
The digital era has ironically made the preservation of Executive Branch records more challenging. We saw this with Hillary Clintons emails from her time as Secretary of State and we saw it as well during the administration of George W. Bush. The mingling of personal and official business on government phones and email and chat systems creates a headache, and the mingling of official business and political business creates landmines for compliance with the Hatch Act.
The Bush administration ran afoul of the Presidential Records Act when they provided RNC email services to members of the administration and encouraged them to conduct all political business on those non-governmental accounts. Predictably, a lot of official business was conducted on RNC email (often by design to maintain secrecy) and about twenty-two million records were initially lost in the process and unavailable for congressional inquiries and oversight.
To comply with the law, presidents have small teams to preserve records and make sure they are...
Lets look at how the Russians went about recruiting Carter Page in 2013. We know about this for a couple of reasons. One is that the details were contained in an indictment that was filed in the Southern District of New York in 2015. Three Russians were charged with acting as unregistered agents of a foreign government, which is a nice way of saying that they were working for Russias Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) as spies. In the indictment, Carter Page is referred to as Male-1. The second reason we know about it is because the head of security for the Senate Intelligence Committee was leaking to the press, and he revealed details of the counterintelligence investigation into Page to his longtime girlfriend, reporter Ali Watkins, who was then working for BuzzFeed but is now working for the New York Times.
The following conversation is between two of the three indicted Russia spies. The recruitment of Page was handled by Victor Podobnyy. He approached Page at an energy symposium in New York City in January 2013. According to Page, Podobnyy gave him a business card and two email addresses, and then convinced Page to provide insights and unclassified documents related to the energy business, and also to meet with him in person on occasion.
One thing to note in this first piece is that it has been reported that Page does not speak Russian. Thats obviously not very accurate if he can write emails in Russian. This conversation, which was secretly recorded by the U.S. Government, is somewhat cryptic in places. When Podobnyy says I dont say anything for now, it appears to mean that he knows that Page is being strung along. Thats certainly how Igor Sporychev takes it, because he responds by saying that we (meaning Russians) will spend a couple of borrowed million, (meaning they will steal Pages investment money).
Following that, Podobnyy appears to confirm that he put Page up to pursuing the Gazprom deal by offering assistance and that Page seems to leap at every opportunity dangled before him (he takes on everything,...

Congressperson Joe Crowley, D-N.Y., now seeking his 10th term, has been in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1999. It has been 14 years since Crowley has faced a primary challenge, which means hes received the Democratic Party nomination automatically every two years since 2004.
During that time, Crowley has risen to the top ranks of the partys House leadership, becoming chair of the House Democratic Caucus, and has simultaneously consolidated his ironclad control over the Queens Democratic Party machine through increasing amounts of corporate donors, as well as his position as chair of the Queens Democratic Party.
This power has earned him the name king of Queens, and he has become the classic New York machine boss, having obtained both his 1990s seat on the New York City Council and his seat in Congress through a combination of dynastic politics and machine favors. But for the people of the 14th Congressional District that Crowley represents which covers parts of Queens and the Bronx and is 70 percent nonwhite it means they have had no Democratic Party alternative in this Democratic safe district for more than a decade.
All of that changed this year as a result of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, whose primary challenge against Crowley has sparked substantial excitement within her district and then media attention throughout the country. The 28-year-old educator, organizer for Bernie Sanders, and self-described democratic socialist of Puerto Rican heritage produced a video about her life and the reasons shes running that went massively viral.
Unseating an entrenched congressional incumbent is one of the hardest and rarest feats in U.S. politics especially an incumbent with the funding and stature of Crowley. But Ocasio-Cortezs blunt and defiant style see, for example, her reaction to last nights endorsement of Crowley by New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, as well as her stunningly unflinching denunciation of Israeli violence against unarmed Gazans last month combined with the obvious seriousness she brings to political organizing, has made many believe that she can pose a genuine threa...

Earlier this year, 17 Senate Democrats joined every Senate Republican in voting to weaken bank regulations put in place after the 2008 financial crisis.
The most strident opponent of these changes was Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren. A former bank bailout oversight chief and longtime expert on financial issues, Warren explicitly excoriated her Democratic colleagues for supporting the changes in a last-bid effort to stop them. It is rare for a member of Congress to openly castigate members of their party over a high-profile vote.
So on the bankers front, we have the Dodd-Frank law. Ten years on from the financial crash, parts of it are repealed in a vote in the Senate: Seventeen Democrats voted for that; 33 Democrats in the House voted to repeal parts of that legislation. Why? Hasan asked.
Warren responded by putting the blame on Republicans. She noted that community banks had asked for some changes in the Dodd-Frank financial law and that some Republican and Democrats were willing to make changes in that area. But, no, said the Republicans, and their big-bank donors. They said: The only way this bill goes forward is if there are giveaways for the giant financial institutions, she said, summarizing what happened next.
But you expect that from the Republicans. My question is: the Democrats who did that, was that a betrayal? Hasan asked.
Warren continued to rail against the substance of the changes, noting that some of the largest financial institutions in this country will be under less scrutiny.
Hasan continued to press Warren to offer some critical inspection of why the Democratic Party failed to unite to stop the changes. So tell me why 17 Democrats in the Senate and 33 Democrats in the House voted to repeal this. Was it money? Was it the influence of money?
Warren again deflected. They helped make this a riskier system, and I think that is a bad decision. All day long, they said they were there for the community banks, but using the community banks as human shields to be able to get giveaways for giant banks was wrong, she said o...

President Donald Trump and North Korea Chairman Kim Jong-un held a joint agreement signing ceremony at the conclusion of their five hour summit in Singapore. .
Guest post by Joe Hoft
President Trump today was enjoying one of the most significant and historical moments of his Presidency. He had somehow brought the leader of North Korea to the table to sign the most important agreement in the last 70 years for the Korean people. The President brought Kim Jong Un to Singapore to negotiate a deal between the US and North Korea. Only a year ago Korea was sending rockets over Japan and today their leader was signing an agreement with US President Trump.
Months of hard work and diplomacy reached a climax on Tuesday. The moment will go down in history. Then Fake News CNNs Jim Acosta, the darling of the disgusting left, blurted out loudly for all to hear:

Because they can vote for Tweedledum or Tweedledee, the red team or the blue team, or the welfare statist or the warfare statist, Americans think they live in a free society.
They sing that they are proud to be an American where at least I know Im free. They sing the national anthem and roar when it comes to the line about America being the land of the free.
Are they free? Is it free?
I recently saw that the first legal bare-knuckle boxing bout in the United States was held in over a hundred years.
A sellout crowd of 2,000 fans plus a pay-per-view audience around the world watched ten bare-knuckle matches, including four heavyweight bouts, on June 2 at the Cheyenne Ice and Events Center on the outskirts of Cheyenne, Wyoming. The fight card included mixed-martial arts fighters, boxers, and street fighters. One of the bouts was between two women. Two doctors were at ringside and two ambulances were parked outside.
The fight rules are similar to professional boxing. Only punching is allowed. There is a referee. There are five, two-minute rounds. There is a standard eight-count and a three-knockdown rule in effect.
Seven of the ten fights were decided by knockout. Only three bouts went past the third round.
The promoter, David Feldman, a former boxer who worked for seven years to legalize bare-knuckle fighting, said he was rejected by 28 states before Wyoming finally agreed to sanction it. The Wyoming State Board of Mixed Martial Arts, created in 2012, gave approval for the bare-knuckle fighting in March.
So, what does the reintroduction of bare-knuckle boxing have to do with America being or not being a free society?
No matter how poor, sick, or destitute a man is, if he owns anything, he owns his own body. The state doesnt own it. Society doesnt own it. The public doesnt own it. And neither does some government agency or bureaucrat. As the owner of his body, he should be free to do whatever he wants with it as long as his activities are peaceful, his interactions are consensual, his associations are voluntary, and his actions dont aggress against the person or property of anyone else.
He should be free to groom it, mutilate it, prostitute it, feed it, starve it, pierce it, strengthen it, cut it, disfigure it, tattoo it, deprive it, alter it, injure it, harm it, pamper it, neglect it, or otherwise use it as he sees fit. Again, as long as his activities are peaceful, his interactions are consensual, his associations are voluntary, and his actions dont aggress against the person or property of anyone else.
Not being able to publicly, freely, voluntarily, and consensually engage in bare-knuckle boxing with a like-minded individual is a fundamental violation of basic human right...
When President Reagan met with Mikhail Gorbachev in Reykjavik, Iceland, on October 11, 1987, it helped put into motion events that would dramatically change the global system. A line of communication was fully opened with an enemy of decades and substantive issues were on the table. Though the summit was initially reported as a failure, with the two sides unable to sign a final agreement, history now shows us that it was actually a great success that paved the way to the eventual end of the Cold War and a reduction in the threat of a nuclear war.
A year later Gorbachev and Reagan met in Washington to continue the dialogue that had been started and the rest is history. Success began as a failure.
We are now facing a similar situation with President Trumps historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore. As with the Reagan/Gorbachev meetings, detractors on all sides seem determined to undermine and belittle the opening of a door to diplomacy and peace.
The neocons demand that North Korea give up all its bargaining chips up front in return for vague promises of better relations with the US. Yet in the post-Libya era no serious person would jump at such an offer. Their biggest fear is that peace may break out and they are doing everything to prevent that from happening. Conflict is their livelihood.
I also find it disheartening that many Democrat opponents of President Trump who rightly cheered President Obamas efforts to reach a deal with Iran are now condemning Trump for opening the door to diplomacy with North Korea. Did they genuinely support President Obamas diplomatic efforts with Iran, or did they just prefer the person who happened to occupy the Oval Office at the time?
The issue is about policy versus politics and I am afraid too many Americans of all political stripes are confusing the two. Many Americans, it seems, would prefer that we continue down the path to a potentially nuclear conflict on the Korean peninsula because they do not like the current US president. Does that make any sense? Has politics come to over-rule our common sense to the point we would go against our own interests and even our own lives? Lets hope not!
The truth is, talking is always better than threatening. Just like trading is always better than sanctioning. Detractors on both sides miss the point while they desperately try to make political points. The current thaw with North Korea began with that countrys participat...
Over the weekend, Italy once again roiled Europe, only this time not with its plunging bonds but with its drastic shift in immigration politics, when the countrys new populist leader, Matteo Salvini, now operating as Minister of the Interior, made good on his warning last weekend that the good times for illegals are over, writing an urgent letter ordering Malta to accept a ship carrying 629 shipwrecked North African migrants currently sitting off the Italian coast calling Malta the safest port for the passengers, and advising that Rome will no longer offer refuge.
The Italian message to Europe was simple: having been the port of landing for tens of thousands of migrants in the past two years, Rome would no longer accept boat after boat of North African (or middle eastern) refugees.
Italys vocal resistance to accepting further migrants even prompted prominent globalist George Soros, the person many have accused of being behind Europes forced migration patterns, to urge the EU to compensate Italy for the 100,000+ migrants landing there, noting that the strong showing of far-right parties partly is due to Europes flawed migration policies.
As for Italys suggestion that the Mediterranean island of Malta accept the migrants, not surprisingly it fell on deaf ears.
But if Italy (and Malta) would no longer accept migrants, and with Merkels open door policies in Germany now a taboo, the question remained: who would accept the countless boats of migrants still headed for Europe?
Moments ago we got the answer when that other PIIG, Spain, offered on Monday to take in the rescue ship MV Aquarius, that has been drifting in the Mediterranean sea with 629 migrants stranded on board after Italy and Malta refused to let it dock.
Spains Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who took office just over a week ago, has given instructions for the boat to be admitted to the eastern port of Valencia, his office said in a statement.
The now famous Area 51 is no longer a conspiracy., in fact it left that realm years ago when the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officially declassified its existence, as a place where the military was testing advanced ariel technology. But, if you really want to know the truth about hidden military bases, weve already covered that, and you can find links to those articles below. There is more than just one Area 51, thats important to keep in mind, especially if this classified world is being funded with our tax dollars. You can read more about that below and see a few examples for yourself.
Bob Lazar is one of the people who initially blew the lid off the secrecy of places like Area 51. He is a man who is admired by many in the field, simply because his story has always remained consistent. He knew the location and description of this base, decades before it was recently made public a few years ago.
His story also corroborates with many whistle-blowers who actually have verified backgrounds from within various sects of the military, government, and entire military industrial complex, which is also a phenomenon that exploded long after Lazar started speaking. There are many examples to choose from, like Steve Justice, the recently retired Director of Advanced Systems at Lockheed Skunkworks, or former director, Ben Rich, who has made multiple comments on UFO technology. There are literally hundreds of these types of people from within who are now speaking out.
Furthermore, at the end of 2017 the UFO topic took a turn, the US government released official video footage, radar tracking (electroptical) data, and pilot testimony, as well as admitting to recovering materials from these crafts.
I go into more detail about that in the linked article below I recently published.
Many are skeptical, as they should be with anything that comes from our governments. The people have lost much trust in them, and were starting to realize that we cannot continue relying on this system.
Lazar hit the mainstream and became quite popular after claiming to have worked on reverse engineering extraterrestrial technology at a site called S-4, near the Area 51 facility. Hes also mentioned information about extraterrestrials and the fact that there are multiple groups, some of which have been in contact with several global governments.
Everything is in a process of investigation both in the United States and in Spain, as well as the rest of the world. The nations of the wo...
Online firearms retailer Brownells over the weekend had their popular YouTube channel terminated by the video hosting service owned by Google.
The channel, started 11 years ago by the iconic gun parts warehouse, had amassed over 67,000 subscribers in the past decade but according to the Iowa-based company, it was terminated by YouTube on Saturday without notice or explanation. Brownells fired back on social media, urging their fans and followers to contact the video platform and parent Google, If youre opposed to the continued attack on our communitys First and Second Amendment rights, supplying various links to do so.
YouTube was then vilified across Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites for the move throughout the weekend by Brownells supporters who took the video service to task. This amplified after news aggregator The Drudge Report focused on the story.

By late Sunday afternoon, the channel had been restored. While Brownells thanked their supporters for their help they said there had been no explanation for the channels abrupt cancellation.
Why not war with Canada? That pissant nation is cluttering up the northern half of OUR Continent, which we struggled mightily to free from wicked Old Europe. What doesnt Justin Trudeau get about that? And when were done with him, how about a few rounds with Frau Merkel and the wee frog, Monsieur Macron? Id like to see the Golden Golem of Greatness in a leotard and one of those Mexican wrestling masks, tossing these peevish international dwarves out of the ring like so many sacks of potting soil.
And now its off to Singapore for a championship bout with the opponent known as Little Rocket Man. Theres an odd expectation that these two avatars of unreality will settle the hash that has been simmering for sixty years between the divided Korea and the USA. Mr. Trump will make a deal to turn North Korea into a golfers paradise and Mr. Kim will promise to beat his nuclear arsenal into nine irons and putters. And then theyll celebrate on Air Force One with bags of Big Macs and Buckets oChicken. (Let the aides and advisors fight over the Singapore Noodles and squid beaks in garlic sauce.)
The New York Times lost its shit Monday morning with a lead editorial that hauled onstage the stock villain from The Times repertory of international bogeymen: Russia.
If a president of the United States were to sketch out a secret, detailed plan to break up the Atlantic alliance, that plan would bear a striking resemblance to Trumps behavior. It would involve outward hostility to the leaders of Canada, Britain, France, Germany and Japan. Specifically, it would involve picking fights over artificial issues not to win big concessions for the United States, but to create conflict for the sake of it. A secret plan to break up the West would also have the United States looking for new allies to replace the discarded ones. The most obvious would be Russia, the biggest rival within Europe to Germany, France and Britain. And just as Russia does, a United States intent on wrecking the Atlantic alliance would meddle in the domestic politics of other countries to install new governments that also rejected the old alliance.
Ah, so. To The Times, Canada, Britain, France, Germany and Japan are little more than a pain-in-the-ass-ex-wives-club, and North Korea is the irresistible porn star with a huge rack, proffered by that evil old pimp, Russia, in the never-ending game of Rope-a-Dope theyve been running on Mr. Trump since even before he glided down that fateful escalator in his gilded Fifth Avenue tower. Surely, the wicked Putin has rigged up the Singapore hotel with the latest spy-ware and loaded the presidents closets with whores and real estate developers to tempt Mr. Trump into every sort of unnatural act dreamed up in the Kompromat labs of Yasenevo.

The war on fake news is about to go to an entirely new level. According to media reports, Facebook has been seeking to hire news credibility specialists that will be tasked with evaluating which news publishers are credible and which are not. If the goal was just to simply filter out the handful of websites that purposely publish fake news stories, that would be fine. But as we have seen so many times in recent years, these types of programs inevitably discriminate against conservative viewpoints. Facebook is highly liberal, and they will be hiring from a California talent pool that is also highly liberal. And liberals invariably consider liberal viewpoints to be more credible than conservative viewpoints. Facebook built an empire by giving everyone a voice, and it is simply not fair for them to try to exclude conservative viewpoints now just because they do not like them.
Hopefully we can get some answers from Facebook about this. On their official job site, the advertisement for these positions indicated that these news credibility specialists would be involved in the creation of a list of credible news organizations
Per a report in Business Insider, as of Thursday, Facebook had two contract positions for news credibility specialists open on its job site. The jobs are based out of Menlo Park, California, where the site is headquartered, and one of them lists fluent Spanish as a requirement:
Were seeking individuals with a passion for journalism, who believe in Facebooks mission of making the world more connected, one of the two listings reads. It continues: As a member of the team, youll be tasked with developing a deep expertise in Facebooks News Credibility Program. Youll be conducting investigations against predefined policies.
Facebook would ask the specialists to help create a list of credible news organizations. That list could be used for various features on the site, from the newsfeed to its advertising system.
So what criteria will be used to determine which news organizations are credible and which are not?
In the end, it seems almost inevitable that liberal news organizations will receive more favorable treatment.
The job announcement on Facebooks official job site is now down, but similar job postings also showed up on LinkedIn
Although Ive soured on him in recent years, for the first decade and more of Paul Krugmans tenure at the New York Times I regarded him as about the only national columnist worth reading. Certainly many others felt the same way, and Krugman regularly ranked among the most influential liberal voices in the country, gaining that position by his uniquely strong stance against the Iraq War plans of President George W. Bush, while his prestige was capped by winning 2007 Nobel Prize in Economics.
But few probably remember that just a couple of years into his column there was a concerted effort to pressure the Times into firing him, a campaign spearheaded by blogger Andrew Sullivan, then an ardent Bush supporter. Given the steady drum-beat of harsh accusations and the climate of that period, I had feared that it would succeed. Now suppose that he had been purged from all media access in 2002, and also that Bushs Iraq adventure had turned out to be a considerable success, rather than the utter disaster it actually became. A couple of decades hence, would anyone remember Krugman, except in some minor historical footnote recounting the misguided naysayers whom our heroic President W had fortunately overcome?
Perhaps by 2040 any mention of Krugmans name would either draw a blank stare or evoke a vague sense that he had been some sort of disreputable radical activist, perhaps with pro-Islamicist leanings and even suspected by some of having had a hand in the 9/11 attacks. History has traditionally been written by the political winners, and this was especially true in the days before the growth of the Internet weakened the total monopoly of our establishment media.
These were some of the thoughts that gradually crossed my mind during the middle part of the 2000s as I discovered some remarkable anomalies while creating my content-archiving website, a system intended to provide convenient access to millions of articles from Americas most influential publications of the last 150 years. Since I had never really studied American history, my views were generally quite conventional ones, formed from a mixture of the History 101 classes I had taken and what I had casually absorbed over the years from all the newspapers and magazines that I read.
Many of the most frequent names I encountered in Americas prestigious and respectable periodicals of the past were reasonably well known to me, but others were not. It was a strange feeling to see the overwhelming presence of writers who were either completely obscure or else whom I had always regarded as denizens of the disreputable radical fringe, distributing their angry mimeogra...
The French government of Emmanuel Macron has introduced a new law to protect the French from fake news during election periods. This vaguely drafted amendment to existing press law seems to have been inspired by Macrons resentment at rumors circulated against him during last years presidential election which didnt prevent him from winning. Widely opposed by opposition parties from left to right, and by most journalists, this amendment fits in all too well with the growing establishment campaign to censor dissident opinion by one means or another. The main pretext is the copycat Clintonite accusation of Russian interference in Western elections.
Applying initially only to election periods, to protect our democracy, this attempt to legislate the difference between true and false is a dangerous step in the door toward official censorship. Similar plans to ban fake news are brewing on the European level.
The law is superfluous to start with, since the existing 1881 French press law already sanctions insults, defamation and the artificial creation of panic, such as shouting fire in a crowded theater. But Macrons government wants to go much farther, outlawing the spread of false information, obscurely defined as alleging or lending credibility to a fact lacking verifiable elements of a nature to make it believable. (une allgation ou imputation dun fait dpourvue dlments vrifiables de nature la rendre vraisemblable.)
This definition is both unclear and potentially far-reaching.
To start with, a skeptic could ask what are the verifiable elements proving the existence of God, of life after death or of the effectiveness of prayer. There goes religion. How about the verifiable elements proving the effectiveness of astrology? There go some popular daily newspaper features. Numerous scientists have raised questions as to the verifiable elements justifying psychoanalysis without receiving satisfactory answers. Should psychobabble be banned in the name of combatting fake news?
And what should be done with post-modern French philosophy, whose most famous names take psychoanalysis very seriously and pride themselves on leaping to subjective conclusions? No one proliferates more fact-free assertions than Bernard-Henri Lvy, which so far has not interfered with his position on the board of major media from Le Monde to the cultural channel Arte.
When people think of crazy preppers, they often think of underground bunkers, full to the brim with supplies, locked up beneath a Fallout-style hatch. But few of us have, or want bunkers. Why? Its not exactly something you can build for cheap.
If you can afford to pay professionals to build one for you, sure, I suppose it could come in handy. These can run from $40,000 to over a million dollars though. To cut costs, some people try to do it themselves, but that is a really, really bad idea.
Without expertise, your bunker will just be a death trap. Were about to point out all of the reasons why. The next time someone hears youre a prepper and wants to talk to you about their make-shift bunker, you can send them this article.
1. Collecting Gas
Many harmful gases are heavier than air, and will collect in your bunker unless you take precautions.
Even if the gas itself cant kill you, it will push out oxygen until you have nothing left to breathe, and that will kill you. Scenarios that people commonly prep for can involve gas release, like domestic unrest, war, and more.
Imagine pulling tear gas into your bunker. Then you should consider pandemic prep, if you want to use outside air you need a filter system. Or, you could consider gas leaks that wouldnt normally merit a SHTF situation. A simple nearby propane leak, off-gassing from nearby septic tanks, or off-gassing from the soil itself, could all kill you.
2. Collecting Water
Its not just about keeping rain water out of the bunker. Its that you want to bury the bunker nice and deep to protect it from surface impact. But, youre limited by the depth of your water table.
If its at all below the level of the water table, it will flood, concrete, steel, or other materials be damned. Sure, there is some top-notch engineering you can do to keep the water out, but its expensive. One solution is to put the bunker at ground level and then pile dirt on top of it, but you need very large amount of dirt to protect it from impact.
Speaking of sustaining impact, a bunker wont survive the big one. Large earthquakes will certainly unseat it. Perhaps thats not what youre prepping for, but if you live in an Earthquake zone thats something to think about.
If you have a bunker in the blast radius of a nuclear bomb, (the usual rationale for a bunker), it wont survive....
Billed as a means to build peace on the Korean Peninsula, the meeting of US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has taken on a bizarre sideshow involving lookalikes, a secret toilet and lavish spending.
While millions of people are gearing up to enjoy the World Cup in Russia a separate spectacle on an island resort in Singapore is the event that has commentators and politics buffs salivating.
On Tuesday two of the most inflammatory world leaders on the political circuit will sit down in the luxurious Capella Hotel on Sentosa island.
If the media coverage leading up to the main event feels laden with the kind of hype usually reserved for slugger boxers, well thats because the political heavyweights have already traded vicious verbal blows on the international stage. Trump has labelled his counterpart Rocket Man while Kim Jong-Un has threatened to attack the US territory of Guam.
But aside from what is expected to be an enthralling meeting, most probably focused on nuclear disarmament, the peace summit has also become a monster event complete with a bizarre sideshow. Here are the eye-catching and jaw-dropping stories coming out ahead of the meeting:
The secret loo of Kim Jong-Un
It seems that extreme measures have been taken to keep knowledge of Kim Jong-Uns bowel movements out of enemy hands. North Koreas supreme leader has reportedly travelled to Singapore with a portable toilet, according to Chosun, a South Korean newspaper.
While an exact description of the private privy hasnt been revealed, the purpose of the top secret loo is to deny determined sewer-divers insights into the supreme leaders stools, the news outlet said.

Singapore footing the $20m bill?
The meeting wont be cheap. Kim Jong-Un will stay at the St Regis Hotel, which costs around $9,000 per night. Meanwhile, the US President is being put up 850 meters away in the swanky Shangri La hotel. The bill will, almost certainly, pass both leaders by, however, as the Singapore government has promised to pick up the expected $20 million tab.
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the cost of the summit, including the considerable price of beefi...
Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in your body, and is the reason why vegetables are green. But few people fully appreciate the importance of this miraculous mineral.
The human genome project reveals that 3,751 human proteins have binding sites for magnesium.[i] And so far we know this one essential mineral activates over 350 biochemical processes in the body to keep things flowing.
Plants are green because they contain the light-harvesting molecule chlorophyll which bears a striking resemblance to human hemoglobin (with the difference that the latter contains an oxygen-binding iron atom and not magnesium).
Magnesium deficiency is often misdiagnosed because it does not show up in blood tests only 1% of the bodys magnesium is stored in the blood. It has been estimated that about 80% of the population is deficient in this vitally important mineral.
Here are just seven good reasons to get more magnesium-rich foods in your diet today.
1. Prevent Migraines.
According to University of Vermont Professor of Neurology and migraine expert Robert Shapiro, M.D., Ph.D., every year nearly one in five Americans experience some form of migraine attack. One in 25 will have headaches lasting at least 15 days per month. These disabling attacks include severe one-sided, throbbing headaches, and sensitivity to light and sound. They may also involve nasal congestion, cloudy thinking, and nausea.
In one study of 133 migraine patients, supplementing with 500 mg of magnesium oxide for just 12 weeks significantly improved the frequency and severity of migraines.[ii]
And a double blind, placebo controlled study from Kaiser Permanente showed that supplementing with magnesium significantly cut the number of days children suffered with a migraine.[iii]
2. Lower Heart Disease Mortality.
A study in the journal Atherosclerosis found that people with low magnesium levels were more than twice as likely to die of heart disease. They were also more than seven times as likely to die from all causes.[iv]...

As President Donald Trump and North Koreas communist dictator Kim Jong Un, meet in Singapore Tuesday morning, June 12 (local time), it should be remembered how the New York Times nearly wrecked negotiations on the summit by deliberately lying that a senior White House official said it would be impossible to keep the June 12 summit in Singapore after Trump called it off in a bid to get Kim to recognize the seriousness of the moment. The two nations were in the midst of talks to keep the summit on schedule when the Times made their report, casting doubt on the sincerity of the U.S. and prompting Trump to call out the Times on Twitter.

As with so many issues involving this president, the views of his aides often have little effect on what he actually says. On Thursday, for example, a senior White House official told reporters that even if the meeting were reinstated, holding it on June 12 would be impossible, given the lack of time and the amount of planning needed.
On Friday, Mr. Trump said, It could even be the 12th.
Later on Friday, the president reinforced that possibility, saying on Twitter that if the meeting were rescheduled, it would likely remain on that day, and, if necessary, will be extended beyond that date.
We are having very productive talks with North Korea, he said.

F-ck Trump? Back atcha Robert De Niro. Robert De Niro is business partners with the same guys (Emin and Aras Agalarov) who brought Trumps Miss Universe pageant to Moscow. Trump attended a business meeting at their Moscow restaurant. The Agalarovs are at the center of the Trump Tower meeting to get alleged dirt on Hillary Clinton. Contact continued after the election. On Emins official web site you can watch both Trump and De Niro wish Emin Happy 35th birthday, in 2014. Mueller breathing down De Niros neck?
In the best of all worlds, De Niro would have been using his Nabu Moscow restaurant to spy on Trump and the Russians for the FBI. But, its not the best of all worlds.
And, De Niro is actively undermining the potential for Democrats to win one of the two US Senate seats up for grabs in Mississippi, by fund-raising for a loser candidate in the primary. Perhaps because Muellers breathing down De Niros neck? Or, is he just stupid?
De Niro held a fundraiser for California Republican Howard Sherman who ran against a good local Democrat (David Baria) in the Mississippi primary, and is running against him in the Mississippi primary runoff. Baria has managed to become State Representative in a Republican district, and has the ability to get some Republicans to cross-over, by patiently explaining how Trump is lying to them. De Niros wife was born in Mississippi, as was Shermans wife. However, if they cared about the state or country, one iota, they would have supported one of the good local candidates. They cant even spell Mississippi! Its spelled wrong in their fundraising ad! http://yallpolitics.com/2018/05/08/robert-de-niro-and-alec-baldwin-host-manhattan-fundraiser-for-howard-sherman-mssen
So, with several Mississippi Democrats running in the Mississippi primary, De Niro backed a California Republican in the race! That only makes sense if De Niro is trying to protect Trump by keeping Congress Republican. Whether through tampering by the Republican State government or due to De Niros fundraiser, Sherman actually won the primary. However, because of rules, he is now in a run-off with Baria for the 26th of June.
Mississippi and yes, Americas chance to have a real Democratic Senator, who is pro-solar, anti-smoking, and endorsed by the Sierra Club, is being scuttled by Robert De Niro. How fishy is that? Very fishy! De Niro appears to be backing Howard Sherman, in true Roger Stone style, because it is clear that he is a losing candidate. Baria, on the other hand, could be a winning candidate.
The Guardian calls it a franchise, but the Crocus Group web site says they are business partners with De Niro. ...
North Korean television star newsreader Ri Chun Hee, 75, revealed the Kim Jong-uns travel to the tiny Asian city-state of Singapore, 3,000 miles south of Pyongyang in a 7 minute message on Tuesday morning.
Miss Hee has been working on television since 1971 when she became chief news presenter of KCTV.
She has been reporting news in North Korea for over 45 years.
This morning was the first time North Koreans learned of the Trump-Kim summit.
North Koreans were offered a rare glimpse into their reclusive leaders schedule on Monday after the tightly controlled state media issued surprisingly detailed reports of his trip to Singapore.
In a seven-minute morning bulletin, star newsreader Ri Chun Hee, 75, revealed the news of Kim Jong-uns arrival in the tiny Asian city-state 3,000 miles south of Pyongyang in her typically melodramatic style, clad, as always for major announcements, in a traditional Korean pink and black dress.
For decades, Ms Ri has been entrusted with announcing great moments in North Korean history. Against the backdrop of Mount Paektu, a dormant volcano symbolising Korean nationhood,...
Muellers illegal Trump-Russia investigation continues to take corrupt and unconstitutional actions while criminal activities in Obamas FBI, DOJ and State Department are ignored. If there is justice, America will soon have a real investigation looking into the Obama and Clinton criminal acts while in office.
Paul Manafort first made arguments in a suit with Robert Mueller, Rod Rosenstein and Jeff Sessions as Head of the DOJ, related to illegalities in the way that Rosenstein set up the Mueller special counsel. Rosensteins special counsel order was not based on a crime and unconstitutionally stated that Mueller could basically look at anything he wanted to look at. These provisions are against the law and are now for the courts to settle.
In addition to the above suit, Robert Barnes wrote last week at Law and Crimes that Muellers actions not related to the 2016 campaign are outside the scope of Jeff Sessions recusal as AG and therefore unconstitutional
Paul Manaforts legal team brought a motion to dismiss on Tuesday, noting that Rosenstein could not appoint Mueller to any investigation outside the scope of the 2016 campaign since Sessions did not recuse himself for anything outside the campaign. I agree with this take on Muellers authority. If we follow that argument that would mean Sessions himself has exclusive authority to appoint a special counsel for non-collusion charges, and Sessions has taken no such action. Sessions himself should make that clear to Mueller, rather than await court resolution. Doing so would remove three of the four areas of inquiry from Muellers requested interview with President Trump.
Sessions formally notifying Mueller that he does not have authority to act outside of campaign-related cases and cases...
Howard Schultz is the quintessential corporate Democrat. As CEO of Starbucks, Schultz preached (and, arguably practiced) the gospel of conscious capitalism-- a creed that insists corporations can do well for their shareholders, by doing good for the world. He supports a wide variety of progressive goals that do not involve taking money away from rich people-- and even endorses a few that do. His bona fides as a woke billionaire are so robust, Hillary Clinton had reportedly planned to make him her Labor Secretary.
On Monday, Schultz resigned from the board of his coffee company, and signaled interest in a potential run for president. The coffee magnate has left his precise intentions for 2020 unclear-- but hes made his desire to influence the Democratic Partys internal politics unambiguous.
In recent interviews, Schultz has argued that progressive Democrats have grown so rigidly ideological, they can no longer recognize basic political and policy realities.

A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit against the city of Chicagos evictions of homeless people, even as officials continue to remove homeless people and fail to provide affordable housing.
Andy Thayer, an activist with Uptown Tent City Organizers (UTCO), requested a public assembly permit for a protest encampment at Stewart Mall after the city indicated it had plans to renovate two viaducts under Lake Shore Drive, where homeless Chicagoans lived.
This location is across from the office of the wards city council member, James Cappleman. Organizers believed the site would offer homeless people a highly visible location in order to protest the lack of affordable housing in the city of Chicago.
The permit was denied in March and April of 2017, and on behalf of Thayer and UTCO, the Uptown Peoples Law Center (UPLC) requested an injunction to prevent the city from evicting homeless people since there was no alternative site provided by officials for them to relocate.
Judge Sidney Schenkier declined to grant an injunction. The city of Chicago dispersed homeless people in September, a few months before winter. It also confiscated and destroyed several tents and belongings.
The UPLC amended their lawsuit to allege violations of homeless peoples First, Fourth, Fifth, and Eighth Amendment rights.
On June 6, Schenkier decided it was not in the federal courts jurisdiction to rule on the claims, and he dismissed the claim of a First Amendment violation.
Alan Mills, executive director of UPLC, said they were upset about the outcome because he believed the case had merit, and the judge could rule on it. However, what the judge decided was they were in the right place in the first place, the Illinois Circuit Court of Cook County. So, they are back where they started with nearly a years delay.
Additionally, the judge concluded UPLC needs an individual homeless person to be the plaintiff, not someone who organizes the homeless or an organization that advocates for the homeless.
The good news for the case, the bad news for the world is the city keeps doing this to people. As recently as this week, they have another [eviction] planned, Mills said. So there is no short supply of people we can use as plaintiffs.
UPLC is reviewing their options and does not know if or when they will be filing a new lawsuit on behalf of a homeless person with similar claims.
Thayer asserted, This isnt southern California. People really literally need these tents in order to survive, and the city of Chicago by forcing the dispersal of these tent cities is putting the problem of homelessness out of sight [and] out of mind so they can go back to ignoring it the way they did quite happily before the tent cities formed and became an object for the press and public to notic...

GOP Rep. Mark Sanford has spent the past three years torching President Donald Trump, firmly establishing himself as a staunch critic of the commander-in-chief who, unlike so many others in his party, never came around.
Now hes suddenly at risk of losing his job over it.
The once seemingly safe former South Carolina governor, whos never lost a bid for political office, is sweating in the final days of his primary race against state Rep. Katie Arrington, a political newcomer whos cast Sanford as a disloyal Never-Trumper.
Over the past several weeks, Sanford has launched an 11th-hour TV advertising blitz going directly after Arrington, a sure indication that hes under duress. Hes barnstorming his Lowcountry district. And on Sunday, he released a full-page letter to a local newspaper in which he pleaded with voters to look at the list of things I have gotten done on your behalf and asked them to call him on his personal cell phone if they had any questions.
Sanford is one of a string of Republican lawmakers under mounting pressure over their allegiance to the president. Alabama Rep. Martha Roby, who vowed not to vote for then-candidate Trump after the release of the Access Hollywood tape in which he bragged about sexually assaulting women, has been forced into a primary runoff.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced this ruling at an annual 3-day conference of the Executive Officer for Immigration Review (EOIR) in Virginia.
In a speech to immigration judges Monday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, It will be your duty to carry out this ruling.
Asylum was never meant to alleviate all problems, even all serious problems, that people face every day all over the world, Sessions said.
Sessions also said in his speech that the American people voted for safe secure borders when they elected Trump in 2016:
Lets be clear: We have a goal. And that goal is to end the lawlessness that now exists in our immigration system. The American people have spoken. They have spoken in our laws and they have spoken in our elections. They want a safe, secure border and a lawful system of immigration that actually works and serves the national interest. Thank you for what you do, lets deliver this for the American people.
Asylum applications exploded under the Obama administration thanks to a dangerous catch and release policy.
Obamas failed policy created a surge in illegal immigration with thousands of migrants demanding asylum at the US-Mexico border every year.
In April, a huge caravan of illegal aliens from Central America marched their way through Mexico to the US border seeking citizenship, stating gang violence as their reason to be granted asylum.
Mondays move by the Justice Department to curb asylum seekers is a start in the right direction but we still need to secure our border with a wall.
There are also millions of DREAMERs demanding citizenship because of Obamas unconstitutional DACA policy.

In a perfect encapsulation of todays divided and Russia-obsessed Democratic Party, Democrats are now fighting over whether the Putin operation is bankrolling superdelegate reform.
The Huffington Post reported:
Momentum is growing within the Democratic National Committee for a significant reform to the partys presidential nominating process, but the proposed change has caused a leading California Democrat to question whether Russian meddling is behind the effort.
The Californian, Bob Mulholland, could provide no proof for his claim. But his comments underscore the resistance the reform push is expected to encounter from some party stalwarts.
At issue is the clout exercised by so-called superdelegates in the partys presidential nominating process. At a Friday meeting of the DNCs Rules and Bylaws Committee in Rhode Island, a majority of that panel expressed support for dramatically reducing the power of superdelegates at the Democratic National Convention by barring them from having a vote on the conventions first ballot.
According to the RNC: Two years after the 2016 primary ended, the Democratic Party has still not agreed on rules that will govern its 2020 presidential nominating process. One major sticking point particularly for Bernie supporters is whether the party will eliminate its 437 superdelegates.
Congressional Democrats are seething over the prospect of that happening, and tensions are so high that an image of police beating Rep. John Lewis at Selmas 1965 voting rights march is being used to discourage superdelegate reform.

Carrin was born April 8, 1953, in Quito, Ecuador. He earned a bachelors degree in public and social sciences from Central University of Ecuador in 1974 and a Ph.D. in international sciences in 1978 from the same institution.
Carrin joined Ecuadors Foreign Service in 1974. Beginning in 1982, he was first secretary at the embassy in Paris. He returned to Ecuador in 1988 as adviser and diplomatic coordinator for then-President Rodrigo Borja Cevallos. Carrin was sent to London in 1991 and served as charg daffaires there.

He returned to Quito in 2005 as minister of foreign affairs.
Shortly after President Rafael Correa took over in 2007, Carrin was named Correas representative to the Yasuni-ITT initiative. Yasuni-ITT was a proposal that Ecuador would suspend oil extraction from the Ishpingo-Tambococha-Tiputini part of the Yasuni national park if the international community would pay Ecuador $3.6 billion to make up for the lost revenue. The plan was abandoned in 2013.
Carrin was named Ecuadors permanent representative to the United Nations in November 2009, serving until 2011, when he left the diplomatic corps because of disagreements with Correas policies. He had been chairman of the UNs Decolonization Committee.
Since then, Carrin has taught and written a newspaper column for Diario El Comercio. During this period, he did serve as president of the International Committee of the United Nations for the Protection of the Rights of Migrant Workers and Their Families. Carrin was appointed U.S. ambassador by Lenn Moreno, who took over the presidency from Correa in May 2017.

Fox News reported:
The Supreme Court ruled Monday that Ohio is allowed to purge eligible voters from the states registration records if they have not cast ballots in a while.
In a 5-4 ruling issued by Justice Samuel Alito, the high court ruled that Ohios law to trigger the removal of inactive voters from the states registry can be enforced.
State officials argued that the process used by Ohio for more than 20 years is constitutional and legal, and meant to ensure election security.
Civil liberties groups challenged the states program for removing thousands of people from voter rolls based on their failure to vote in recent elections, claiming it violated the National Voter Registration Act.
But Alito said that Ohio is complying with the National Voter Registration Act of 1993. At least six other states have similar rules in place, and Mondays decision could lead others to adopt similar procedures.
It is undisputed that Ohio does not remove a registrant on change-of-residence grounds unless the registrant is sent and fails to mail back a return card and then fails to vote for an additional four years, Alito wrote in his opinion.
He concluded: We have no authority to second-guess Congress or to decide whether Ohios Supplemental Process is the ideal method for keeping its voting rolls up to date. The only question before us is whether it violates federal law. It does not.
Ohio has been purging its voter rolls for over 20 years.
The state removes voters from the rolls after the election board sends a notice and if the individual hasnt voted in 4 years.
Justice Alito cited a shocking statistic that 24 million voter reg...

Physics is the simplest science, a hard won truth that Eli has
reached after many years in many fields. A bunny can do a lot of
physics with pencil and paper, maybe even without those if enough
homework has been passed in and marked.
This may seem, perhaps, a bit simplistic to some and mistaken to your average physicist, but consider, science is done through a mix of observation and computation. Physicists in the 17th century didnt have to observe very much before they could start generating computational theories using pen and paper and testing them against observation. Physics is simple enough that one only need observe a few things before starting to build theories and compute results that could be compared to observations.
Other areas, not so simple. Lavoisier put it well, you cannot have a science without an agreed nomenclature because without you cannot talk about anything.
The impossibility of separating the nomenclature of a science from the science itself, is owing to this, that every branch of physical science must consist of three things; the series of facts which are the objects of the science, the ideas which represent these facts, and the words by which these ideas are expressed. Like three impressions of the same seal, the word ought to produce the idea, and the idea to be a picture of the fact. And, as ideas are preserved and communicated by means of words, it necessarily follows that we cannot improve the language of any science without at the same time improving the science itself; neither can we, on the other hand, improve a science, without improving the language or nomenclature which belongs to it. However certain the facts of any science may be, and, however just the ideas we may have formed of these facts, we can only communicate false impressions to others, while we want words by which these may be properly expressedA useful working definition of science, a well liquored and tasty combination of observation, ideas and discussio.

In an op-ed published on Friday by Inside Higher Ed, Professor Victor Ray wrote that the rights call for so-called diversity of thought is a Trojan horse for white identity politics.
Rays article was focused on calls for broadening ideological diversity on campus, as Republican students have frequently been silenced or unable to host speakers who share their views.
In his piece, Ray lays out three faulty premises of support for diversity of thought. He claims that people on the right are not supporting the freedom of ideas in good faith, that that conservative ideas are not marginalized in higher education, and that it should be strongly questioned is the very idea that conservative thought is diverse.
Certain conservative foundations, activists and professors have used diversity of thought as a political tactic to exert power over higher educational institutions. This rhetorical move like appeals to merit or free speech works precisely because everyone likes to believe that so-called diversity of thought is an unabashed good. Robust debate in the search of truth is a general academic principle. The key here is that this is a political project aimed at making racist and misogynist ideas acceptable, Ray wrote.
Ray also claims that the majority of people advocating for [diversity of thought] are white men.

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) claimed that she didnt really know enough about the mistreatment of illegal immigrants to pay attention to it during the eight years that Barack Obama was in office.
Appearing on CNN on Friday, Feinstein was questioned by Jake Tapper about the recent viral photo shared by many Democrats of children in a holding cell. The photo was being used to condemn President Trump but it was taken during the Obama era.
There were a lot of things done to undocumented immigrants that the immigrant community was very upset about during the Obama years, that Democrats didnt seem as outspoken about, Tapper stated. What do you say to people who are saying, where was all this activism during the Obama years?'
Senator Feinstein then admitted that she had previously ignored the issue, and claimed that it is worse now.
I dont believe that it was nearly to the extent that it is today. And candidly, I didnt really know enough about it at that time to focus on it, Feinstein said.

Last March at the Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, D.C., President Donald Trump joked, I wont rule out direct talks with Kim Jong Un I just wont. As far as the risk of dealing with a madman is concerned, thats his problem, not mine.
This may be the only genuinely funny thing Trump has ever said. And it was funny cause its true. Trumps behavior toward North Korea in 2017 was berserk and terrifying. Equally so was his recent hiring of ultrahawk John Bolton who believes it would be perfectly legal and admirable for the U.S. to attack North Korea right this second as his national security adviser. Trumps bombastic exchange of threats with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un was a key reason why the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists moved its Doomsday Clock to two minutes to midnight, the closest its ever been.
Yet the Washington, D.C., foreign policy Blob (as dubbed by Ben Rhodes, one of Barack Obamas top aides) cannot perceive whats right in front of its face that the danger in this situation comes almost wholly from the United States in general and Trump in particular. Under these circumstances, Trumps willingness to spurn the Blob and meet Kim in Singapore on Tuesday is an unmitigated good, and the only thing that matters about the outcome is whether it will place roadblocks between Trump and a catastrophic, potentially nuclear war. Anything beyond that is lagniappe.
The Blob, however, has spent the past several weeks fretting that the U.S. is gifting North Korea with an unearned photo op, or that Trump will be outmaneuvered and duped into an imperfect deal in other words, concerns that are, at this moment in history, totally irrelevant. Top Senate Democrats have even attacked Trump from the right, demanding that any agreement that provides any sanctions relief to North Korea must require the country to surrender not just its nuclear weapons but all chemical and biological weapons as well.

On Friday the President said
President Donald Trump expressed confidence Friday that he is fully prepared for his planned summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, but with only days to go until the historic event, Democrats and experts still have reservations about his negotiating strategy.
I always believe in preparation, but Ive been preparing all my life, Trump told reporters outside the White House on Friday morning before leaving for the G7 summit in Canada. He is scheduled to leave there on Saturday morning to travel to Singapore, where he is set to meet with Kim Tuesday to discuss shutting down the reclusive regimes nuclear weapons program.
The President is right and there is video evidence to prove it. Not only has he been negotiating mega deals for a living on some of the priciest and most beautiful real estate properties on earth, he also used these skills to win the US election for President beating 17 Republican hopefuls and the crooked Clinton machine. The President also had a best seller (The Art of the Deal) and held one of the nations number one TV show for years (remember Youre Fired!).
But there is also proof that the President has been thinking about how to deal with North Korea for years.
President Trump was on Meet the Press nearly 20 years ago where he provided his ideas about North Korea.
Donald Trump: The biggest problem this world has is nuclear proliferation. And we have this country out there, North Korea, that is sort of wacko. Which is not a bunch of dummies and they are going out and they are developing nuclear weapons And wouldnt it be good to sit down and really negotiate something? And if that negotiation doesnt work youre better to solve the problem now than solve it later.

Roughly a year ago, I took my first book Confessions of an Online Hustler off-sale because I believed that in an age of omnipresent Internet censorship, much of the advice it in was no longer worth charging for. (You can now get it for free by signing up for my mailing list.) Back then, I believed that the struggles myself and other dissident right figures were going through would be temporary. That the clouds would part and we could go back to changing the world.
Its time to face facts: we are in the middle of a second dotcom crash.
What do I mean by this? I mean that Web 2.0, the dominant paradigm of the Internet for the past decade, is dying. Much like how the first dotcom crash wiped out countless startupsand allowed others such as Amazon and eBay to achieve dominancethe second dotcom crash is destroying the livelihoods of everyone who creates online content for a living. Left, right, center, apolitical: independent writers, YouTube hosts, and other creators are being squeezed out to make the Internet safe for corporations and controlled opposition.
Im one of those creators whove been wiped out. Most of you know that I was banned from Twitter in November 2016, losing access to over 10,000 followers who read, promoted, and supported my work. Earlier that year, I was also banned from Amazon Associates, a hit to my income. Two months later, after President Trump was inaugurated, I noticed a sudden and inexplicable drop in my sites search traffic. Because much of my blog income (book sales and affiliate marketing) came via random Internet searches, my cash flow plummeted to the point where I was forced to find a job in order to support myself.
I believe that after the inauguration, Google targeted my site with some kind of anti-fake news algorithm, choking me off from potential new readersand also choking off my ability to make a living. Since then, my search traffic has continued to dwindle, to the point where my audience is roughly the same size it was when I first started this blog back in 2012-2013. The Department of Justice continues to ignore requests from
Congress on their actions against candidate Trump during the 2016
FOX News reported:
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., has given the Justice Department until Tuesday to provide access to documents concerning the FBIs alleged informant looking into any Russian ties to President Trumps 2016 campaign.
In a letter sent Friday to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Nunes said the records should be provided to all committee members and designated staff rather than just the so-called Gang of Eight which refers to Republican and Democratic leaders in both houses of Congress as well as top lawmakers from the intelligence panels.
DOJ continues to obfuscate and delay its production using an array of tactics, such as incorrectly categorizing the requested documents as Gang-of-Eight-level material in order to limit access, wrote Nunes, referring to an April 30 subpoena for the documents. Such conduct by DOJ is unacceptable because the Gang-of-Eight is a legal fiction that has no basis outside of the confines of Presidential approval and reporting of covert actions.
Nunes also wrote, Your continued refusal to permit Members of Congress and designated staff to review the requested documents is obstruction of a lawful Congressional investigation.

Robert DeNiro used an awards ceremony speech for high school students this week to go on a profane rant about President Trump, even comparing the president to Nazi leader Adolph Hitler.
Trump and Republicans in Congress have a problem telling the truth, DeNiro warned while addressing student recipients of the Rosemary Breslin American Writer Award in New York.
What does the truth even mean today? I mean, if youre Donald Trump it doesnt mean anything. If youre cowardly Republican enablers in Congress you dont let the truth stand in the way of pathetically clinging to power, he said as the audience laughed and applauded. Our country is led by a president who believes he can make up his own truth. And we have a word for that bullshit.
The 72-year-old Godfather star argued Trumps mental health makes him unfit for office.
You might say, as have many professionals, that Trump manifests a serious mental illness that renders him psychologically incapable of discharging duties of the President of the United States, he said. That hes afflicted with a narcissistic personality disorder.
That hes a congenital liar. A mean-spirited, soulless, amoral, abusive con-artist son of a bitch. Fuck Donald Trump, he continued. And I say this, cause I am not political, but I am now. You guys are the future.
DeNiro, who threatened to punch Trump in the face during the 2016 election, then argued the president is no different than Adolf Hitler, whose leadership of Nazi Germany during World War II led to mass genocide that killed over 60 million people.
Were in a dangerous situation with Hitler, with other despots, people didnt take them seriously, they laughed at them, he remarked. And then what happened, they turned around and it was too late. We cant let that happen in this country and you guys are the ones to do it.
Some members of the audience continued to cheer as DeNiro slighted the president. But others were turned off.
Inappropriate, one woman could be heard interjecting. What does this have to do with the kids?

Skin in the Game: Hidden Asymmetries in Daily Life
Nassim Nicholas Taleb
Random House, 2018
To review Skin in the Game is a risky undertaking. The author has little use for book reviewers who, he tells us, are bad middlemen. Book reviews are judged according to how plausible and well-written they are; never in how they map the book (unless of course the author makes them responsible for misrepresentations).
The risk is very much worth undertaking, though, because Skin in the Game is an excellent book, filled with insights. These insights stress a central antithesis. Irresponsible people, with what C.D. Broad called clever silly intellectuals prominent among them, defend reckless policies that impose risks on others but not on themselves. They have no skin in the game, and in this to Taleb lies their chief defect.
Interventionist foreign policy suffers from this defect. A collection of people classified as interventionistas who promoted the Iraq invasion of 2003, as well as the removal of the Libyan leader in 2011, are advocating the imposition of additional such regime change on another batch of countries, which includes Syria, because it has a dictator. So we tried that thing called regime change in Iraq, and failed miserably. But we satisfied the objective of removing a dictator. By the same reasoning, a doctor would inject a patient with moderate cancer cells to improve his cholesterol numbers, and proudly claim victory after the patient is dead, particularly if the postmortem showed remarkable cholesterol readings.
But what has this to do with risk? The fallacy of the interventionists, Taleb tells us, is that they disregard the chance that their schemes will fail to work as planned. A key theme of Talebs work is that uncertain outcomes mandate caution.
And when a blowup happens, they invoke uncertainty, something called a Black Swan (a high-impact unexpected event), not realizing that one should not mess with a system if the results are fraught with uncertainty, or, more generally, should avoid engaging in an action with a big downside if one has no idea of the outcomes.
The same mistaken conception of risk affects economic policy. For instance, bank blowups came in 2008 because of the accumulation of hidden and asymmetric risks in the system: bankers, master risk transferors, could make steady money from a certain class of concealed explosive risks, use academic risk models that dont work except on paper then invoke uncertainty after a blowup and keep past income what I have called the Bob Rubin trade.
Instead of relying on mathematical models, economists should realize that the...
In any analysis of contemporary international politics it pays to be cautiously pessimistic. As the default mode one can generally expect that any way in which things can go wrong to threaten the peace and security of the planet, they will. Anticipation of improvement is a chumps bet.
Thats why the analysts gut instinct rebels at any indication that things overall may be moving in a positive direction, however haltingly or indirectly. But consider:
The ill-feeling among leaders of the G-7 nations essentially, the West plus Japan was mirrored early this morning in the puking financial market futures, so odious, apparently, is the presence of Americas Golden Golem of Greatness at the Quebec meet-up of First World poobahs. Its hard to blame them. The GGG refuses to play nice in the sandbox of the old order.
Like many observers here in the USA, I cant tell exactly whether Donald Trump is out of his mind or justifiably blowing up out-of-date relationships and conventions in a world that is desperately seeking a new disposition of things. The West had a mighty good run in the decades since the fiascos of the mid-20th century. My guess is that were witnessing a slow-burning panic over the impossibility of maintaining the enviable standard of living weve all enjoyed.
All the jabber is about trade and obstacles to trade, but the real action probably emanates from the energy sector, especially oil. The G-7 nations are nothing without it, and the supply is getting sketchy at the margins in a way that probably and rightfully scares them. Id suppose, for instance, that the recent run-up in oil prices from $40-a barrel to nearly $80 has had the usual effect of dampening economic activity worldwide. For some odd reason, the media doesnt pay attention to any of that. But its become virtually an axiom that oil over $75-a-barrel smashes economies while oil under $75-a-barrel crushes oil companies.
Mr. Trump probably believes that the USA is in the catbird seat with oil because of the so-called shale oil miracle. If so, he is no more deluded than the rest of his fellow citizens, including government officials and journalists, who have failed to notice that the economics of shale oil dont pencil out or are afraid to say. The oil companies are not making a red cent at it, despite the record-breaking production numbers that recently exceeded the previous all-time-peak set in 1970. The public believes that were energy independent now, which is simply not true because we still import way more oil than we export: 10.7 million barrels incoming versus 7.1 million barrels a day outgoing (US EIA).
Shale oil is not a miracle so much as a spectacular stunt: how to leverage cheap debt for a short-term bump in resource extraction at the expense of a future that will surely be starved for oil. Now that the world is having major problems with excessive debt, it is also going to have major problems with oil. The quarrels over trade arise from this unacknowledged predicament: there will be less of everything that the economically hyper-developed nations want and need, including capital. So, whats shaping up is a fight over the table-scraps of the banquet that is shutting down.
That quandary is surely enough to make powerful nations very nervous. It may also prompt them to actions and outcomes that were previously unthinkable. At the moment the excessive debt...
The world will be closely watching as a historic summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un takes place on Tuesday 12 June in Singapore, to discuss nuclear disarmament. North Korea has already taken steps to denuclearize by ending nuclear and long-range missile tests, and the question is whether the meeting will lead to further dismantling. Jim Rogers, legendary investor and chairman of Rogers Holdings, spoke to IG ahead of the summit and said he is very, very keen to invest in North Korea, adding that there will be great fortunes made in North Korea once this opens up. Rogers clarifies that he is unable to invest in North Korea at the moment but said he thinks North Korea today is where China was in 1981.
The Bilderberg Group is holding another of its secrecy-laden meetings. Some see the gathering as a chance for the global elite to hobnob and work out a common policy. Others claim its a shadow world government. Daniele Scalea, an analyst from the Machiavelli Center for Political and Strategic Studies, says the truth is somewhere in between.
Sputnik: Mr. Scalea, what is the Bilderberg Group? Who created it and to what purpose?
Daniele Scalea: The Bilderberg Group is a sort of elite club which meets annually. It was founded in the 1950s, and gathered the representatives of the political, economic and social elite of North America and Europe. The initiative was part of the Atlanticist effort against the Soviet Union during the Cold War. The founder of the group was exiled Polish politician Jozef Retinger, founder of the Council of Europe and the European Movement, acting with the approval of the White House and the patronage of Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands.
The aim of maintaining the link between the US and Europe was not lost even after the dissolution of the USSR, but gradually the emphasis shifted to promoting ideas of a free market and global governance.
The Bilderberg Group is a perfect example of a transnational and cosmopolitan elite, which has dictated its rules to politicians and media over the course of many years. Therefore, some conspiracy theorists have exaggerated its role by painting it as a real world government.
Sputnik: Each year, 120-150 people from various countries meet for the Bilderberg meeting. The meetings closed nature and the heavy security measures surrounding them create an aura of mystery. What sorts of characteristics must a person have to be accepted into this club?
Daniele Scalea: They must be a member of the establishment of the economic, political or cultural elite. Furthermore, their views must be in line with the position of this establishment; i.e., he or she must actively support globalism the scenario under which the entire world should be united by a single economic and ideological system, as well as a unified structure of administration and control. But there are also members of the club who do not necessarily share these guiding principles.

How to safely store your money for a variety of circumstances. How to store it in your bug out bag so it doesnt get lost or stolen the moment youre on the move. How to store it physically in your home where thieves and (if push comes to shove) the government wont be able to find it. If youre lucky enough to live on enough land where making a cache makes sense, how to do that effectively, mostly so you dont forget about it.
The first rule to storing valuables is to not tell anyone where you put them. Your spouse, adult children, and closest friends are pretty much the only exceptions to this. Young children might tell someone if pressured but, you know best how your child would handle such a secret.
The more people who know where your money is the bigger chance they tell someone they shouldnt. You also, ideally, shouldnt be seen by anyone adding to or taking from the storage, so they cant put two and two together.
While you might trust your neighbors and friends right now, when SHTF they may attempt to steal from you. In the meantime, they could gossip about your stash with unsavory characters, not realizing that their distant nephew, for example, may take advantage of that knowledge. Prepping for theft is just as important as prepping for any other unfortunate circumstance.
Cash in Your Bug Out Bag
Keeping a wad of cash in your bug-out-bag, emergency car kit, or get-home bag is a smart idea. If the power goes out cash will still be accepted and that can get you anything you need, from supplies to bribes. Even if civilization is collapsing, most people wont think of the disaster as long term and will still be moved by a flash of a hundred dollar bill.
Ideally, you would have both small bills and large bills. Dont carry coinsthey make noise and are heavier. Just have a few fives instead, some vending machines these days even take cash. Still, the cash is no good to you if they get stolen, so where do you stash them?
First, place the cash in a water-proof bag, a generic Ziploc bag will do. Then you want to place the bag inside of an unassuming container within your baga place a thief would never think you would hide money, that ideally takes some time to open. Ideally, if someone decides to dump out your bag, or if you take a tumble, the cash wont be visible when it falls out. Possibilities include:
a blogger wanted to know why there are virtually no electric cars in Russia. Putin explained that electric cars actually mostly run on coal, which is whats used to generate the electricity they run on, and coal is not an environmentally friendly fuel The blogger was positively shocked by this bit of non-news. Teslas burn coal, very inefficiently; I hope you already knew this.
Yesterday I spent four hours watching television. This is not something I normally do because I find the entire television medium tedious, boring and a waste of time. All television programs are, in my case, a bad idea, because I dislike being programmed. In fact, I dont even own a TV. When I need to watch something, I do so in a window on the screen of my laptop. But this was a special occasion.
What I watched was Putins nearly four-hour annual live Q&A marathon. People all over Russia submitted questionsover 2.3 million of themby calling in, writing in, texting, recording videos, giving interviews to television crews. A very large team then organized the questions into general themes and prepared the most representative and best-expressed ones to be presented. A fair number of questions were asked live, on screen.
The main reason I watched the whole thing was because I had asked Putin a question, and I wanted to see if he was going to answer it. He did.
A news story covering Putins answer to the authors question.
Isnt it in Russias interest to attract as many of them as possible, by making the process by which they can return to Russia easy and pleasant?
My specific question wasnt read out on the air, but it appears that my question, or similar ones, filtered through, because Putin definitely answered it. Also, some of the same points were made in front of television cameras by a group of refugees from Eastern Ukraine. They pointed out that the laws require them to go home every 90 days, but home to wherea war zone? They have children that have already been traumatized by having to hide in bomb shelters while their homes were being shelled by the Ukrainian military. They also pointed out that to apply for permission to stay, then residency, then citizenship, they have to spend money on meeting paperwork requirements, and to make that money they have to work, but they arent allowed to work until they meet the paperwork requirements: a Catch-22.
Putins answer was:
We will go down the path of liberalizing everything connected with receiving Russian citizenship.
He mentioned that there already exist new legislative proposals. He spoke about the echo of the low birth rate during the 1990s and made it clear that attracting compatriots is a priority. He asked that the Minister of Internal Affairs be video-conferenced in and told him:
You are required to initiate these p...
Cash for Clunkers stimulated demand for new cars in the manner of digging holes and then filling them up again. It reduced the available supply of good used cars by paying people to throw away perfectly good used cars.
Something similar is under way right now, but its subtler and so most people havent noticed it yet.
Unless theyve begun shopping around for a used car. If they have, they will have noticed an uptick in used car prices; that certain makes/models and years are not holding their value but gaining it.
That is contrary to the usual natural course of things. Cars age, accrue miles and depreciate (lose value). People replace them with new cars. But the latest crop of new cars has technology many people dont want and so theyre not buying new but looking for old.
Just old enough to not have the latest safety technologies, such as steering assist which vies with you for control over the car. Or automated emergency braking that peremptorily slams on the brakes when theres no emergency (hyper-caution is programmed into the system). Or drive-by-wire control over throttle and transmission which means no mechanical control over the engine or the transmission. If the engine decides to floor itself, theres not much you can do except hang on and hope for the best especially if the transmission (gear selector) is drive-by-wire, too and so theres no mechanical way to force the transmission into Neutral in order to at least disconnect a run-away engine, if you cant shut the damned thing down.
Almost all new cars also have electric parking brakes rather than manual (drive-controlled) emergency brakes and many people me among them are not comfortable driving a car that cant be manually stopped in the event of an emergency.
These technologies are being practically force-fed to the public by the combined efforts of the car industry which has decided theres gold in them thar hills, that it is better to join em than to fight em and so lets make this stuff standard and thus make more money and, of course, the safety apparat in Washington, which has every incentive to mandate whatever is possible and no incentive at all to leave it up to the buyers, since that places control in their hands rather than the apparats.
The result is that even entry-level and family-priced cars now commonly have some or even all of the features just described, which just two or three years ago were very rare and mostly found only in high-dollar cars.
Within another couple of years, it will probably be impossible to find a new car that doesnt come standard with most of these features as well as other features that are currently in development including passive alcohol detectors and direct-link communication with smart roads for purposes of tax-by-mile programs (already being implemented) as well as other things, including giving the gove...
In a recent communication between Randy Credico, an Assange supporter, comic and radio producer, and Adam Schiff, the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee, Assanges fear of arrest and extradition to the US was confirmed by the leader of the Russia-gate frenzy.
Credico received the following response from Schiff after meeting the Congressmans staff, in which Credico was trying to connect Assange with Schiff: Our committee would be willing to interview Assange when he is in U.S. Custody and not before.
Dennis Bernstein spoke with John Pilger, a close friend and supporter of Assange on May 29. The interview began with the statement Bernstein delivered for Pilger at the Left Forum last weekend in New York on a panel devoted to Assange entitled, Russia-gate and WikiLeaks.
There is a silence among many who call themselves left. The silence is Julian Assange. As every false accusation has fallen away, every bogus smear shown to be the work of political enemies, Julian stands vindicated as one who has exposed a system that threatens humanity. The Collateral Damage video, the war logs of Afghanistan and Iraq, the Cablegate revelations, the Venezuela revelations, the Podesta email revelations these are just a few of the storms of raw truth that have blown through the capitals of rapacious power. The fakery of Russia-gate, the collusion of a corrupt media and the shame of a legal system that pursues truth-tellers have not been able to hold back the raw truth of WikiLeaks revelations. They have not won, not yet, and they have not destroyed the man. Only the silence of good people will allow them to win. Julian Assange has never been more isolated. He needs your support and your voice. Now more than ever is the time to demand justice and free speech for Julian. Thank you.
Dennis Bernstein: We continue our discussion of the case of Julian Assange, now in the Ecuadorian embassy in Great Britain. John Pilger, it is great to talk to you again. But it is a profound tragedy, John, the way they are treating Julian Assange, this prolific journalist and publisher who so many other journalists have depended on in the past. He has been totally left out in the cold to fend for himself.
John Pilger: I have never known anything like it. There is a kind of eerie silence around the Julian Assange case. Julian has been vindicated in every possible way and yet he is isolated as few people are these days. He is cut off from the very tools of his trade, visitors arent allowed. I was in London recently and I couldnt see him, although I spoke to people who had seen him. Rafael Correa, the former president of Ecuador, said recently that he regarded what they are doing to Julian now as torture. It was Correas government that gave Julian political refuge, which has been betrayed now by his successor, the government led by Lenin Moreno, which is back to sucking up to the Unit...
Youre lost in the woods, without phone service, and you need a way to signal your location to rescuers on the ground or low-flying aircraft.
Your city is roiled in rioting and chaos, some bad dudes are advancing towards you, and you need to create a distraction to escape and evade them.
Its a weekend afternoon, your kids are bored, and youd love to show them a fun and fiery science experiment.
Whether for survival, tactical, or experimental purposes, smoke bombs can be employed in a variety of scenarios.
Theyre cheap, small and portable, and incredibly easy to make at home. You can keep them in hiking packs, car glove compartments, garages, etc. You never know when one will come in handy and either provide some weekend entertainment, or perhaps even save your life. Below, I walk you through the simple steps in making homemade smoke bombs on your kitchen stove.
Note: You are of course playing with fire for this experiment, so be prepared and be safe. A bucket of water (or fire extinguisher) is good to have on hand, and when lighting the bomb, use protective eyewear and some sort of breathing filter/mask. The smoke can be toxic, and if the wind blows the wrong way you could be accidentally inhaling it.
One of the primary reasons why the middle class in America is disappearing so rapidly is because of skyrocketing health care costs. Families all over the country are being absolutely crushed by extremely high health insurance premiums, ridiculously high deductibles and very large out-of-pocket expenses that were not anticipated. In fact, medical bills are the number one reason why individuals go bankrupt in the United States today. Once upon a time, the medical profession was all about helping people, but today it has become a heartless money-making operation that is dominated by health insurance corporations and pharmaceutical companies. If we do not make major changes quickly, our out of control health care system will destroy the middle class in our country all by itself.
I knew that health care costs were astronomical, but I had no idea that health care costs for an average family of four for one year had hit $28,166
The total costs for a typical family of four insured by the most common health plan offered by employers will average $28,166 this year, according to the annual Milliman Medical Index.
The estimate includes the average cost of health insurance paid by employers and employees, as well as deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses.
That is a crazy amount of money. Once upon a time, you could buy an entire house in America for $28,000. But now that will only cover health care costs for a single year.
The largest portion of that amount goes to pay for health insurance. For those that receive health benefits at work, usually the employer pays most of that bill
Last year, the premium for the most popular health plan offered by employers what is known as a preferred provider organization for family coverage was $19,481, according to the annual survey done by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Health Research & Educational Trust.
Employers paid $13,430 and employees paid $6,050 of the premium on average.
When you break down that total, it comes to more than $1,500 a month just for health insurance.
That is insane.
And of course those of us that are self-employed or that work for businesses that dont provide health insurance have to pay for it all on our own.
Needless to say, that can be financially crippling. And thanks to Obamacare, it is harder than ever before. Not too...
A quick look at the average western diet presents an obvious truth when it comes to the state of wellness in the west; for the most part, we are eating ourselves sick.
Interestingly, how we combat the reality of our sick state is often disconnected from the reasons why we got sick in the first place; our diets. What if doctors prescribed dietary changes first before even looking at medication, especially if its not needed? What if food was seen as a mechanism to prevent illness? I believe there is a growing body of people looking at our diets in this manner, but for the most part were blind to the fact that our diet is likely one of the biggest contributors to why we are sick.
Of course emotions and our state of being is another huge factor, but lets start here for now.
A recent study found that a diet rich in acidic foods increases uric acid levels in the body, leading to conditions such as gout (form of arthritis), joint pain, and uric acid crystallization.
What you might notice here is that the average western diet is very acidic, so is it any surprise that so many struggle with these conditions?
Peter was suddenly jolted from his sleep by a sharp and throbbing pain in his left foot. He looked down to see that his big toe was extremely swollen and red, so tender and sore that even the lightest friction from the bed sheet was too much to bear. This was becoming a common occurrence in his life, a highly inconvenient one at that.
Wendy could barely function at work. She struggled to even finish her morning coffee for fear of having to go to the bathroom, for every time she did, she would nearly pass out from the immense pain shooting through her belly and pubic area. This was her second case of kidney stones in the same year.
If you or somebody you know is suffering from kidney issues, joint pain, or a condition known as gout, then you probably know how unfortunate it is to experience a lower quality of life at the hands of a debilitating ailment.
According to Global RPH, approximately 2 million people suffer from gout, a form or arthritis, 75-90% of which are men. Gout has been known to lead to painful conditions such as kidney stones due to the build up of uric acid in the blood or urine.
Although there are multiple factors which can lead to high levels of uric acid in the body, a recent study suggests that uric acid build-up can be linked to one substantial factor an ...
President Trump affirms the U.S. position to use targeted tariffs to assert reciprocity as the trade standard. Free and fair trade is the goal via removing tariffs and non trade barriers:
President Trump upset the Group of Seven meeting in Canada by first agreeing to a group statement on trade only to withdraw from it while complaining that he had been blindsided by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeaus comments after he departed early for Singapore.
On Sunday night President Trump continued to take swipes at the globalists.
President Trump: Fair Trade is now to be called Fool Trade if it is not Reciprocal. According to a Canada release, they make almost 100 Billion Dollars in Trade with U.S. (guess they were bragging and got caught!). Minimum is 17B. Tax Dairy from us at 270%. Then Justin acts hurt when called out! Why should I, as President of the United States, allow countries to continue to make Massive Trade Surpluses, as they have for decades, while our Farmers, Workers & Taxpayers have such a big and unfair price to pay? Not fair to the PEOPLE of America! $800 Billion Trade Deficit And add to that the fact that the U.S. pays close to the entire cost of NATO-protecting many of these same countries that rip us off on Trade (they pay only a fraction of the cost-and laugh!). The European Union had a $151 Billion Surplus-should pay much more for Military! Germany pays 1% (slowly) of GDP towards NATO, while we pay 4% of a MUCH larger GDP. Does anybody believe that makes sense? We protect Europe (which is good) at great financial loss, and then get unfairly clobbered on Trade. Change is coming!

National Security Adviser to former President Obama, Susan Rice, repudiated President Trump Sunday after Trump called on Russia to be readmitted to G7.
Russia was expelled from the group then known as G8 (Group of Eight) in 2014, after the majority of member countries allied against its annexation of Crimea the first violation of a European countrys borders since World War II.
Trump first expressed support for Russias readmission into the G-7 on the White House lawn Friday before departing for the G7 summit in Canada.
Whether you like it or not, and it may not be politically correct, but we have a world to run, he said. And in the G-7, which used be the G-8, they threw Russia out. They should let Russia come back in because we should have Russia at the negotiating table.
The president doubled down on Saturday ufor Singapore, blasting the Obama administration for allowing Russia to annex Crimea.
Obama, was the one that let Crimea get away. He allowed Russia to take Crimea. I may have had a much different attitude, Trump said. I think it would be an asset to have Russia back in. I think it would be good for the world. I think it would be good for Russia. I think it would be good for the United States. I think it would be good for all of the countries of the current G7. I think the G8 would be better.
Trumps insistence that Russia should be allowed back into the international partnership is disgraceful, Rice lamented Sunday on CBS Face the Nation..
Rather than understand Russia is our adversary, Russia had taken on behavior that is absolutely reprehensible. For the president of the United States to suggest all is forgotten, that that doesnt matter, that we are fine with one country annexing another countrys sovereign territory and we should just welcome them with open arms into a community of democracies is outrageous, she said. Its a disgraceful statement. The fact of the matter is Russia had invaded Georgia. It then had invaded Ukraine. We rallied the entire European Union and many other partners to impose tough sanctions on Russia for its annexation. We supported the Ukrainian government to build up its defensive military capacity, and along with our G7 partners, we agreed that Russia should no longer be part of this community of the G8.
Thats outrageous, she continued. The United States has long upheld international law. It was the most brazen violation of another countrys sovereignty thats occurred in recent years. For the president of the United States to blame his predecessor rather than to understand that Russia is our adversary Russia has taken on behavior that is absolutely reprehensible, includin...

A federal lawsuit filed in a Virginia court this week by attorney Dan Backer accused as many as 40 state Democrat parties of illegally funneling $84 million into Hillary Clintons presidential campaign.
You had individuals giving $300,000. Theyre not doing it because they care about Nevadas or Arkansas state party. Theyre doing it to curry favor with and buy influence with Hillary Clinton, Dan Backer told the Las Vegas Review Journal.
Attorney Dan Backer told the paper he filed the lawsuit after the FEC ignored a deadline for taking action stemming from a previous complaint.
Various spokesmen for state Democrat parties pushed back on the lawsuit claiming its a publicity stunt to distract from problems plaguing the Republican party.
As The Gateway Pundit reported in December, Hillary Clintons campaign and the DNC got hit with their second FEC complaint.
The complaint alleged Hillary and the DNC used state chapters as strawmen to go around campaign donation limits and ultimately laundered the money [$84 million] back to her presidential campaign.
CDP (Committee to Defend the President) counsel Dan Backer points to a SCOTUS case that first recognized this exact practice as illegal.
CDP counsel Dan Backer said the scheme was a flagrant violation of a Supreme Court ruling that determined such moves were illegal and broke FEC campaign contribution rules which state that an individual can contribute only $2,700 directly to a presidential campaign.[SCOTUS] first recognized these practices were illegal when it ruled in a 2014 case involving Shaun McCutcheon, a businessman and electrical engineer from suburban Birmingham, Ala., who created the Conservative Action Fund PAC. McCutcheon filed suit against the FEC challenging federal campaign contribution limits. It was Backer who assisted in filing the suit.
According to the complaint filed, previous reports showed transactions where the Hilla...

Saudi Arabia gave White House aides jewellery worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in large suitcases, according to Ben Rhodes, former speechwriter and deputy national security adviser in the Obama administration.
In his memoir The World As It Is, published on Tuesday, Rhodes recounts a trip to Saudi Arabia in June 2009 soon after Barack Obama became president.

The Democratic Party is led by hypocritical males who publicly support the #MeToo movement exposing endemic sexual harassment of women in the workplace. But in private those male Democrat elected officials, donors and party insiders express support for former Sen. Al Franken (D-MN). who was forced to resign this past January over several accusations of sexual misconduct, while they blame Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) for his downfall.
A radio news anchor on Thursday accused Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., of forcibly kissing and groping her a decade ago when they were overseas entertaining U.S. troops. Leeann Tweeden, a radio news anchor with KABC in Los Angeles, said she met Franken in December 2006, before he became a lawmaker, at a USO show for service members that included a skit he wrote that featured a kiss between the two. (excerpt NBC News, Nov. 17, 2017.)
The true feelings of D.C. male Democrat leaders was reported after George Soros and former President Bill Clinton spoke out publicly this week in support of Franken.
New York Times national political reporter Astead Herndon, who recently moved to the Times from the Boston Globe, wroted on Twitter what hes been told by male Democrat elites in Washington, D.C. Herndon keyed off comments made by George Soros in an interview with the Washington Post this week in which Soros expressed similar views of Franken and Gillibrand.
Soros, who said he wants to avoid dividing the party, also refused to pick favorites among the emerging crop of 2020 Democratic presidential contenders. But there is one prospective candidate he said he hopes does not get the nod: Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York.
He blames Gillibrand for pushing the resignation of former senator Al Fra...
President Trump lashed out at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Saturday after leaving the G7 meetings early to attend peace talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Upon leaving the summit the President tweeted his disapproval of the weak and dishonest Trudeau for all the world to see
PM Justin Trudeau of Canada acted so meek and mild during our @G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, US Tariffs were kind of insulting and he will not be pushed around. Very dishonest & weak. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!

This was after Justin Trudeau took a couple of pot-shots
at President Trump after he left the summit.
Trudeau promised to impose retaliatory tariffs against US products after Trump left the meetings in Canada.

The President preceded the above tweet with a tweet about the PMs statements being false at his news conference
Based on Justins false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!

Having all the power of being the Queens party boss is not enough for Crowley. He wants to use the privilege he has as a White male in power to snuff out his opponent by stoking fears about ethnicity or race to his largely White audiences, as his recent political event was described.
Long before Ocasio-Cortez ever decided to challenge Crowley in a Congressional primary this year, though, Crowley made issues of race central to how Queens was going to be governed. One need not look too far to see how Crowley has used race and White privilege in Queens to further his own ideas about what is fair about who holds elected office.
Before Crowley inherited his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, Richard Brown (Establishment-NY) was first appo...

Last week, The New York Times published a gut-wrenching
story about a five-year-old Honduran boy who was forcibly
separated from his father at the U.S. border and deprived of even
phone contact with him for weeks.
An American government escort handed over the 5-year-old child, identified on his travel documents as Jos, to the American woman whose family was entrusted with caring for him. He refused to take her hand. He did not cry. He was silent on the ride home. The first few nights, he cried himself to sleep. Then it turned into just moaning and moaning, said Janice, his foster mother. He recently slept through the night for the first time, though he still insists on tucking the family pictures [he had drawn] under his pillow. In response, Charlie Pierce wrote:
The United States government is now committing human rights atrocities within its own borders and against the most vulnerable people it can find. I dont need to understand, much less take seriously, anyone who still supports this president* and his administration* because, if you do, youve taken the idea of America and run battery acid through its veins. While the president's behavior over the weekend wasn't as appalling on the level of simple human cruelty, I had a similar reaction to it: I don't need to "understand" the people who are cheering the ill-informed, petulant, traitorous behavior of the president in the past two days. Trump started with a call for readmitting Russia to the group, which makes no sense at all.... It was brought in for strategic reasons, and kicked out when it invaded Ukraine. There is no possible justification for bringing it back, other than whatever hold Putin has on Trump personally.
Then Trump demanded that the other G7 members remove their ridiculous and unacceptable tariffs on U.S. goods which would be hard for them to do, because their actual tariff rates are very low. The European Union, for example, levies an ave...

Donald Trump has fully embraced both official, legalized corruption as well as good, old garden-variety individual corruption. Did Trump directly conspire with Vladimir Putin and Russia to influence the 2016 election? That is certainly possible. Will we see concrete evidence of that, especially evidence that would stand up in a court? That also is possible. It is also plausible that Robert Mueller issues a public report that would be damaging, if not damning, to Trump, but for whatever reason decides not to or, because of Trumps influence over the Justice Department, cannot pursue criminal action. We shall see. But this much is clear: It is a major mistake to place all focus on Russia. We know that Trumps team has colluded with Israel. We know they colluded with Saudi Arabia. We know they colluded with the United Arab Emirates.
There has been much discussion of the secret meetings during the 2016 campaign held at Trump Tower with various members of Trumps inner circle and family members. Recently we learned of yet another this one reportedly took place on August 3, 2016, and was arranged by Blackwater founder Erik Prince, the brother of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos. He has served as a shadow adviser, not only to the Trump campaign, but also to the Trump administration. He was the guy that pitched Trump on this idea of a privatized force for Afghanistan and was also involved with pitching the idea of a private intelligence force that could circumvent the deep state. Prince and his mother were also major financiers of the Trump election campaign.
This meeting, first revealed by the New York Times, has raised serious questions from many news outlets and some members of Congress about whether Erik Prince committed perjury before the House Intelligence Committee when he denied any role in the Trump campaign and downplayed his meeting with a powerful Russian businessman in the Seychelles in January 2017.
At this meeting was George Nader, an American citizen who has a long history of being a quiet emissary for the United States in the Middle East. He also worked for Blackwater and Prince. Nader is also a convicted pedophile in the Czech Republic and he has faced similar allegations in the United States. Nader works as an adviser for the Emirati royals, and because he has close ties to Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi crown prince. There was also an Israeli at that meeting, Joel Zamel. He was there supposedly pitching a multimillion dollar social media-manipulation campaign to the Trump team. Zamels company, PSY Group, boasts of employing former Israeli intelligence operatives.
This group met at Trump Tower with Donald...
